[00:00:08] Speaker A: When I was in middle school and we had to do health class and sex ed and all that, I was convinced, like, half the people I know had crabs, because that's how they made it sound like. Oh, yeah. Everybody's like, you're. If you're not careful. If you're not absolutely careful, you get cracks. [00:00:25] Speaker B: Tell the truth right now. Have you ever had crabs? No. Have you? [00:00:29] Speaker C: No. Okay. We. This friend at school, Phil Pryor, who tried to get us into. Richard Pryor. We called him Crabs because he was just constantly scratching his balls. Constantly. [00:00:42] Speaker B: What do you think was going on there? Maybe just an eczema or dryness. [00:00:45] Speaker C: Yeah. I don't know. [00:00:47] Speaker B: Maybe he needed skyrizzi to come. Rhythm. [00:00:49] Speaker A: Some people have that tick. I know a guy that will just constantly yank at himself whenever he's trying to tell a story. I used to live with him. We pulled him in the kitchen. Yeah. And he'd just be pulling at himself like, dude, can you stop? [00:00:58] Speaker B: Is this the guy from last week? [00:01:00] Speaker C: The. [00:01:01] Speaker B: That you talked about? Was his name. [00:01:03] Speaker A: Oh, guy from last week. [00:01:05] Speaker B: I forget. [00:01:06] Speaker A: I don't know. Who did I talk about last? [00:01:08] Speaker B: I can't remember. [00:01:10] Speaker A: You know, it's been a long week. A lot happened this week. [00:01:14] Speaker B: Well, listen, I. I got a big night today. I'm trying to get over to the. The ballpark because it's a Suzuki bobblehead night. [00:01:22] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:01:23] Speaker B: I've got my boy over there running over there to make sure he gets in line for that bobblehead. What the fuck am I gonna do with all these bobbleheads? I gotta get them. And then they sit in the box, and then, I don't know, they go [00:01:31] Speaker C: to the thrift store. [00:01:32] Speaker A: You don't put them up on display somewhere? [00:01:33] Speaker B: I do in my little office room, but no more space. [00:01:38] Speaker C: If you want that bobblehead so badly, just put a note in your diary. Go to the thrift store in 2032, and you'll have six of the fucking things. [00:01:47] Speaker B: Yeah, that's a good idea. Write myself a note. I know you. [00:01:52] Speaker A: A friend of mine that lives in Buffalo, her dad gave me a Nancy Faust bobblehead. [00:01:58] Speaker B: Who's that? [00:01:58] Speaker A: Nancy Faust used to be the Oregon player for the Chicago White Sox. [00:02:02] Speaker B: Oh, she's good. [00:02:02] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:02:03] Speaker B: Isn't she still the. I feel like. [00:02:05] Speaker A: I think she retired and she still does it every once in a while. [00:02:08] Speaker B: There's been a cheeky organ player at Wrigley lately. I don't know who it is, but, like, if somebody with the last name Myers comes up to bat they'll play like, the theme song from Halloween. [00:02:20] Speaker A: Oh, okay. [00:02:20] Speaker B: Just like they'll put, yeah, fine songs. [00:02:22] Speaker A: And that's what you should be doing if you're the Oregon player at a ballpark like that. You should be capitalizing on every little nuance. [00:02:28] Speaker B: Yes, I agree. I agree. [00:02:31] Speaker C: I always like Detroit Red Wings when they beat Chicago. They played the Night Chicago Died as everyone. You gotta do shit like that if you're in charge of the music. [00:02:42] Speaker A: When I was a kid, I wrote a letter to the Buffalo Sabres telling them, hey, listen, I can play every song that your organ player plays on the organ. We had an organ in the basement. I can play every song. If your organ player is ever sick, let me know. I'll sit in. You don't have to pay me. I just want to see the game. I just want to do it. They never got back to me. [00:03:00] Speaker C: That's kind of weak. That was a great PR opportunity for them. Missed. [00:03:04] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:03:06] Speaker C: Frank Pellico, Is he still there? [00:03:08] Speaker B: Who's that? [00:03:09] Speaker C: Frank Pellico at the organ. Chicago Cubs. I've got an album of his. [00:03:13] Speaker A: Really? [00:03:14] Speaker B: No. Maybe that's who it is. I don't know. I don't know who it is. [00:03:20] Speaker C: They used to play. You know the song Machine Head? [00:03:23] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Sixteen Stones. [00:03:29] Speaker C: When Ed Belfor made a big stop. [00:03:32] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:03:32] Speaker C: The Blackhawks would play Machine Ed put up a logo like a graphic. [00:03:38] Speaker A: That's great, Machine Ed. [00:03:41] Speaker C: Puck's bouncing off him. [00:03:42] Speaker A: We got Patrick Kane back this season, huh? That's gonna be exciting. [00:03:45] Speaker C: Let's get some season liking this asshole with his season. [00:03:50] Speaker A: How much are season tickets? So, so expensive? [00:03:54] Speaker B: Yeah, they're not cheap, but take 10 game. A 10 game pack? [00:04:00] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:04:00] Speaker B: Where we sat. [00:04:01] Speaker A: Yep. [00:04:02] Speaker B: 10 game pack. You get to kind of pretty much pick your. Your games. [00:04:05] Speaker A: Yeah, [00:04:07] Speaker B: eerily, it's $666 a seat that [00:04:11] Speaker A: just kind of over a 10 game [00:04:13] Speaker B: pack for one seat. [00:04:16] Speaker A: Do you want to split a 10 game pack? [00:04:18] Speaker B: I. I would. [00:04:19] Speaker A: We get five games, $333. I would 100% do that. [00:04:24] Speaker B: All right. [00:04:26] Speaker C: He's flash. Harry wants two tickets. [00:04:29] Speaker B: What? [00:04:30] Speaker C: He only. He's talking about one ticket. [00:04:32] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:04:32] Speaker C: You gonna take. You know what? [00:04:34] Speaker B: Do you want to. [00:04:34] Speaker A: Even if we did two, I would pay 666. [00:04:37] Speaker B: You get five games with two tickets and I get two tickets. [00:04:39] Speaker A: Yeah, I would do that 100%. I would get the value out of you. [00:04:43] Speaker B: And I go to all 10 games together. [00:04:45] Speaker A: I would do that, too. [00:04:45] Speaker C: You got more money than sense, ultimately, [00:04:49] Speaker B: you know, like there's going to Be games. I can't go to any. You take this. Whatever. Yeah. [00:04:53] Speaker D: You want to do it? [00:04:53] Speaker A: Yeah, I will. I'm not joking. 100%. That'd be great. [00:04:58] Speaker B: Maybe we'll bring Gary. [00:05:00] Speaker A: Five guaranteed Hawks games. That means I'm gonna see the Sabres when they get here. [00:05:03] Speaker B: I get the Bruins. [00:05:04] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:05:06] Speaker B: Why are you shaking your head? [00:05:07] Speaker A: Yeah. Why are you so disappointed? You don't spend any of your money. You don't have to do it. [00:05:10] Speaker B: We're just rich. [00:05:11] Speaker C: Yeah, you're just rich. [00:05:12] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:05:12] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:05:12] Speaker A: This is why I don't have cash. [00:05:13] Speaker B: I gotta look at my finances, but. Yeah. [00:05:15] Speaker C: I'm a pauper amongst princes, apparently. [00:05:17] Speaker B: What's going on with the job search? You've been hitting Zilla or monster.com. find anything out there? [00:05:22] Speaker C: I don't want to say too much. [00:05:24] Speaker A: Oh, that means you got something on the line. [00:05:26] Speaker B: Let's get something on the burner. [00:05:28] Speaker C: No, because then I'll look like an. [00:05:30] Speaker A: Why? Because then. Oh, then we're gonna start talking about, [00:05:32] Speaker B: like, how's the job? You're. When are you starting? Like, I didn't get it. [00:05:36] Speaker C: Yeah, exactly. I didn't get it. [00:05:39] Speaker B: Well, all right. Here's the opening scene from Sling Blade. This takes about 20 minutes, so just sit back, relax there. [00:05:47] Speaker A: Okay. [00:05:47] Speaker C: You ain't reading the whole thing. [00:05:50] Speaker A: Tell me when. [00:05:51] Speaker B: Yeah, you can. [00:05:55] Speaker C: What sort of music would you have? [00:05:56] Speaker B: I'll just start, and when you can find it, you go ahead and it'll. [00:05:59] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm going to find some, like. Lilting. I'm just going to search. Lilting piano music Let me set the. [00:06:03] Speaker B: Set the scene. [00:06:04] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. What kind of speech is it? [00:06:05] Speaker B: Well, this is the beginning when he's in the hospital, the criminal hospital or [00:06:10] Speaker A: whatever, talking in the dark room. [00:06:11] Speaker B: He's talking in the dark room to the reporter that wants to know the story of how he got in there and what happened. [00:06:16] Speaker C: I thought it was in another patient he was talking to and he's blurted it out. [00:06:21] Speaker B: There is a scene. There are scenes where he's with another patient, but this is when the reporter is asking. [00:06:26] Speaker A: When that guy pulls the chair up, whoever that actor is that pulls the chair from across the room and lets it really drag. [00:06:31] Speaker B: J.T. walsh. [00:06:32] Speaker A: I guess it was his idea to do that. [00:06:34] Speaker B: Yeah. A great actor and a Few Good men as Lieutenant Markinson. But no, this is when he's talking to the reporter. Now, I all. Also, this is kind of an audition, too, because you run this place, right? And he may have some say in it. I'd like to see if we can't put together a. You know, it's. I've wanted to do this play for a long time. It would be like an abridged version of the. The film, but in play form. If we could put it on here to get the perfect stage, you're looking at, you know what you could do. [00:07:08] Speaker C: So I was talking to Borky about this awful thing that's big in England right now called the play that goes wrong. My niece likes it. Oh, yeah, it's absolute dog. They basically do plays, but like all the props go wrong or they get the lines and so it's like a [00:07:24] Speaker B: debacle of a play. [00:07:26] Speaker C: Yeah, this would be perfect. So you could do the Sling Blade that goes wrong, where all the props are failing and the actors keep entering at the wrong queue and stuff. [00:07:36] Speaker B: Oh, I would call it Sling Bad Sling Vlad. How about Sling Blad? We could do Sling Blade the musical and you could supply the music. [00:07:47] Speaker A: Yeah, that sounds great. I would. I would love to do that. [00:07:50] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:07:51] Speaker B: All right, do that. [00:07:51] Speaker A: After a Blackhawks game. We'll plan this at the Blackhawks. [00:07:54] Speaker B: Yeah, we'll talk about the games. [00:07:55] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:07:55] Speaker B: Up in the top row. [00:07:57] Speaker A: This is too suspenseful. This is not quite. [00:07:59] Speaker B: Yeah, take it down. [00:08:00] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:08:01] Speaker C: It's dramatic. [00:08:02] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:08:04] Speaker D: I reckon you want to know. To know what it is I'm doing in here. I reckon the reason I'm in here, I get somebody. But I reckon you want to know how come I get dumb buddy. So I reckon I'll start from the run I lived out on. My mother and father blaze most of my life in a little old that my daddy built for me. They didn't want me up there too much in the house with the rest of them. But mostly I just died around out there in the. Yeah. Looking at the ground. I didn't have no floor out there, but it does dug me a hole out there to lay down in a quilt or two and put down there. My father was a hard working man most of his life. Not that I could date a danger myself. I would mostly just sit around out there in the shed tinkering around with a lawnmower or two. Went to school off and on from time to time. But the children out there were very cruel to me. Made quite a bit as bored of me, make fun of me quite a bit. But mostly I would just sit around out there in the jet. My daddy worked down there at the sawmill down at the planter mill for an old man named Dixon. And old man Dixon was a very cruel feller didn't treat his employees very well. Didn't pay him too much of a wage. Didn't pay my daddy too much of a wage. Just barely enough to get by, I reckon. But I reckon he got up by all right. They used to come out, one or the other of them, usually my mother, feed me pretty regular. Well, I know he made enough to where I could have mustard and biscuits three or four times a week. Old man Dixon had a boy named by the name Jesse Dixon. Jesse was really more cruel than his daddy was. Used to make quite a bit of sport of me when I was down there at the schoolhouse. Used to take advantage of the little girls in the neighborhood. They used to say that my mother was a very pretty woman. They said there quite a bit from time to time while I be down there, just. Well, I reckon you want me to get on with it and tell you what happened. So I reckon I tell you. I was sitting out there in the shed one evening, not doing too much or nothing. Just kind of staring at the wall, waiting on my mother to come out and give me some of my Bible lesson. Well, I heard a commotion up there in the house. So I run up on the screen in port, see what's going on. I looked in the winder and there I see my mother laying on the floor without any clothes on. I seen Jesse Dixon laying on top of her. He was having his way with her. Well, I just seen Red. I picked up a Kaiser blade just sitting there by the screen door. Some folks call it a sling blade. I call it a Kaiser blade. He got a long wooden handle, kind of like an axe handle with a long blade on it, kind of shaped like a banana. Sharp on one edge, dull on the other. What the highway boys used to cut down weeds and whatnot. Well, I went in there in the house and I hid Jesse Dickton upside the head with it. Knocked him off my mother. I reckon that didn't quite satisfy me. So I hit him again with a neck and a sharp edge. Did plum near cut his head off. Killed him. My mother, she jumped up there and started hollering, what, did you kill Jesse Fer? What did you kill Jesse Fer? Well, come find out. I don't reckon my mother minded what Jesse was doing to her. I reckon that made me madder than what Jesse made me. So I talking, talking, taking a Kaiser blade. Some folks call it a sling blade. I call it a glazer blade. And I hit my mother upside the head with it. Killed her. Some folks has asked me if you had to do it over again. Would you do it the same way? I reckon I would. Seeing how they seem fit to put in here. Here I've been for a great long while. I learned to read some. Took me four years to read. Read the Bible. I reckon I understand a great deal of it. More than what I expected in most places. I slept in a good bed for a great long while. Now they seem fit to put me out of here. They say they're setting me free today. Anyhow, I reckon that's all you needing to know. You want to hear about more details? I reckon I can tell them to you. I don't know whether or not that's enough for your newspaper or not. [00:13:20] Speaker B: And that's the scene. [00:13:20] Speaker D: Hold on. [00:13:21] Speaker B: My son's calling me about the bobblehead. [00:13:25] Speaker A: Hello? [00:13:26] Speaker B: Yeah. Did you get the bobblehead? What? You don't have a lock? All right, I gotta go. I'm. I'm doing. I'm doing this show. You gotta. You can't block it. There's nothing. Oh, take it to the. Isn't there a bike? Check there. Go around the other side. Ask them where the bike check is, and you can check it. It's somewhere you can check your bike. [00:13:59] Speaker C: A valet. [00:14:00] Speaker B: The valet? Yeah, the valet. Go around to the valet. [00:14:03] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. You took yours there. [00:14:06] Speaker B: It's on the other side. Just ask one of the security guards. [00:14:09] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, during the show. On Waveland. [00:14:10] Speaker B: On Waveland. It's on Waveland. [00:14:12] Speaker C: Yeah, by the firehouse. [00:14:13] Speaker B: By the firehouse. Maybe. I don't think it's there anymore, but they'll know where it is. Get in there and get that bobblehead. [00:14:22] Speaker C: It's an hour and a half till the game in it. [00:14:24] Speaker B: Yeah, but you got to get in there two hours early to get the bobblehead. And now he's not going to get it because he's late as it is, and he didn't bring the keeper to lock the. [00:14:35] Speaker C: You know, I'm having to borrow the grinder again to cut it off a lamppost. [00:14:41] Speaker B: He doesn't even have the lock. He doesn't have the key to unlock it. [00:14:44] Speaker C: Oh, to put it on there. [00:14:46] Speaker B: Ball sack. I'm not getting that. [00:14:50] Speaker C: Do you need to flee the. The podcast? [00:14:52] Speaker B: No, I can't get over there in time. It'll be gone. All right, I need a Tootsie Pop from the Tootsie Pops I brought last week because my throat's a little worn out from doing that whole monologue from Sling Blade. All right, give it to me. How did you think it was. How did you. Do you think I did? [00:15:08] Speaker A: Yeah, that was. [00:15:09] Speaker C: I think the music added a lot to it. [00:15:11] Speaker A: The music added some. And what the listeners can't see is you're even doing the little head gestures, the side snaps, you know, any kind of. [00:15:18] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:15:18] Speaker C: Bloody hell. These are big. [00:15:20] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:15:20] Speaker C: Then ones you and Borkie have are like marble. [00:15:23] Speaker A: Those are dumb Dumbs. Dum Dums are classically small. [00:15:28] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:15:28] Speaker B: These are big. They got a nice Tootsie. Tootsie Roll center. My buddy Alcormos, he loves Tootsie Rolls. He's gonna like these. [00:15:37] Speaker C: Hold on. All we're gonna hear now for the next five minutes is. [00:15:40] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. I'm muting both of the mics. [00:15:47] Speaker B: You're going for one, too? [00:15:48] Speaker C: No. Not having heard that [00:15:52] Speaker A: after making that [00:15:52] Speaker C: sound like a warthog in a trough. [00:15:59] Speaker B: So anyway, I want to do that play here. [00:16:02] Speaker A: What? Sling Blade, the musical. [00:16:04] Speaker B: Yep. And it opens like, in the dark with just a spotlight on me in the Carl outfit with the pants and the shoes and. And like rubbing the hands in the chair. [00:16:15] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:16:16] Speaker B: And I'll have it all memorized. [00:16:17] Speaker C: Only if I can drop a spotlight on your head. [00:16:20] Speaker B: What do you mean? [00:16:21] Speaker C: Like. Like it's the. The Sling Blade that goes wrong. The musical. Like, all the props keep having to go wrong. [00:16:29] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. I thought it would make a nice display thing, but. [00:16:38] Speaker C: Yeah, it's meant to be. It is. Is this a retail box? It's got to be at 100 count, right? So you do that. [00:16:46] Speaker B: I don't think it would be that. You think. [00:16:48] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. [00:16:51] Speaker B: All right. Well, thank you for the musical accompaniment. Put your brain on that. [00:16:55] Speaker A: I used to want to do. I forgot this was on here. I used to want to do Grease here. This is like 5 years ago when I first. [00:17:02] Speaker C: Musical version of Greece. [00:17:03] Speaker A: Yeah. Musical version of Greece. But it basically, it would. It would just be. It would just be Greece, but everybody be covered in Greece, too. We put a big tarp down. Extremely greasy, head to toe, petroleum jelly. [00:17:18] Speaker C: What about if you did Grease in Greek? So everyone learned Greek, right? [00:17:24] Speaker B: Greece, just instead of E, A, S, E, E, C. Yeah, [00:17:33] Speaker C: that one of my. I know. I know that you have a vendetta with the guy, but one of my favorite jokes ever was by Mick Betancourt. [00:17:41] Speaker B: I don't have a mandatory. [00:17:43] Speaker C: And he talked about how he would go over to his Greek friend's house and the Greek dad would come in and be like, you know, and imagine it in Greek, obviously, you know, aggressive. And. And he drink grandma and be like, and then in the end, Ben called his friend. What did he say? And his friend, he said, there's some pop in the fridge if we want it. But it's like. You think he's angry? [00:18:12] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:18:12] Speaker B: Ye. [00:18:13] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:18:13] Speaker B: I don't remember. [00:18:14] Speaker C: Great joke. [00:18:15] Speaker B: Mick Batten Court. [00:18:17] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:18:17] Speaker B: Catch him live. [00:18:18] Speaker C: He was kind of like your. He was like this sort of Green Goblin to your Spider man almost. [00:18:23] Speaker D: Right, well, there were. [00:18:24] Speaker B: There were. They were competing camps, right? There was the alt comics, right? And I was part of that. [00:18:30] Speaker C: You Fever Olsen. [00:18:32] Speaker D: Blah, blah. [00:18:33] Speaker B: Yeah. And then there was the. You know, the traditional borsch belt comics, like John Roy, Mick Betancourt, Adam Crosh. [00:18:40] Speaker D: No, I wouldn't put him in that category. [00:18:42] Speaker B: I don't know. He doesn't have a category, but. Yeah. And so we were. You know, there was. You know, it was like the. The jets and the. [00:18:50] Speaker C: Yeah, whatever. [00:18:52] Speaker B: West side Story. They were the Socials, and we were the. The outsiders. [00:18:59] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:19:01] Speaker B: Anyway, what's going on since last week? Oh, I. I felt bad because I didn't have a gift for you last week, Mark. So I brought you this gift this week. All right, so here we go. [00:19:12] Speaker A: Oh, that's the same wrapping paper from mine last week. [00:19:15] Speaker B: Oh, I wrap everything the same. [00:19:16] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, I guess probably still the same roll. [00:19:18] Speaker B: These take me a long time. [00:19:19] Speaker C: I'm tearing at it like Charlie Bucket with the. [00:19:25] Speaker B: With the golden ticket. Hold on. While you're opening that, I got. This is from. [00:19:31] Speaker A: There's an update about the bobblehead. [00:19:33] Speaker B: What's up? [00:19:35] Speaker A: I would have to go way in the opposite direction of our house. [00:19:38] Speaker B: Like, down to the red line for the valet. [00:19:40] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:19:41] Speaker B: Go down there. You can. It's no problem. Go, go, go. No, it's not. It's just on the other side of the stadium. You still got time. Get in there. You can do this. I know you can. You hung up on me. [00:19:54] Speaker A: Oh, man. [00:19:56] Speaker C: Okay, so I got to guess the Olivia. Olivia. Olivia Wilde. [00:20:02] Speaker B: No, but the clue is the. The blank spaces says Olivia and then has. [00:20:07] Speaker C: Oh, Newton John. [00:20:08] Speaker D: Yes. [00:20:09] Speaker C: Oh, you didn't say about the blank spaces. [00:20:11] Speaker A: That's what the blank spaces are here. No. The Piano Man. [00:20:15] Speaker B: Yes. You have to fill in the blank. [00:20:17] Speaker A: I get it. [00:20:18] Speaker B: And because she's British, she's Australian, Isn't it so fortunate? [00:20:22] Speaker A: I still happen to have mine from last week still sitting right behind me. [00:20:25] Speaker C: Hmm. [00:20:26] Speaker B: Yeah, I thought you would bring it home, but whatever. [00:20:29] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:20:30] Speaker B: Olivia Newton John. Because you like blonde women. She's British. [00:20:34] Speaker A: Speaking of Greece. [00:20:36] Speaker B: Very attractive. [00:20:37] Speaker C: Mm. [00:20:39] Speaker A: She's in Greece. Right. [00:20:40] Speaker B: She's in Greece. That's the other reason. Why? Because he loves Greece. [00:20:43] Speaker A: Yep. [00:20:43] Speaker C: Yep. All right. Well, I actually did. I did go home during this week and got you presents. [00:20:51] Speaker A: Oh, wow. [00:20:52] Speaker B: Is this something from Alan Silver? [00:20:54] Speaker C: So for you, I got a. My best friend is Black hat. [00:20:57] Speaker B: Oh, is that a program here? [00:20:58] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:20:59] Speaker B: Nice. I've been wanting to see that program here at the Lincoln Lodge. [00:21:02] Speaker C: So you should wear that to your job where it go down. No, it was a practice iron on. That didn't go well. [00:21:09] Speaker B: Okay. Seems like these were just retrieved from the basement. [00:21:13] Speaker C: And then for Christian, I've got some German beer gardens. [00:21:17] Speaker A: Oh. [00:21:17] Speaker C: Cause we're right in the throes of Oktoberfest. [00:21:21] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:21:22] Speaker C: You can learn a few. [00:21:23] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:21:23] Speaker B: To go up to Lincoln Square for that. [00:21:26] Speaker C: My Mrs. Was going to volunteer at the Oktoberfest, but she. She demurred on it. She did the. The original. She did the German Fest earlier this year. She said she spent four hours just slopping sauerkraut onto plates. [00:21:40] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:21:41] Speaker C: And it just. Trays would just keep coming and she was just slopping it. [00:21:45] Speaker B: And that was her job. [00:21:46] Speaker D: Yep. [00:21:46] Speaker B: Sauerkraut slop. [00:21:47] Speaker C: Yep. [00:21:48] Speaker B: So she didn't want to do it again. And she's a German lass. [00:21:52] Speaker C: She. She. She's sort of all over the place because she had. She had Germanic leanings. So that's why she went and. [00:21:59] Speaker B: What do you mean leanings? [00:22:00] Speaker C: She thought her family were German, so she was determined. She nannied in Germany for a couple of years and all that bollocks. Then all of a sudden she wants to be a Polsky now because of some, you know, that 53. Me. Yeah, that bullshit Packers. [00:22:16] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:22:16] Speaker C: And then she also has an affinity with Scotland. [00:22:19] Speaker B: And. [00:22:19] Speaker C: Yeah. She's a world traveler, so she develops affinities with things, falls in love with [00:22:24] Speaker B: every country she goes to and wants to claim it as her own. [00:22:26] Speaker A: She has been like, everywhere. We got into a long conversation on 4th of July 1 time and she just. [00:22:31] Speaker B: Anywhere you place. [00:22:33] Speaker A: Oh, my God. Yeah. [00:22:34] Speaker B: You accompany her story about every place, some of them. [00:22:37] Speaker C: And my old dotage, I'm a bit too frail for some of the. I mean, she's full on. Like she's, you know, like she'll go [00:22:47] Speaker B: 12 hours a day. [00:22:48] Speaker C: We were talking the other day, she goes, you know what? Lithuania is the only Baltic state I haven't been to. [00:22:53] Speaker B: Well, that's coming up then. [00:22:54] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:22:55] Speaker B: Gonna knock that one off the list. [00:22:56] Speaker C: Well, we're talking about Japan the other day. I really do want to See Japan. You did, though, I thought, you know, [00:23:02] Speaker A: I was just looking at tickets to Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City the other night. [00:23:06] Speaker B: Hold on, hold on. [00:23:07] Speaker C: Vietnam is red hot right now as a thing to go to. [00:23:10] Speaker A: Why is that? [00:23:11] Speaker B: Did you get in? I can't find it, and I'm losing it. What? [00:23:20] Speaker C: We went to Thailand. It was like a three, three week trip, and it was the full monty, you know, Bangkok. [00:23:27] Speaker B: All right, go ahead. Just. Just take it home. [00:23:29] Speaker C: Phuket and, like, the big. There's a circuit that everyone does. [00:23:33] Speaker A: Do you think that's. So. Do you think one week is not enough time in Thailand? That's what. It's kind of what I was thinking. [00:23:39] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:23:39] Speaker A: I should. Maybe I should just. Just do Thailand, then a separate time. Do Vietnam, then a separate time. I want to go to Japan and China, too. Yeah, maybe each one. Because, you know, the temptation is once you're over there, you're like, well, I'm here. I may as well jump around. But then, you know, the risk is that you're not gonna see everything, that you're not gonna enjoy everything. [00:23:58] Speaker C: My misses Is just. We're up. We're going here, we're going here. We're going. In the end, I was like, it's too much. You kill me every time. You know, we did India and we covered hot. I mean, that's a ma. We covered half the bleeding continent in two, three weeks. I was dead by the end of it. [00:24:14] Speaker A: That's a big continent. [00:24:15] Speaker B: Yep. [00:24:16] Speaker C: I always recommend. I want to do Japan just to say I've done it. And then the best place I ever went was New Zealand. Oh, really? Yeah. [00:24:25] Speaker B: That's great. [00:24:26] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. I've never heard anybody say, you know, I had a really bad time in New Zealand. [00:24:30] Speaker C: Yeah. Just the way you do it, by traveling around in a little van and you, you know, stopping at campsites. Great. [00:24:39] Speaker A: Do they have. Is it like a van? Is that how they say? [00:24:42] Speaker C: Converted? Converted cargo van. [00:24:45] Speaker A: Somebody else is driving it. [00:24:46] Speaker C: No, no, you're driving it, and you just go from campsite to campsite. [00:24:53] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't get anywhere, really. [00:24:55] Speaker A: There's not. There's. [00:24:55] Speaker C: Well, you said you hate anywhere that is in America, though. [00:24:58] Speaker B: Yeah, I don't like other countries. [00:25:00] Speaker A: Anything that's not red, white, and blue. Yeah, they don't really have good. Good train system around from Thailand to Vietnam or like, that whole, like, southern part of the Pacific Rim. [00:25:12] Speaker B: No train. [00:25:13] Speaker A: They're. They're building one, but it won't be ready for another. [00:25:15] Speaker C: Thailand has trains because you. We did the overnighter. You know, it's from wherever to wherever. [00:25:20] Speaker A: Yeah. The trouble is international, like, going from country to country. They don't really. It's not like Europe, where you can just, you know, go through countries and end up somewhere else. [00:25:30] Speaker C: Yep. [00:25:30] Speaker B: Ever when you eat these lollipops, they. As you suck on them more, they become sharp. [00:25:36] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:25:36] Speaker B: And, like, I think I've sliced a part of my mouth. In my mouth. [00:25:40] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:25:40] Speaker B: From the lollipop. [00:25:41] Speaker A: Oh, you got to be careful. [00:25:42] Speaker B: It's like glass. [00:25:44] Speaker A: That's why that owl can bite it, because he's got a beak. [00:25:47] Speaker B: Yeah. He's not. [00:25:47] Speaker A: You're delicate. [00:25:48] Speaker B: Human. Around with the licking. [00:25:50] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:25:50] Speaker B: Slicing up his tongue. [00:25:51] Speaker A: Right. [00:25:51] Speaker C: In America, when you would go to the fair when you were a kid, and they had all of the different sweets. Yeah, right. You know, the bags of them. Did you ever have ones that were like, gigantic babies? Dummies. [00:26:04] Speaker A: I don't. I don't remember. Big bags of candy. [00:26:06] Speaker B: Babies, Dummies. What's a baby's. [00:26:08] Speaker A: Like a gummy. [00:26:09] Speaker C: Well, thing that you stick in a baby's gob when it's. [00:26:12] Speaker B: Pacifier. [00:26:13] Speaker C: Yeah. Whatever you want to call it. [00:26:14] Speaker B: What do you call it there? [00:26:15] Speaker C: A dummy. [00:26:16] Speaker B: A dummy. [00:26:16] Speaker A: And so I never saw those. [00:26:18] Speaker C: There was these huge. They were like a baby's dummy, but there were the size of your fist, and you would get one, and, like, my sister always had to have one, and it would last, like, two weeks. [00:26:29] Speaker B: Well, no, but they have ring pops. [00:26:31] Speaker A: Ring pops. That was one. Yeah. I was thinking about the giant suckers. You know, the ones that are the size of a dinner plate. [00:26:36] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:26:36] Speaker A: Like that Seinfeld episode, the backwards one where Kramer starts with it almost eating, and then he ends up with it complete. [00:26:42] Speaker B: Did you get a chance to play that game yet? [00:26:43] Speaker A: Oh, my God. Yeah. I played it every night this week. [00:26:46] Speaker B: It's good. [00:26:47] Speaker A: Yeah. Alberto comes upstairs. We have our. Yeah. [00:26:50] Speaker B: Alberto's kind of like Kramer. [00:26:51] Speaker A: Yeah, he is. He's very much like Kramer. [00:26:54] Speaker B: Yeah. You stick a dummy in Alberto's gob and pull out the board. [00:26:58] Speaker A: Yep. It's a regular Wednesday night over at the old Alkeld commune. [00:27:04] Speaker B: I'm gonna start. [00:27:05] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:27:05] Speaker B: Well, anyway. [00:27:06] Speaker A: What? Finish your thought. [00:27:08] Speaker B: Just using more British talk in my everyday life, just. Just to confound people. [00:27:16] Speaker C: Did you get the youth back in line? [00:27:18] Speaker B: Well, I had to take that off speaker. [00:27:21] Speaker A: Sound like he was having a rough time. [00:27:24] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Well, listen, I got a hand to him. He tried. He did not want to go over there two hours early and get the Bobblehead. And do you have to go into the stadium? [00:27:34] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:27:34] Speaker B: And you're in there. You can't go anywhere. [00:27:36] Speaker C: Stuck in there. [00:27:36] Speaker B: Yeah, I think that's how they get you. They want you to go in there and spend money. [00:27:40] Speaker A: Oh, for sure. Yeah. That's got to be it. I've got a. How are the Cubs doing? Are they going to the playoffs? When are the playoffs? [00:27:48] Speaker B: They'll go to the playoffs. I think they'll make the playoffs, but there's about two weeks left in the season. And they'll make it. I believe they could not, but they. They'll make it, but I don't think they're going to have any home games, any hosting any games. [00:28:01] Speaker A: Who do you think they'll play? [00:28:03] Speaker C: Sorry, what is. [00:28:04] Speaker D: What did you. [00:28:05] Speaker C: Yeah, I watched Moneyball. I got a lot of Moneyball stuff. [00:28:09] Speaker A: That's a good movie. [00:28:10] Speaker B: It's a good book. Have you ever read the book? [00:28:12] Speaker C: No. I texted Brido. I said to him, I bet. I bet Moneyball movie gave you a massive stiffy. And he said, no, he's just a basketball. A baseball nerd. And he said, yeah, that. And the book gave me a big stiffy. [00:28:29] Speaker A: Hey, you want to know what? I was listening to Bill Burr's podcast yesterday, and he was talking about some performance that he just did. He said, oh, I was out at this club doing some new material, and the crowd was really good, had a really good show. One of my buddies I've known for a long time opened up for me, and this other guy went on before him, and this guy was sharp. He was some of the best joke writing I've heard in a really long time. This guy's. He's. He's gonna go far. You can tell. He's just really. He's got great material. His name, I don't want to mess it up. It's Dan decimo. Oh, wow. Yeah, he started spelling it out. He's a D, O, C. Yeah. [00:28:59] Speaker B: Was that a lodger? [00:29:00] Speaker A: Yep. Yeah, Long time. Yeah, long time lodge guy. [00:29:04] Speaker C: Some prime time cast. [00:29:05] Speaker A: Yeah. Went out to make a go of it about a year ago. [00:29:08] Speaker B: What's the name? Let's get it right. [00:29:09] Speaker A: Dan Decimo. He got Bill Burr. Got it. [00:29:11] Speaker C: Mind you, he just came back and did Zany's and blew us off, so. [00:29:14] Speaker A: Oh, did he? [00:29:15] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. [00:29:15] Speaker A: He didn't reply to my text when I said, hey, big shout out on Bill Burr's podcast. I didn't get a response, so. Well, I guess that's it for Dan decimo. [00:29:22] Speaker C: Yep. [00:29:22] Speaker B: Pieces of Dead to me. [00:29:25] Speaker C: We said that at exact same time. [00:29:28] Speaker B: Dead to me. [00:29:29] Speaker C: Dead to me. [00:29:30] Speaker B: Well, we'll be. We'll be reviewing his stand up special on here that Bill Burr produces, whenever that is. [00:29:38] Speaker C: Sounds like he just got. What's the word? Knighted or. Yeah, Moneyball. Great film. [00:29:44] Speaker B: Yeah. You like more people. Maybe baseball's your thing. You know, you're not really into hockey anymore. You're not gonna be sitting with Christian and I at the games. [00:29:52] Speaker A: But that's gonna be so much fun. [00:29:54] Speaker C: Think about the premise. You think, right? This film's gonna be about baseball statistics, essentially. And you just think, f that noise. You know what I mean? Let me go watch some other, you know, some superhero blowing up. But it just pulls you along. Yeah, pulls you along. [00:30:13] Speaker A: It's funny, I. I saw that. I saw that film a while back, but I just recently watched it on the plane to San Francisco again. Really? Just last week or two weeks ago, huh? [00:30:22] Speaker B: Two weeks ago. [00:30:23] Speaker A: Two weeks ago. [00:30:25] Speaker C: Is the guy still around that it was based? [00:30:27] Speaker A: Brad Pitt? [00:30:27] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:30:29] Speaker A: You know, I mean, I heard Brad Pitt's a real jerk in real life. I heard he's abusive to his family, which is very disappointing. I liked Brad Pitt a lot. [00:30:39] Speaker C: So. [00:30:39] Speaker A: It's hard to get behind somebody when you do something like that. [00:30:42] Speaker B: He's announced he's drinking again. [00:30:44] Speaker A: So he did all that sober? He was an sober. So he started drinking again. [00:30:48] Speaker B: Maybe that's. Who wants to be nicer? [00:30:50] Speaker A: I just swore. Damn. [00:30:51] Speaker C: So when I spoke to Brett Butler at length. You remember Brett butler from the 90s, the. [00:30:58] Speaker B: The baseball player Brett Butler? [00:30:59] Speaker C: No, no, the female comedian. [00:31:01] Speaker B: Sure. [00:31:02] Speaker C: She said that. [00:31:03] Speaker B: Her. At length. Recently? [00:31:05] Speaker C: No, no, a while back, after her fame faded. [00:31:09] Speaker B: The fame? [00:31:10] Speaker C: Yeah, she had a sick. Common stuff. [00:31:12] Speaker A: No. [00:31:13] Speaker B: Oh, Brett Butler. The. I'm thinking of Blair Butler. [00:31:17] Speaker C: Yeah, Brett Butler. [00:31:19] Speaker B: Yeah, the. Yeah, yeah, sure. You talked to her? [00:31:21] Speaker C: She. She. Yeah, I. I tried to book her for the festival or something, but anyway, she said that she. When she sold her house, you know, after her fame was over and stuff, she sold it. One of the people who came to view it was Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt. Can you imagine that? Like. [00:31:38] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:31:39] Speaker C: Do you sell any house? And you were. And he said. She said, jennifer Aniston, complete airhead. And Brad Pitt was so goddamn stoned, all he would do is giggle. [00:31:50] Speaker A: Wow. [00:31:51] Speaker C: Yeah, [00:31:53] Speaker B: wow. [00:31:54] Speaker C: So there you go. That's a thrilling. Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Brett Butler. Three Triple threat anecdote. [00:32:02] Speaker B: Most. I can't believe you talked to Blair Butler. Brett Butler on the phone? [00:32:09] Speaker C: No, in Person I was in Houston scouting for the festival. She was doing, you know, she was the star of the Shadies down there. Yeah, the laugh stop. [00:32:18] Speaker B: And this is 30 years ago. [00:32:21] Speaker C: This is 25. 20 odd years ago. [00:32:24] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Where's she now? Brett Butler pushing up daisies? [00:32:30] Speaker C: No, I think she just out of it. What did you think of her? [00:32:35] Speaker B: I didn't like her act. [00:32:36] Speaker C: Yeah, I wouldn't have thought so. [00:32:37] Speaker B: Not my cup of tea. But I do like the idea. [00:32:40] Speaker C: You like Leanne Morgan, who is basically the retread. [00:32:44] Speaker E: She's. [00:32:44] Speaker C: She's like a, an Aldi version of Brett Botler. [00:32:47] Speaker B: I like, I like what my wife likes. So I can be closer to my wife, watch the same things. And speaking of which. And I like the idea of how about we do this, try to do this every week. One thing I watched last week. One thing you watched was Moneyball. And you too in the same. [00:33:04] Speaker A: That's right. [00:33:05] Speaker B: One thing I watched last week. Can't say enough about it was. Was awesome. Martin Short. Life is short. Did you see the documentary about Martin Short? [00:33:14] Speaker C: Can't stand the guy. [00:33:15] Speaker B: Yeah, I would. Well, I didn't like him or not like him necessarily, but now I love him. What a guy. This guy's amazing guy. He said he's had some rough patches in his life, but through it all he's, he's just, you know, grinned and bared it in a way that like I think anyone would appreciate and really has just a great outlook on life. And man, does he have so many friends and relationships. That life of the party type of guy. This is tremendous. [00:33:45] Speaker C: Is Dennis Quaid still floating around inside him? [00:33:48] Speaker A: No. [00:33:49] Speaker B: They do talk a little bit about inner space though. Yeah, I love that movie. [00:33:53] Speaker C: It's a good film that if you [00:33:55] Speaker B: look at, you know, Martin Short's filmography, he's 90% of what he does has been a colossal bomb. Hasn't done much. Much that's done well. Please watch it. Maybe, you know, like we, last week we did Lenny Bruce. We're starting to get into some weirder stuff. Or not weirder, but, you know, less middle of the road stuff. Maybe we do, you know, like a movie or a documentary, something about comedy. [00:34:27] Speaker C: You've been wanking on about that for a year. [00:34:29] Speaker B: Yeah, why not? [00:34:30] Speaker C: Still haven't. [00:34:30] Speaker B: Well, maybe I'll choose. Who's choosing today? [00:34:32] Speaker C: I am and I'm not doing that. [00:34:34] Speaker B: Oh, God only knows what you'll choose. It'll be a. Oh, you're gonna gaslight of me. [00:34:38] Speaker C: I love it. Gaslighting you're gonna love it, you slag. [00:34:42] Speaker D: God. [00:34:43] Speaker C: That's what I'm watching. Next is Sexy Beast. That's the greatest film ever made, bar none. [00:34:49] Speaker B: I met. I was with a guy this weekend that looked just like Ben Kingsley. It's weird. [00:34:53] Speaker C: Sexy Beast is like. [00:34:54] Speaker B: You seen that film? [00:34:55] Speaker A: No. [00:34:56] Speaker C: Oh, you should see it. It's a tour de force. [00:34:58] Speaker B: It is. Yeah. He ain't lying. It's a great film. [00:35:02] Speaker C: How, if you can imagine finding Ben Kingsley menacing, it just blows your mind. [00:35:15] Speaker A: I don't know who Ben Kingsley is. [00:35:17] Speaker C: Gandhi. [00:35:19] Speaker B: Gandalf. He said Gandhi, but he means Gandhi. The man who played Gandhi in what? In the film. Gandhi. [00:35:31] Speaker A: Not familiar. [00:35:32] Speaker B: Okay. [00:35:33] Speaker C: What else would he do? I mean, he's like a legend. [00:35:35] Speaker B: You ever see House of Sand and Fog? [00:35:37] Speaker C: No. [00:35:38] Speaker B: That's a rough movie. God, yeah. Jesus. I don't know. He was in Sopranos. [00:35:43] Speaker A: Oh, who did he play in Sopranos? [00:35:44] Speaker B: He played Ben Kingsley. [00:35:50] Speaker A: Not. Not the guy from Wings. [00:35:53] Speaker B: What? [00:35:54] Speaker C: He was Paul McCartney? [00:35:56] Speaker B: Yeah, Paul McCartney, I think Wings. [00:35:58] Speaker A: Oh, that's right. It's Paul McCartney. [00:36:00] Speaker B: Anywho. [00:36:01] Speaker C: Anywho. Sexy Beast is the greatest movie ever made. [00:36:06] Speaker B: It's. It's a great film. [00:36:08] Speaker A: Bill, I didn't have a gift for you last week. I brought it this week. [00:36:12] Speaker D: Yeah. I feel like you didn't have to do that. [00:36:14] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, this is also something I got in San Francisco. I just forgotten it at home last week. And I don't want you to be discouraged or I don't want you to feel like. Because your gifts are large and these are small gifts, but the reason is because I travel with a backpack and I had to fit them in. Okay. One thing that I got for you, Mr. Bill O', Donnell, is this pervy lighter with a scantily clad woman on it for you to. [00:36:40] Speaker B: My wife's not gonna like this. [00:36:42] Speaker A: She doesn't have to know. So you can light your willies. Well, we'll edit that part out. [00:36:47] Speaker B: Have it over. [00:36:48] Speaker D: Have it. [00:36:48] Speaker B: If I tip it upside down, does the top come off? [00:36:51] Speaker A: I wish. That would have been cool. [00:36:53] Speaker B: Who is. Who is this girl? I don't know. [00:36:55] Speaker A: I bought it in Chinatown. Same store I got the gift I gave Mark last week. And just because it's kind of a stupid gift, I got you something that's actually Chinese from Chinatown, which is your own very. Your own personalized. Not personalized beef jerky. A set of chopsticks. [00:37:10] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. [00:37:11] Speaker B: I thought it was, like, jerky from here. [00:37:13] Speaker C: Yeah, that's what I thought it was. A pepper army. [00:37:15] Speaker B: Those are very Thoughtful, sweet gifts. Thank you, Christian. [00:37:17] Speaker A: You're very welcome. [00:37:18] Speaker B: I didn't get you anything this week. [00:37:19] Speaker A: That's all right. You gave me that wonderful drawing of Billy Joel last week. [00:37:23] Speaker B: Yeah. You left it here, too. [00:37:25] Speaker A: Yeah, well, I didn't want anything to happen to it. [00:37:28] Speaker B: Yeah. These are nice. Thank you. I need a pair because one of them disappeared down the dishwasher. [00:37:35] Speaker A: Hey. [00:37:35] Speaker D: All right. [00:37:36] Speaker B: Good timing where it went, but it's gone. [00:37:37] Speaker A: I carried that 15 miles walking around Chinatown or around San Francisco. After Chinatown. [00:37:42] Speaker B: Did you eat Chinese food there? I don't think we talked about that last week. I asked you how good. [00:37:47] Speaker A: No, I had some great meals, but no Chinese food. I did go to a bar called Everybody Knows the name of the place, and I can never remember it. It's called Lo Di or something like that. It's by the Funky Buddha, which everybody says that corner is. I just accidentally stumbled upon this place and I found out later it's something everybody knows about and everybody goes to. [00:38:07] Speaker B: But they say it's pretty. Pretty well accepted that San Francisco is known as having the best Chinese food in the country. New York as well. But San Francisco has the best Chinese. [00:38:20] Speaker A: I had. I had some Bangkok wings. That's not China, but. Yeah. And it wasn't a Chinese place, and it wasn't in Chinatown. [00:38:26] Speaker C: I think this gradually rubs off or something. [00:38:29] Speaker B: You think? [00:38:29] Speaker A: You think so? [00:38:30] Speaker C: I think it looks super imposed. [00:38:33] Speaker A: Start rubbing. [00:38:34] Speaker C: Sort of Phoebe Cates ish. [00:38:36] Speaker B: Yeah, I don't have any opinion on it. [00:38:38] Speaker A: Maybe if you warm it up, the clothes disappear. [00:38:41] Speaker C: Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I didn't want to start rubbing it. [00:38:44] Speaker B: Yeah, it's mine to rub, not yours. [00:38:46] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:38:47] Speaker B: That's a nice flame on it, though, right? Very nice. [00:38:53] Speaker C: Anyway. [00:38:54] Speaker B: Very nice lighter that lights. [00:38:55] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:38:56] Speaker B: Nice fairness flame. [00:38:57] Speaker A: Mm. [00:38:59] Speaker B: Great. You're gonna have another pot. Oh, you didn't eat yours? [00:39:02] Speaker C: No, I'm not doing that. [00:39:04] Speaker B: All right, well, I've been waiting on this for two weeks. It's been a. I've known. I've chose this for weeks and weeks, and now it's here, and we're gonna get to talk about someone that, you know, growing up in the 80s was known to all really reference them. [00:39:22] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:39:22] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Well, you didn't grow up in the 80s, did you? [00:39:24] Speaker A: No, I was born in 83, so I had 70 years in the 80s, but, no, I didn't. I was not aware he planted his flag here. [00:39:32] Speaker B: Well, probably in the 70s, but he really became known in the mid-80s, 1984, height of the Reagan era in a film called Moscow on the Hudson starring Robin Williams. Of course. I'm talking about legendary Russian comedian Yakov Smirnoff. [00:39:54] Speaker A: Oh, hold on. [00:39:55] Speaker B: You got applause for that? Too late. [00:40:00] Speaker A: There we go. [00:40:02] Speaker B: Do we figure out is this special called Live from Moscow, Idaho or just from. [00:40:06] Speaker A: From Moscow, Ellipses, Idaho? [00:40:09] Speaker B: Okay, let's just start with some. We'll get into the act. You did watch this? Yes, yes, yes. You weren't excited to watch it, Mark, you said. [00:40:19] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:40:19] Speaker B: Something along the lines of Jesus. [00:40:21] Speaker A: No, it's like. I think he called you the C word. [00:40:24] Speaker B: Did he? [00:40:24] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:40:25] Speaker C: Oh, because it was deliberately picked to annoy me. [00:40:28] Speaker B: No, it wasn't. No, it wasn't. [00:40:30] Speaker C: In fact, I watched it with my own lady because she saw him live in Branson. [00:40:35] Speaker B: Oh, she did what we. You should have brought her in for this. That would have been perfect time for in guest studio. We had one. A couple of guests in here. Yeah, you know. [00:40:46] Speaker A: Yeah, just one. Right? [00:40:48] Speaker B: Just. We had Beth, we've had Bork, we've had Kyle. [00:40:52] Speaker A: They call. [00:40:53] Speaker B: He hasn't really sat. Oh, yeah, she's come in the door, but. Oh, that's right, the scan man. [00:40:58] Speaker A: Yeah, the scamman did come in. That was a good one. [00:41:00] Speaker B: Yeah, Scan man. That would have been great. Well, whatever. What did she say about seeing him in Branson? I've long wanted to get down there and see. See him at his own. [00:41:10] Speaker C: She just said, oh, he's. He's funny. I saw him in Branson. We went there and she said, you saw him, didn't you? I said, no, Jeff and way. And she said, oh, yeah, it was a family trip that they went on, so the whole family was there. [00:41:22] Speaker B: Did you ever go to Branson? [00:41:24] Speaker C: No, I. Obviously everyone looks at me and goes, oh, you love the cheesy bullshit Americana part of it. But it's probably isn't like that anymore, is it? [00:41:33] Speaker B: I've never been and I've spent a lot of time in Missouri. It's, you know, second home. Second home state to me. [00:41:38] Speaker C: And is it kind of like the Dells, I'm assuming? Right. [00:41:41] Speaker B: I think that's fair to say. I'd say it's probably. From what I hear, it's more like. What's the place in Tennessee like? Pigeon Forge or whatever. [00:41:50] Speaker C: That's Dollywood in it. [00:41:51] Speaker B: Yeah. Where Dollywood is. What's the name of that? Christian, what's the name of that place in Tennessee where Dollywood is? Pigeon Forge. But there's a different name for that area. [00:41:58] Speaker A: I don't Know. [00:42:00] Speaker B: Anyway, it's like that kind of a lot of theaters. I think there's some gambling. Was there gambling? I don't know. And he's got his own theater down there. I did my research on him, but I did not really ever come across why he chose Branson to do his [00:42:21] Speaker C: sort of home of middle of the road shite. [00:42:24] Speaker B: No, I'm not arguing with you that it's shite, but it seems too honky tonk for a Russian. [00:42:30] Speaker C: Right? [00:42:30] Speaker B: Like, but maybe that's exactly why, you [00:42:33] Speaker C: know, like, demographic is there. Yeah, but it would show where your fans are. [00:42:38] Speaker B: Yeah, but, but, but racist. You know, like good old boys. They don't like a Russian guy. [00:42:43] Speaker C: Of course they do. All he says is, Russia is crap. America's the greatest. [00:42:47] Speaker B: I guess you're right. [00:42:48] Speaker C: It's pandering. [00:42:49] Speaker B: I guess you're right. Yeah, he does. [00:42:52] Speaker C: I mean, that last line of this special, holy crap. Pour some sugar on me, why don't you? [00:43:00] Speaker B: I love it. And the last line is, you can come to America and become an American. You can't go to France and become a Frenchman, but you can come to America and become American. [00:43:09] Speaker C: Yeah, whatever. [00:43:11] Speaker B: Well, you. You. You're an American now, sort of. [00:43:14] Speaker C: No, I am wherever I am. [00:43:16] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:43:17] Speaker C: I'd be French in France. I'd be. [00:43:19] Speaker B: No, you can't be. You can only be an American. [00:43:22] Speaker C: I'd be an American in France. Yeah, but it wouldn't be American Werewolf in London. [00:43:27] Speaker B: You can't. You can't adopt the. You can adopt the culture, but you can't become them here. And he's right. It's a very profound statement. [00:43:35] Speaker C: No, no, no, no. I went to. I went to. I went to Stockholm on a work assignment one time, and I worked for an American guy who. Who lived in Sweden for several years, and he said, I ain't never leaving Sweden if. If I can stay here, really. And he was public transport, blah, blah, blah, blah. He had seen what Sweden offered and he. And he took it. [00:44:01] Speaker A: I think my sister's calling to tell us about the time that she met Yakov Smirno. [00:44:05] Speaker B: Let's hear it. Get her on. [00:44:07] Speaker C: Get her done. [00:44:09] Speaker A: Hello, you are on the line with. Isn't that special? [00:44:13] Speaker B: Is that the name? [00:44:14] Speaker E: Hello there. Good evening. [00:44:16] Speaker A: Good evening. [00:44:17] Speaker B: Thanks for calling in. [00:44:20] Speaker E: Absolutely. [00:44:21] Speaker A: Hey, what's going on? We're talking about Yakov Smirnoff, and I was just thinking about the time. Didn't you meet him? [00:44:29] Speaker E: I. I met him briefly after I made a couple of signs for him right through a theater In New Jersey, [00:44:38] Speaker B: the wood burnt signs. [00:44:40] Speaker C: You made wood burnt signs? [00:44:42] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:44:42] Speaker C: Please tell me it was America, water country that you burned. [00:44:46] Speaker A: How did you know? Chelsea, wasn't that it? [00:44:51] Speaker E: Yeah, that was it, actually. [00:44:53] Speaker C: It wasn't like women's men's, was it? [00:44:57] Speaker B: Did you ever make the bathroom signs here? Did that ever get done? [00:45:01] Speaker E: I'm at the same spot as I was before, and every time we talk, I work a little bit more on them. [00:45:08] Speaker D: Okay. [00:45:09] Speaker A: That's how it worked with Yakov Smirnoff, wasn't it? [00:45:12] Speaker E: Yeah, that's how it worked with him, too. [00:45:13] Speaker A: Every time you talked to him, you worked, you made one more line on a sign. [00:45:17] Speaker C: How did you get. How did you get the contract? Was it through the website or what? [00:45:22] Speaker E: It's word of mouth. So as a wood burner, somehow, just through my Instagram or through exposure, people learn about it. [00:45:33] Speaker B: You're laughing. Why are you laughing? [00:45:34] Speaker C: Yeah, he's laughing. He's kind of trying. [00:45:36] Speaker A: I'm thinking about something different that's really funny. [00:45:40] Speaker B: Okay, do tell. [00:45:42] Speaker A: I was remembering the joke that he told you. How did it go? [00:45:47] Speaker B: He told you a joke. [00:45:48] Speaker E: How did. How did the joke go? [00:45:49] Speaker A: Yeah, the joke that he told you when you were making him signs. [00:45:53] Speaker E: Well, I tried to give him a little whistle. [00:45:56] Speaker B: What? [00:45:59] Speaker A: Can you expand on that? [00:46:04] Speaker E: There was a couple of things that I made as gifts for when an artist would go to this theater that I would make a gift for the artist on behalf of the theater. And so I was really excited that it was. It was going to be him. And I had this vintage little whistle that I tried to gift to him along with the coasters, and he said, why don't you keep it? And every time you think of me, just give it a little whistle. [00:46:35] Speaker A: Give it a toot. Do you still. Do you have it handy? Have you tooted? [00:46:42] Speaker E: I just came across it the other day. [00:46:44] Speaker A: Yeah. Okay, great. Perfect timing. [00:46:49] Speaker B: Now tell us about him. I'm fascinated with Yakov Smirnoff. What kind of guy is he? [00:46:55] Speaker E: You know, for some reason, I'm having a hard time hearing. [00:46:58] Speaker A: Yeah, you got to speak up, because it's. [00:47:00] Speaker B: You turned my mic off. Because I was. [00:47:02] Speaker A: No, no, no. It doesn't. We've gone over this. It doesn't go back through the board, through the phone. So you got to talk loud enough so the phone can hear you. [00:47:08] Speaker B: Oh, hello. Is that too loud? [00:47:11] Speaker E: Hello there. [00:47:11] Speaker B: Hi. [00:47:12] Speaker E: That's perfect. [00:47:13] Speaker B: Okay. What kind of guy is Yakov Smirnov? [00:47:17] Speaker E: He's the kind of guy that will tell you to Toot a little whistle. [00:47:21] Speaker B: Okay. [00:47:21] Speaker E: What do you think about him? No, but he was. He was a professional. [00:47:25] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:47:26] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:47:27] Speaker B: He seems like such a nice guy. I mean, we just watched his special and he just seems so lovely. [00:47:34] Speaker A: Was he lovely? [00:47:35] Speaker E: He was pretty lovely. I thought he was lovely. [00:47:38] Speaker B: Yeah, he seems like a lovely guy. Really nice guy. [00:47:40] Speaker E: Genuine. [00:47:42] Speaker B: So he either is that, which I want to believe, or sometimes when guys come across like that, they're real pigs, you know, they're just. That's an act. [00:47:50] Speaker E: Well, yeah, for him, he's. He's a thousand percent nice guy. [00:47:53] Speaker B: Love it. [00:47:54] Speaker A: Look at that. [00:47:54] Speaker C: Well, he must be good with the ladies because he just had it his. [00:47:57] Speaker B: Yes. [00:47:58] Speaker C: Last kid at age 72. Dirty old man. [00:48:02] Speaker B: I think it was 75. [00:48:03] Speaker E: Wow. [00:48:04] Speaker B: Thereabouts. [00:48:05] Speaker C: 75 now. [00:48:06] Speaker B: Just had a baby. Yeah. [00:48:08] Speaker C: Unbelievable. [00:48:09] Speaker B: And do you see how he looks? He looks fantastic. [00:48:12] Speaker A: Does he? [00:48:12] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:48:13] Speaker B: He's gotta be Botox to the hilt. [00:48:15] Speaker A: You think he does Botox? [00:48:16] Speaker B: Come on. Have you seen pictures? [00:48:17] Speaker A: Did he look Botox when you met him? [00:48:20] Speaker E: No, not back then. [00:48:21] Speaker B: When was it that you met him? [00:48:23] Speaker E: It was at least 10 years ago now. [00:48:25] Speaker B: Okay, yeah, maybe, but now. [00:48:27] Speaker E: So that would have been the right [00:48:28] Speaker B: young age of 65. 65, yeah. He looks terrific. [00:48:33] Speaker A: Yeah. It was his 65th birthday. He was in town for. [00:48:36] Speaker B: Right, yeah. Well, this is great. To get some inside information on Yakov. [00:48:43] Speaker A: Right? [00:48:45] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:48:46] Speaker B: Anything else about him? Anything else come to mind? [00:48:53] Speaker E: Nothing else rings a bell. [00:48:56] Speaker A: Is that the extent? All right. [00:48:59] Speaker B: This is like a police interview. [00:49:00] Speaker C: He didn't. [00:49:01] Speaker B: Anything else you remember about the incident? [00:49:04] Speaker C: He didn't ask you anything about the techniques or intricacies of wood burning? [00:49:09] Speaker E: No, no, not at all. People get. They get the gist. [00:49:13] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:49:14] Speaker E: You know, they see it, they think they understand. [00:49:19] Speaker B: Well, I think I speak for Mark. I think the Lincoln Lodge would also like a America, what a country, wood burnt sign for the. For the venue. It'd be cool. [00:49:30] Speaker E: Okay, that will be the second one I made this year. [00:49:34] Speaker C: All right. [00:49:34] Speaker B: All right, done. [00:49:36] Speaker C: Just build a link I actually know for the podcast. [00:49:38] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah. [00:49:39] Speaker B: And here would be great. Yeah. All right, we'll chip in and get. [00:49:42] Speaker C: What about. What about. Isn't that special? What a podcast? [00:49:49] Speaker B: Yeah, that'd be good. [00:49:52] Speaker A: We do need to hang that on the wall. [00:49:54] Speaker B: Something about that. With a sloth. Can you wood bur. A sloth with a microphone? [00:49:58] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, yeah, I absolutely could. No, we need a sloth wearing a babushka. [00:50:03] Speaker B: Yeah. Yes, yes. I mean, you've already got it figured out. [00:50:08] Speaker C: It's getting a little. [00:50:08] Speaker E: I Can do a sloth or a babushka. I can't do both. [00:50:12] Speaker A: It's one or the other. Right. All right, thanks for the call. Thanks for the inside information. [00:50:19] Speaker E: Absolutely. Talk to you later. [00:50:21] Speaker A: Bye. [00:50:21] Speaker E: Bye. Bye. [00:50:23] Speaker B: There you have it. [00:50:24] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:50:24] Speaker B: Now, can I speak in a normal voice now? [00:50:26] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:50:27] Speaker B: Okay. [00:50:27] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:50:27] Speaker A: You can go back to. [00:50:28] Speaker B: Jeez. I was saying all kinds of things. I don't think she heard anything, so she corrected me. Okay. Well, here's some information she did not tell us about Yakov Smirnoff. Net worth of Yakov Smirnoff. What do you think it's gonna be? [00:50:45] Speaker C: Millions. [00:50:46] Speaker A: $8.5 million. No. $4.8 million. [00:50:51] Speaker B: No. $20 million. [00:50:54] Speaker C: I was gonna say 20. [00:50:55] Speaker A: God damn it. [00:50:57] Speaker B: Net worth of Smirnoff Vodka, which came up in the search. [00:51:01] Speaker A: Net worth of Smirnoff Vodka. [00:51:04] Speaker C: I think he's owned by, like, Scottish distilleries or someone now, right? [00:51:07] Speaker D: I don't know. [00:51:08] Speaker B: $750 million, $850 billion for Smirnoff vodka. Could that be. [00:51:16] Speaker A: That's crazy. [00:51:17] Speaker B: Well, when you think about it, they sell a US Sports team for that amount, right? [00:51:20] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:51:24] Speaker B: Did you know where. Well, it's probably no secret. His name is not Smirnoff. They asked him that in the Q and A and the Special. He doesn't. [00:51:31] Speaker C: Yeah. He wouldn't answer it. [00:51:32] Speaker B: But he did pick the name Smirnoff for its familiarity with the vodka. [00:51:37] Speaker A: And it worked. [00:51:37] Speaker B: Sure did. Sure did. Other things to know about Yakov Smirnoff holds two advanced degrees, one from the University of Pennsylvania and a psychology doctorate from Pepperdine University. [00:51:53] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:51:53] Speaker B: That he got later in life. In 2019. He got a doctor. [00:51:56] Speaker C: But are these honorees or natural? Did it. [00:51:59] Speaker B: Actually did it. [00:52:00] Speaker A: How old is his wife or whoever's having his. [00:52:04] Speaker B: I didn't find out her age, but he picked her up in 2019 when [00:52:08] Speaker A: he was getting his doctorate. That's what I was thinking. [00:52:10] Speaker C: She's a Russian bride. [00:52:11] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:52:13] Speaker C: Smirnoff Vodka is owned by the British multinational beverage company Diageo. I knew it was England. [00:52:21] Speaker A: Typical British thing to do. [00:52:22] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:52:23] Speaker B: Movies. Riyakov was in Money Pit. Great film. Tom Hanks. Shelley Long. [00:52:28] Speaker C: When was he in that? [00:52:29] Speaker B: I don't remember. He's probably. I think he's the contractor or something. [00:52:32] Speaker C: Or I mix him up with Balki. [00:52:34] Speaker B: Yeah. Bronson pin show, you're thinking. [00:52:37] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:52:38] Speaker B: Brewster's Millions, Heartburn with Jack Lemmon. TV shows, Night Court. He had a reoccurring character on the. The great TV show Night Court, which came on after Cheers. And this is the most amazing thing. Maybe not to you, but to me. When he came here in 77, he went up to the Comedy Store and became a regular there. And while living in la, was roommates with, you guessed it, Andrew Dice Clay. [00:53:08] Speaker A: Really? [00:53:08] Speaker B: Can you imagine these two living together? [00:53:10] Speaker A: That is like perfect dangers. [00:53:11] Speaker C: God, it would be. Every day would be a laugh riot. [00:53:15] Speaker B: Dyson and Yakov, God in heaven. Both Jewish. Yeah. I want to say this as well, then we can talk about his act if you want. Probably don't want to. When he comes on and he starts talking, who comes to mind immediately? [00:53:36] Speaker C: Cosby. [00:53:37] Speaker A: What, because of the sweater? [00:53:39] Speaker C: Sweater. And the sweater and the. [00:53:42] Speaker B: Okay, that's fair to say that, but then not. No, he. He sounds like, looks like, acts like. [00:53:51] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:53:51] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [00:53:52] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:53:54] Speaker B: Borat. I mean, to me, like this. [00:53:57] Speaker A: No. [00:53:57] Speaker B: Yes. I guarantee you Sacha Baron Cohen based his character on this fucking guy. It's the way he talks, the cadence of the way he talks. It is so similar to Borat. No, he obviously tweaks it in a different way, but it's. It's rooted in Yakov Smirnoff. Borat. [00:54:14] Speaker C: I mean, the kind of lovable simpleton. [00:54:17] Speaker B: Like. [00:54:20] Speaker C: Like I'm. [00:54:20] Speaker B: I'm nice and naive. [00:54:23] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:54:23] Speaker B: Like, I don't get it, you know, like that whole thing. [00:54:27] Speaker C: But Sasha Baron Cohen would have absolutely no awareness of Yakov Smirnoff. [00:54:33] Speaker B: Why? [00:54:34] Speaker C: Because Yakov Smirnoff never left America. [00:54:38] Speaker A: But they have TVs all over the place. [00:54:40] Speaker B: I never Cohen from. [00:54:42] Speaker C: He's English, so he would not have been exposed to him unless it was very lighter. [00:54:50] Speaker B: He's English. [00:54:51] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:54:57] Speaker B: See a mank. [00:54:58] Speaker C: No, I think he's from the southeast somewhere. [00:55:02] Speaker B: Hey, you're gonna say you're gonna see that Oasis documentary. Looks good. [00:55:06] Speaker C: I swore it off to the missus, was like, we should see. And I'm like, no, it's gonna be. And everyone's raving about it like it's heartfelt. It really. [00:55:15] Speaker B: I want to see it. [00:55:16] Speaker C: It's not about them arguing. It's. It's caught. The one review said it's called Don't Look Back in Anger. And they don't. They look at this is what this tour meant to people. [00:55:26] Speaker B: Yeah. People are probably going to see it to think they're going to have it out. Yeah, it's not going to happen. [00:55:31] Speaker C: Yeah, it ain't happening. [00:55:32] Speaker B: That's cool. [00:55:32] Speaker C: So I might actually go see it. [00:55:34] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:55:34] Speaker C: Because a lot of them said this is about how what this tour and comeback meant to their fans, and I'm one of them, so. Yeah. [00:55:43] Speaker B: Yeah, you are. And you went to the tour. [00:55:45] Speaker C: Yes, I did. [00:55:46] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:55:46] Speaker D: I wonder. [00:55:46] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:55:47] Speaker B: They have any Soldier Field footage? [00:55:50] Speaker C: Did you ever see the. The Ali G interview of Becks and Beck Beckham? [00:55:56] Speaker B: Probably, if. Because I saw it all back in the day, but it was [00:56:03] Speaker C: rough. [00:56:03] Speaker B: You think they were in on the Joker now? [00:56:05] Speaker C: Oh, they. I mean, they went along with it kind of thing, but he was just brutal about the Spice Girls and stuff. And you just like. I mean, it was. It was done for Comic Relief, so I don't think they could back out of it. But I always remember from the Ali G show, do you remember when he goes to interview some American farmer and he pretends he has no idea of what a chicken is? And the last shot of the thing is just this farmer just like. Like, head in his hands. Holy crap. [00:56:35] Speaker B: Those are so brilliant. That show is so brilliant. [00:56:39] Speaker A: You know, somebody who's telling me what he's been doing recently is he's approaching pretentious rich people with. He's acting as a chef that uses his own bodily fluids in his meals, in his dishes, and in telling them, yes, this has, you know, this of mine and this has this of the. In. [00:57:00] Speaker C: And then trying to make him eat. [00:57:01] Speaker A: He offers it to them to eat. And because they're on camera, because they want to act like, oh, yes, I am so, yeah. Willing to try new things. They'll. They'll actually eat it and say it's good. [00:57:11] Speaker C: How can you not know, Sasha Baron? [00:57:13] Speaker A: How can you not know by now? Well, you know, maybe like you were saying, people in England wouldn't know who Yakov Smirnoff is. There's got to be a certain class of people that have just are oblivious to that sort of entertainment. [00:57:25] Speaker C: Right. I haven't watched the last two Sasha Baron Cohen films because they're just too painful now. [00:57:32] Speaker A: Yeah, it gets. [00:57:33] Speaker C: I mean, you just can't. [00:57:34] Speaker B: Like, this is a new one coming out, too. [00:57:37] Speaker C: I can't watch him anymore. [00:57:39] Speaker A: I watched Borat again recently for the first time in, like, probably 10 years. And God, I was laughing so hard. [00:57:44] Speaker C: I know, it's hilarious. [00:57:45] Speaker A: It holds up so well. [00:57:46] Speaker C: But the goddamn squirm factor. [00:57:48] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:57:49] Speaker C: Did you watch the. Was the gay supermodel one? [00:57:53] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:57:53] Speaker C: And he gets that, like. He gets that guy, the politician in the room, and starts, like, prancing around it. [00:58:00] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:58:01] Speaker C: Oh, my gosh. [00:58:02] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:58:03] Speaker C: I'm literally like, get me out of this. Too much And I just. [00:58:09] Speaker B: I never know. Like, you want to believe it's real, but is it? I don't know. [00:58:13] Speaker C: I think it is you. I mean, it's right up your. It's must be made for you. [00:58:17] Speaker B: Well, I'm certainly. [00:58:18] Speaker C: It's nihilism at the peak. [00:58:21] Speaker B: Comedy nihilism. [00:58:22] Speaker C: Yeah. At its peak. [00:58:24] Speaker B: Yeah. How did you like the. The. The living room that he set up? I thought that was pretty cool. [00:58:33] Speaker A: I liked it. I like that. That rug. [00:58:35] Speaker B: The rug. [00:58:36] Speaker C: It's a nice production. [00:58:37] Speaker B: Yeah, it really was. And the intro when they're all the people are. It's snowing out and they're all filing in that they're like, it's Russia. [00:58:45] Speaker A: Did you see the old woman in the box office? [00:58:48] Speaker B: I don't think he had, like. [00:58:50] Speaker A: I don't know. How would you. How you would find the casting was great. If you look carefully inside, behind the window at the box office, an old Russian woman with like the classic. When you think of the black head scar. Yep. Pulled over and, you know, and the look on the face and, you know, just scowl. Yeah. A million years of just cold weather and, you know, hard living on her face. [00:59:14] Speaker C: Have you worked with many Russians? I've worked with tons of Russians and they're nothing like. [00:59:19] Speaker A: Oh, for sure. Yeah. [00:59:20] Speaker B: What do you mean? [00:59:22] Speaker C: Well, maybe because I always work with Russians in it, so they're all minted and incredible. You know, Russia has the highest standard of education in the world still, I think. [00:59:32] Speaker A: Really? [00:59:32] Speaker C: Even. Even after its atrophied. [00:59:35] Speaker B: Is that. Is that right? [00:59:36] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:59:36] Speaker A: Even higher than, like Japan. [00:59:38] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:59:39] Speaker A: Wow. [00:59:40] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:59:41] Speaker B: They have such a strong academic work ethic. [00:59:43] Speaker C: Yeah. They just have a good academic system. [00:59:47] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:59:48] Speaker A: Huh. [00:59:48] Speaker B: So that's a vote for communism right there. [00:59:52] Speaker A: Yeah. Are they okay? It's gonna sound dumb. Is Russia still communist? [00:59:57] Speaker C: Yeah, I mean, officially. Yeah. But no, I work with a guy who is from there and he said basically, in Russia you pay protection either to the police or to the mafia. [01:00:09] Speaker A: Okay. [01:00:10] Speaker C: To protection to one of the two. And it's just so corrupt and. [01:00:14] Speaker A: Yes. That I knew. [01:00:16] Speaker B: But the ideology is not come off the wall. [01:00:19] Speaker C: No. I mean, there's Russian oligarchs now. You can't have that in communism. [01:00:22] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. I thought the production was really good. Right. Like, this is 1991. Like, I don't know, like, it's. That's what. What also interests me is, like, what. What. Was there a precedent for this kind of special at the time? Where did this originally air? Like, he's got the. The way he did that Living room with the. Then he sat down the chair and like turned on the TV to show you something. Then he sat down at the desk later on to write. Re. Read the letter and stuff like that was like we've seen somewhat. It reminded me of felt face a little bit. Right. I thought that was really well done. The intro. That looked like a movie theater to me though. Like the outside of it, it was just like a. [01:01:02] Speaker A: Yes. [01:01:03] Speaker C: Couldn't have been that big because unless they had some advanced technology and was showing all his sketch bullshit on a big screen that you couldn't see, the audience must have been watching it on that telly. [01:01:17] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't know. They must have had something bigger, don't you think? What do you think of his teeth? Are those real? Those teeth look like caps. [01:01:26] Speaker A: I didn't know. [01:01:27] Speaker B: Beautiful set of teeth. [01:01:28] Speaker C: I don't know. [01:01:29] Speaker B: God. They were all just one. The same. They're all in the same. Same exact roll in a row. [01:01:35] Speaker C: What were the two black dots on each? [01:01:37] Speaker A: Those are microphones. [01:01:38] Speaker C: They were my. But he had a. I thought he had an actual lavalier on the lapel. [01:01:43] Speaker A: I didn't see that. [01:01:44] Speaker B: I figured there were microphones. [01:01:45] Speaker A: Yeah, me too. I just assumed. [01:01:46] Speaker B: Yeah. That was odd to not to be a stand up out there with no microphone, just talking. [01:01:52] Speaker D: Right. [01:01:52] Speaker B: He's a skewed the microphone. [01:01:54] Speaker A: Who else do we have? We review that's done that. [01:01:57] Speaker B: No microphone at all. [01:01:58] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:01:58] Speaker B: I can't think. [01:01:59] Speaker A: Well, I mean he does have a microphone, but he's not holding one. [01:02:01] Speaker B: Yeah, but there's no visible microphone. [01:02:03] Speaker A: Right. [01:02:04] Speaker C: The only other person up comedy, the only other person I know who doesn't use a mic is Eddie Izzard. [01:02:11] Speaker B: Stuart Lee uses a mic. Do you walk the stage with a mic? [01:02:14] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:02:14] Speaker D: I don't remember. [01:02:15] Speaker C: Yep. [01:02:16] Speaker B: Yeah. Everything I knew. Well, not everything, but so much of what I knew about Russia is honestly from Yakov Smirnoff's act. [01:02:26] Speaker C: Oh boy. [01:02:27] Speaker B: Like Russian history from Yakov Smirnoff. Like the lines, the. The fast food, like, you know, all that shit, like is just from watching Yakov Smirnoff as a kid. That's all I really paid attention to. [01:02:43] Speaker C: Did you have Cold War fear? [01:02:46] Speaker B: Did you wake up like a nuclear war? No, I never really felt that. You know, I grew up on the [01:02:54] Speaker C: tail end of it because I had nuclear war fear, big time. But it was more about like Reagan was a lunatic. So I thought, well, the Russians are European. I can. I think I'm more relatable to them. To me, Reagan Was the one who's like, I don't give a shit. I'll blow this thing to bits if you. If you give me any bullshit, cowboy Ron Reagan. So, yeah, I never had that whole thing of all the Russians are the bad guys. [01:03:21] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. They definitely were it for us. [01:03:22] Speaker A: Did I ever talk about when Reagan left office? They were clearing out his desk and he had a stack of three by five cards with jokes written on him that he had written himself to fit. Different situation where different people from other countries would come visit. [01:03:34] Speaker B: That's amazing that you bring that up, because in the. In what I researched about Yakov, he was in Reagan's inner circle. Reagan used him to write jokes for when he was entertaining with the Russians. [01:03:45] Speaker C: One of the photos on the mantelpiece was him and his Mrs. With the Reagan. [01:03:49] Speaker A: Oh, okay. [01:03:50] Speaker C: He was. [01:03:50] Speaker B: He was very much in their inner circle. [01:03:52] Speaker A: He had. He had a pretty good one about Russia. [01:03:55] Speaker B: Reagan. [01:03:56] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:03:56] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, what was it? Because I. [01:03:58] Speaker A: The joke. Yeah. Basically this guy in Soviet Russia, he wants to buy a car, save up money for years to buy an automobile. And he goes in to buy it and they say, great, yeah, you have the money and everything. The thing is, the car won't be ready until 10 years from today. It takes that long to assemble it and to get it to you. So in 10 years from today, how does that work for you? Can you come back around this time and get it? And he said, I don't know. The plumber's coming at three. [01:04:31] Speaker B: Three. In ten years. [01:04:32] Speaker A: Three p.m. in ten years? Yeah. On the same day. [01:04:36] Speaker B: Yeah, It's a groaner. Groaner of a joke. [01:04:41] Speaker A: I like it. [01:04:42] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:04:42] Speaker A: Yeah. It's right up my alley. [01:04:44] Speaker C: So he told that joke to Gorbachev. [01:04:46] Speaker A: Yep. [01:04:47] Speaker B: Yeah. And the jokes would land too. Like, they liked these jokes. Like it? It seems like. [01:04:53] Speaker C: Yeah. But it's going through a translator. [01:04:55] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, I guess you're right. Well, I expect here's. Okay, so I did not choose this to upset you. I joke about Yakov Smirnoff. To me, Yakov Smirnoff was the whipping post of comedy. Like, he was the example of, like, the worst kind of comedy. Like, the most. More than Gallagher right there, who I think also did a lot of Branson work too. But, like, Gallagher, he was of that echelon. [01:05:21] Speaker A: Right. [01:05:22] Speaker B: Or lower echelon. So I expected this to be just horrendous and it was a little too. Yuck. Yucky, I guess. And, I don't know, simple or whatever. What do you want to call it, like, cheesy or abysmal? No, I expected that. But it was nice. [01:05:43] Speaker E: It was. [01:05:43] Speaker B: Honestly, it was nice. I liked it. It was. It was an enjoyable watch. I enjoyed this and laughed at some of it, and I thought it was just really well done and well thought out. And you know what? And I say this, I think a lot when we look at comedians, this shit had heart. This guy's genuine. That's why when Chelsea came on, I want to know, like, whether he was a smarmy guy or he was as lovely as he seems. And she said, she affirmed it. Like, I think this is a lovely guy. If you take a lovely person and put them on stage and they give you their earnest act, I don't know how you can't like it. Right. It might not be the funniest thing. You're not rolling over laughing. It's not subversive or Lenny Bruce or vulgar. But this is a lovely guy doing lovely, heartfelt humor. And when he gets emotional at the end, I know you thought that was cheesy and talks about America, like, I think it's true. I think he's. He's being genuine with it. And I don't. You call me a nihilist. You're. Whatever this. You're jaded. And what. Like, this is nice, wholesome, good comedy to me, and I really enjoyed it. I. I want to see more. I want to see more. This is good American family values comedy. Good fun for the whole family. And it's a little. It's a little racy at times. Talking about his parents making love while he looks out the window, that's. Oh, yeah, brilliant, you know, and then seeing other boys looking out the window at him whose parents are also making love. Some brilliance in some of this shit. [01:07:12] Speaker A: Really? [01:07:14] Speaker B: Yeah, I think so. [01:07:15] Speaker A: I felt like his punch lines, it reminded me of sitting on the shore of Lake Michigan at night, watching the planes come in. You could see him from a mile away. [01:07:22] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:07:23] Speaker C: Yeah. I. Yeah, I think you liking this is more about what's going on in your head than Yakov Smirnoff's head. [01:07:30] Speaker B: What's going on in my head? [01:07:31] Speaker C: I'm analyzing. [01:07:32] Speaker B: You go ahead. [01:07:33] Speaker C: This is. This is something you need, right? [01:07:36] Speaker A: Yes. [01:07:36] Speaker B: Why do I need it? [01:07:37] Speaker A: Yeah. Because everything's so. Everything's falling apart. [01:07:40] Speaker B: My life is falling. [01:07:41] Speaker A: So you need some stability. That's why you like the living room. [01:07:43] Speaker C: Look, you want to see. You want to see something nice, right? [01:07:47] Speaker A: Something stable. [01:07:49] Speaker C: You're tired of watching Todd's salons movies. You want to See some Yakov Smirnoff. [01:07:56] Speaker B: Well, I've always been like that. Right. Like you. I always wanted to be Jerry Seinfeld. I wanted that kind of comedy, but it just wasn't me. I was too dark soul. [01:08:07] Speaker C: You know, I had to keep my gob shot watching this because I knew if I started coming out with my usual comments, my. Like, I was sat watching it with Heather, and she would just be pissed off at my cynicism. Darkness. And so I just didn't say. I just didn't say GD word. [01:08:26] Speaker B: Did you want to just shit all over this? [01:08:28] Speaker C: Yeah. You know, I would have sat there going, oh, you know, and I thought, if I do that now you're just [01:08:35] Speaker A: annoying the person next to you. [01:08:36] Speaker C: I'm in big trouble. [01:08:38] Speaker B: Oh, you're enjoying it. [01:08:39] Speaker C: Yeah. Especially after the. The. The packers had just the time. I was like, yeah, I was like, I'm on borrowed time air. [01:08:48] Speaker B: If I clam up play, I just [01:08:50] Speaker C: need to shut up and let it play. So I never said anything. [01:08:57] Speaker B: Yeah, okay. Well, that's. That was kind of big of you, you know. [01:09:01] Speaker C: Well, someone else's time. [01:09:03] Speaker B: Yeah, I should do more of that. I tend to ruin people's time. How about the joke before we. We wrap this up? And. And Europe we have. See, that sounds like boring. [01:09:18] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:09:18] Speaker B: In Europe, we have. Or in Russia, we have saying about women. Women are like buses. That's it. There's nothing else. Yeah, that's what we. Something like that. That was it. [01:09:31] Speaker C: At that point, I turned to Heather and said, I always thought Russian women were hot, which is a bad thing to say. [01:09:38] Speaker B: Yeah. You should know better. [01:09:40] Speaker C: Russian women are famous for being hot. [01:09:42] Speaker A: Yeah, they are. You can think some. Some now think people are attractive. You're just a. [01:09:47] Speaker C: They always. [01:09:47] Speaker A: Guy with eyeballs. You're just like. You're just a human being. [01:09:51] Speaker C: The first place in Eastern Europe I ever went was Poland. Right. And the whole weeks before, we were joking about, oh, gonna cop off with Olga the shot putter. You know what we're talking. We go to Poland, our goddamn jaws hit the floor. [01:10:08] Speaker B: Really? [01:10:10] Speaker C: Five minutes after we get off the bus in Poland, we're like, jesus Christ. [01:10:15] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:10:16] Speaker C: There is not one not smoking 10 out of 10 in this country. [01:10:21] Speaker A: When I was growing up, one of my closest friends, his family, his parents were off the boat from Poland, and they would go to a lot of Polish festivals and stuff. And I would like out, like, you know, you're camping, you know, and just full of Polish people. I'd be the only non Polish Person there, same deal, just one knockout of show. Oh my God. [01:10:37] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:10:37] Speaker A: Smoke show. [01:10:37] Speaker B: Geez. I would never think that. [01:10:39] Speaker C: And the whole, the whole thing in the, you know, in the media and stuff was like, yeah, they're all like Russian. Yeah, they're all shot putters with like more testosterone. [01:10:48] Speaker B: Yeah, that's what I would think. [01:10:48] Speaker C: And that was the same for Russia. Yep. [01:10:53] Speaker B: Well, who knew? [01:10:55] Speaker C: Rise of Betrayed his own people, I guess. [01:10:59] Speaker B: But. But he says that like, you know, that's a misconception that, you know, they kind of debunked that. And Gorbachev's wife, who I don't remember being an attractive woman. [01:11:08] Speaker C: Rise a Gorbachev, but she wasn't staggeringly attractive. It was just that we'd been fed this line about Russia and now his. [01:11:16] Speaker A: Like the bar is so low that even a medium set bar. Yeah, it's higher than you. [01:11:22] Speaker B: What's the, what's the prevailing opinion about American women overseas? That they're attractive or. [01:11:27] Speaker C: No, I mean, obviously it's like Scandinavia is viewed as like, okay, that's the elite kind of thing, right. American women. It's hard because when you're foreigner, American culture is just rammed down your throat. Movies and this and that and the other thing. So I think you get a. More of a spread and it's more of a neutral, like cancels itself out. Yeah. Because it's like, well, you're getting, you know, all these like hot movie stars and stuff. For me, growing up, it was always, you know, English kids were like, oh, Scandinavian women, the top, top line. And then Dutch women. I always. But they're. They're. They're fraus. They're. They're Amazons. I mean, no one in Holland is, is less than 6 foot 3, which is intimidating. [01:12:23] Speaker B: Well, I'm surprised you're not asking. Christian and I. [01:12:25] Speaker D: What. [01:12:25] Speaker B: What our opinion has always been of. [01:12:28] Speaker C: Well, I am. Give me a second. [01:12:31] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:12:31] Speaker C: Okay, so you've got. What. Who are these Twiggy Kate Beckinsale. Premental health issues. [01:12:41] Speaker B: Mental health issues. [01:12:43] Speaker C: Major. [01:12:44] Speaker B: I did not. Milla Jovovich. [01:12:47] Speaker C: She's Russian, she's German, ain't she? [01:12:50] Speaker B: What do you. What are your thoughts about great British women? [01:12:54] Speaker E: Oh, [01:12:57] Speaker A: yeah. I don't know because my samples from shows like the In Betweeners. Okay. You know. [01:13:02] Speaker C: Oh God, that's a great cultural. [01:13:04] Speaker A: But here's the thing. Every time on the In Betweeners, when they say, oh, she's fit, you know, like that is a smoking hot woman, I look at her like, I don't [01:13:11] Speaker E: know, [01:13:14] Speaker A: like a solid Five or six. No, I don't think so. I think it's. It's because it's an island and there's too much inbreeding. [01:13:20] Speaker B: Yes. That's what our feelings are. That are inbred. [01:13:23] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:13:23] Speaker E: Gross. [01:13:24] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:13:25] Speaker B: Over there. No offense. [01:13:26] Speaker A: Spain. [01:13:28] Speaker B: It's a stereotype. [01:13:29] Speaker A: Spain, The. The garbage. The. The women like that work for the. [01:13:33] Speaker B: The sanitation. [01:13:35] Speaker C: They style this back. [01:13:36] Speaker A: What? [01:13:37] Speaker C: You're both paddy lads. [01:13:38] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:13:39] Speaker C: Ireland is even smaller and more in bread. [01:13:43] Speaker A: Yeah, but it's. But it's been invaded enough times that they. They spread their seed around a little more. England just. It stays to itself. [01:13:51] Speaker B: Beauty comes from diversity. [01:13:52] Speaker C: And who has Ireland been invaded by? [01:13:55] Speaker A: The British. [01:13:55] Speaker D: Yeah, [01:13:58] Speaker C: see, logic. Your logic's just crumbling. [01:14:00] Speaker A: No, no, no, no, no. Because. Because in England, it's all just bouncing off. But yeah, Genghis Khan invaded Ireland just. [01:14:08] Speaker C: Just in just a historical note, England has been invaded more times than anyone in this entire planet. [01:14:15] Speaker B: Oh, so they should have some diversity in that gene pool. [01:14:18] Speaker A: Well, nobody. Nobody wanted to sleep with them. [01:14:20] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:14:21] Speaker B: They invaded, and then they turned around, [01:14:23] Speaker A: they came over, they said, we got to go. [01:14:26] Speaker C: Anyway. What was your question? [01:14:28] Speaker B: I didn't have a question. [01:14:29] Speaker C: Sorry, I interrupted you. I said rewind. [01:14:31] Speaker B: No, we were going on it. [01:14:32] Speaker A: He was. [01:14:33] Speaker B: I'm gonna save him from gushing about Spanish. [01:14:36] Speaker A: I was gonna span. I was gonna say something really nice. Yeah. When I was over there, even the women that work for the sanitation department walking down the street, emptying bins into a garden. Smoking hot. [01:14:45] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:14:45] Speaker A: I couldn't believe it. Everywhere you looked, the people that worked. You know, you go to the airport through here, and it's one thing, but even at the airport, like, everybody was a supermodel. I couldn't believe it. [01:14:56] Speaker B: Something else sounds like you guys have what's called the wandering eye, and that's something I don't. And I just want to end this conversation by saying I like women from America and rockford in particular. Rockford, Illinois. [01:15:11] Speaker A: Rockford, huh? [01:15:12] Speaker B: Yeah. One in particular, you mean? I only got eyes for that. [01:15:15] Speaker C: Roseanne Barr. [01:15:16] Speaker B: No, that's. That's. It's not rockford. [01:15:19] Speaker C: It's. Yeah, Roseanne's from Roxford. Roxford, right. [01:15:23] Speaker B: It's not rockford for it. It's something else. It's like Rockland Rock. I don't know. Anyway, neither her nor here nor there. Her nor him. Let's vote on Yakov Shmir. [01:15:34] Speaker A: I'm gonna. [01:15:35] Speaker B: I'm gonna open the voting, or I'm gonna open it with saying I was really pleasantly Surprised? I thought this was going to be a goof. I did want to have a goof. Not at Gary's expense at all, but I thought it'd be fun to look at somebody like this. And I just came away just impressed and pleasantly surprised. And I thought, this is a great, great piece of comedy and just entertainment. I'm giving it four out of five. What are we gonna say? Gorbachevs or [01:16:08] Speaker A: rubles or windows? [01:16:10] Speaker B: Windows. [01:16:11] Speaker A: Hey, let me ask you this real quick. Do you think. What do you think the difference would be? The crowd is in Idaho, obviously. [01:16:18] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:16:19] Speaker A: What do you think he would get the same laughs from a crowd and say Brooklyn? Yeah. [01:16:23] Speaker B: No. [01:16:24] Speaker A: Right. [01:16:25] Speaker C: Well, he's heavily, heavily established at this point, so wherever he plays, he's getting his fans. [01:16:30] Speaker A: You think so? [01:16:31] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:16:31] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:16:32] Speaker C: Here's an interesting one. Guess which female comedian is from Rockford, Illinois, and actually, I'm not doing this one. [01:16:41] Speaker B: This is where we talked about this. [01:16:43] Speaker A: Why? [01:16:43] Speaker B: We already talked about this. The whole thing got me in trouble [01:16:47] Speaker C: because I said she stayed in my. She stayed in my guest room one time. [01:16:52] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, she did. Stayed at the condo. [01:16:55] Speaker C: At the condo. All right, let's carry on. What are we doing? Writing. [01:16:58] Speaker A: Well, who is it? What's the answer to that? [01:17:01] Speaker B: Quite his question. Natasha Leggero, remember in episode two of I don't think it was called Isn't that Special at the time, but whatever it was called at the time, he said, how Natasha. I confused Maria Bamford with Natasha Leggero. And he said, oh, no, no, I don't know. Natasha Leggero stayed at my house one time. And I go, oh, did you snip? Why am I retelling this story? [01:17:25] Speaker C: Because you made a racy comment. [01:17:26] Speaker B: A racy comment. I really got the business for it, and I take it back. I should never have made that. I don't even. It was just a throwaway joke. I was doing jokes. [01:17:35] Speaker C: You're still doing bits at that point. [01:17:37] Speaker B: I'm not doing bits anymore. [01:17:38] Speaker C: All right, four out of five rubles. [01:17:40] Speaker A: Four out of five rubles. All right, great. Yeah. I could appreciate it for what it was. I didn't think it was the funniest thing I've seen, but I could appreciate it. And I give it a three. [01:17:48] Speaker D: Three. [01:17:50] Speaker B: You got to give it at least a three, bro. [01:17:52] Speaker C: I'm on. I'm on the fence between one and. I'll go two. Because it had production value. [01:17:56] Speaker B: One and two. [01:17:58] Speaker C: Two. I'll give it two. Production value. [01:18:00] Speaker B: Give it a two and a half. [01:18:01] Speaker A: No, two well, we average out at three. [01:18:04] Speaker B: What? Yeah, I guess the production value, it was a nice mixed media thing. I even liked how he ended it with a Q and A. Like, anybody got any questions for me? You know, they seem like real questions. [01:18:14] Speaker C: It was just comedy by rope. [01:18:16] Speaker B: Yeah, well, I don't know about that. No, I don't think so. [01:18:19] Speaker C: At one point I seriously thought, when I was interested in performing still, should I just write a load of shitty jokes about having bad teeth and. [01:18:28] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:18:29] Speaker C: Being pale and blah, blah, blah, and just tore it to rooms full of people. Yes, just. [01:18:35] Speaker B: And, like, put in the Billy Bob teeth. [01:18:38] Speaker C: Just rooms full of people who want to hear Harry Potter jokes and whatever. [01:18:44] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:18:45] Speaker C: Could have done that. [01:18:46] Speaker A: You could have. Yeah, you still can. [01:18:47] Speaker B: Let's get to work on that. [01:18:48] Speaker C: And as the old thing goes, and then the next thing you know, I wake up in a Red Roof Inn outside Des Moines, Iowa, with a gun between my teeth. [01:18:56] Speaker A: Dubuque. [01:19:00] Speaker B: Yeah, you might. You might. [01:19:01] Speaker C: Well, so, no, I don't. I don't see a niche. [01:19:05] Speaker D: You could have been. [01:19:06] Speaker B: And that also was one of the things I thought about, like, maybe Yakov was the first real identity comic, you know, because at this point, like, gay and lesbian comedians hadn't come out yet. [01:19:17] Speaker A: Right. [01:19:18] Speaker B: Really, being from another country was really the only kind of. [01:19:22] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:19:22] Speaker B: Different identity you could have. [01:19:24] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:19:26] Speaker B: Right. [01:19:26] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:19:28] Speaker B: Well, he's a trailblazer. So. Four out of five. Three out of five. Two out of five. Not bad. A lot better than Gallagher got. [01:19:36] Speaker A: Yeah. Yes. [01:19:37] Speaker B: Well, tee it up there, Mark. What are we going to be looking at next week? Isn't that special? [01:19:42] Speaker D: Yeah. Yeah. [01:19:43] Speaker B: I don't like this. I don't like the sound of this. [01:19:46] Speaker C: We're going to Bonnie Scotchland. [01:19:50] Speaker D: Say what? [01:19:50] Speaker C: For our next special. [01:19:52] Speaker B: What's Bonnie Scotchland? [01:19:53] Speaker C: It's what you Americans call the land of the Scots. Scotland. And we're going for your favorite. Always a favorite. We're going for a female comedian. So you'll be happy with that? Sure. [01:20:07] Speaker B: I like female. [01:20:07] Speaker C: Fern Brady. [01:20:09] Speaker B: No idea. [01:20:10] Speaker C: Power and chaos. [01:20:12] Speaker B: Fern Brady. Fern F E, R N. Yep. [01:20:16] Speaker C: Brady. Power and chaos. [01:20:18] Speaker B: Is she known anywhere in the States? [01:20:19] Speaker C: Nope. 800 pound gorilla on YouTube. [01:20:26] Speaker A: I look forward to asking you via text who that is. [01:20:28] Speaker B: Yes. A week from now for no reason here. [01:20:30] Speaker C: I'll tell you again on Monday morning. [01:20:33] Speaker B: Fern Brady. Never see, I. I don't think we can get that. This obscure though. Right. Like, or, you know, you're just pulling, you know, open micrs from overseas because they were on YouTube. [01:20:46] Speaker C: She's on 800 pound gorilla, which is a very respected American lady. [01:20:50] Speaker B: Dennis Miller's production company. [01:20:52] Speaker C: No. [01:20:54] Speaker B: All right. [01:20:54] Speaker C: It was. It was the one Eddie Peppertone was on when we watched him. [01:20:58] Speaker B: Yeah. That's not. Come on. That's. Bottom shelf. That's Barton's. That's Bukov. [01:21:05] Speaker A: Hey, there you go. Let's call back. [01:21:07] Speaker B: Yeah, thanks. All right, Takashi, give it a good one. Like last week. No, you missed it, man. [01:21:13] Speaker C: You hold. It's because you're holding it, you're preventing. [01:21:16] Speaker A: I don't want the mic to fall off. [01:21:17] Speaker C: You've got to find that sweet spot. [01:21:19] Speaker B: Oh, that was nice. [01:21:20] Speaker C: Yeah, that was basic.
