Episode Transcript
[00:00:08] Speaker A: Speaking of Scottish, Sheila Easton. I didn't know that she was Scottish.
[00:00:15] Speaker B: I thought we covered that, didn't we? That she was very much Scottish. Well, I want to being facetious.
[00:00:21] Speaker C: You've kind of brought. You've brought matters to a head by mentioning Sheena Easton. So I'm just going straight to the. To the gift giving. You don't mind.
So I think.
I don't know. I always get confused. Which episodes are we meant to pretend we didn't record?
[00:00:39] Speaker A: All of them.
[00:00:40] Speaker C: All right, so are we. Bill, can we openly admit we recorded the last episode?
[00:00:46] Speaker A: I don't think so. Not legally. I got to call the lawyer.
[00:00:48] Speaker C: All right, well, at this nominal episode that we may or may not have recorded, we'll let the lawyers fight.
[00:00:55] Speaker B: That comes out today.
[00:00:57] Speaker C: I don't know. I can't say. But I will say this, that your obsession with Sheena Easton was very much to the front of that episode. Your. Your physical lost, your.
Your admiration was there. And what did I find at the Thrift the Flea, Sheena Eastern cassette.
A private heaven, which I think is an illusion to, you know.
[00:01:24] Speaker B: To what friends?
[00:01:26] Speaker C: To her genitalia. Oh, for you at least, because you are obsessed with the woman. I did get the cassette. It has.
[00:01:34] Speaker B: Give me, give me, give me, let me get my hand.
[00:01:35] Speaker C: It has strut on it.
[00:01:37] Speaker B: Strut?
Is that one for big heads?
[00:01:40] Speaker C: Strut, come crossing out and pulling.
[00:01:44] Speaker A: That's a good song.
[00:01:45] Speaker C: Yeah.
You're the one who's obsessed with her and you don't know about strut.
[00:01:50] Speaker B: Stop saying that. Cuz my wife listens and think off air. I talk about her or something. And I don't. I don't. I'm not. I like for your Eyes Only is a song, but I don't find her attractive.
[00:02:00] Speaker A: Yeah, you haven't mentioned her in like 48 hours.
[00:02:02] Speaker B: I would say I can't read any of it, but.
[00:02:04] Speaker A: What's with the sunglasses?
[00:02:07] Speaker B: Well, I'm wearing sunglasses. I. I'm not high. No, no, I don't. I'm not. I don't take any of that. Yeah, I'm. I. I'm honestly just. I'm exhausted and I don't want you to see how exhausted I am.
I've been sleeping all day.
[00:02:21] Speaker A: Really?
[00:02:22] Speaker B: Well, I've been sleeping for the better part of three hours before this.
[00:02:26] Speaker A: So when did you get back?
[00:02:27] Speaker B: Last night.
Later.
But you know what? It has.
Doesn't have that much to do with Vegas. I've been tired. I've been a tired guy for about a month.
And I'VE not recovered. I've not gotten the rest that I need. And I just keep going and going.
Maybe you people are like that too. Going, going.
[00:02:47] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:02:47] Speaker B: And you need a rest. You know, I've gotten one.
[00:02:50] Speaker A: I was thinking that on the bike right here, I was like, man, like, how am I gonna do this? Hum. How am I gonna keep pedaling? You know, how am I gonna put one foot in front of the other?
Two months.
[00:03:01] Speaker B: Serious or you being. Are you mocking me?
[00:03:03] Speaker A: I'm being serious.
[00:03:04] Speaker B: You're tired as well.
[00:03:05] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, always tired. But that's summertime.
[00:03:07] Speaker C: You know how many hours you clock in a week?
[00:03:10] Speaker B: On what?
[00:03:12] Speaker C: Sleep, Work.
[00:03:13] Speaker B: Oh, I don't know. It's my sleep, I think, more than anything. I've been getting up at 5 or 4. 45.
[00:03:21] Speaker C: That's a proud boast of yours.
[00:03:23] Speaker B: It was a proud boast. And I want to keep doing it, but I think it's knackering me.
[00:03:29] Speaker A: That's too early. Like a pig's tail is too early.
[00:03:31] Speaker B: Yeah, it might be. I'm trying to get into those Mark Wahlberg habits.
He's up at 4. Yeah, he's working out. That's what I'm doing. I gotta get up before I meditate and then I work out.
[00:03:44] Speaker A: But then you're tired all day.
[00:03:45] Speaker B: Then I'm exhausted.
[00:03:46] Speaker C: Yeah, then you only put what you put in 20 hours of actual work, right?
[00:03:50] Speaker B: What are you talking about, work? Why you keep asking me about work?
How much I work?
[00:03:54] Speaker A: Life's not all work. How do you like that meat pie?
[00:03:56] Speaker C: It's good.
[00:03:57] Speaker A: Pretty good, huh? It's like the best Hot Pocket you ever had.
[00:04:01] Speaker B: It is great.
[00:04:02] Speaker A: How was that spinach pie?
[00:04:03] Speaker B: So good I inhaled it.
[00:04:04] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:04:06] Speaker B: And I'm trying to not eat as much carb like you. You've inspired me. I'm trying to, you know, fix my diet up and I'd carb up and sugar up and not eat chalky like that.
[00:04:17] Speaker C: Well, anyway, let's stop tap dancing around it.
You went to Vegas? Yeah. First question for the. For the. For the prosecution, did you go with Chicago's own Chili Palmer? Mark Vanner? Yes or no?
[00:04:34] Speaker B: Was I there?
[00:04:35] Speaker C: Simple yes or no, Was I there with Mark? No.
Simple yes or no.
[00:04:39] Speaker B: What is the question? Was I there with him?
[00:04:41] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:04:42] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:04:43] Speaker C: Okay, so we know that you hit. You hit the Champagne Room. Minimum.
Minimum once.
[00:04:51] Speaker B: What's the Champagne Room?
[00:04:54] Speaker A: It's a place that there's classically no sex according to Chris Rock.
[00:04:57] Speaker C: Yeah.
You know the Chris Rock song, no Sex in the Champagne Room.
[00:05:03] Speaker B: No, I didn't do any of that. I didn't do any of that. I was. I was really quite well behaved. Other than keeping odd hours, I was. Yeah.
[00:05:11] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:05:12] Speaker B: But I was there with him. I was there with some other legends of Chicago comedy. You want me to list them?
[00:05:16] Speaker C: Yeah. G. So a gaggle of mate in midlife crisis went to Vegas and sat around discussing their favorite box during the day.
[00:05:28] Speaker B: No, we discussed our favorite fantasy football.
[00:05:30] Speaker A: Doesn't really sound like a crisis to me.
[00:05:32] Speaker B: Yeah.
Discuss fantasy football pretty much the whole time.
Of course, I was with legend Ken Bernard.
Legend.
And from the TV show Community, Brady Novak.
From Rick and Morty, Eric Acosta.
From Late Night with Conan o'. Brien, Nick Vadarat.
From Blurred's CJ Sullivan.
From.
From Ed to Bevik's Brian McGann.
[00:06:11] Speaker C: How did McGannon get a pass out?
[00:06:12] Speaker B: He goes every year. Know who didn't come, though?
[00:06:15] Speaker C: Cole.
[00:06:16] Speaker B: Cole didn't come. He's in Hawaii. And Mike Olson at the last second called in with COVID That was co again.
[00:06:26] Speaker C: Anyway, what are you from?
[00:06:29] Speaker B: Huh?
[00:06:30] Speaker C: Bill o'. Donnell.
[00:06:31] Speaker B: From me. Yeah, I know. I guess.
[00:06:35] Speaker A: Isn't that special? Podcast.
What's the name of this?
[00:06:43] Speaker B: From the Red Line.
[00:06:45] Speaker C: I thought it was called. You think that's funny?
[00:06:47] Speaker A: No.
[00:06:47] Speaker B: You think this is special?
Yeah, from the show. Isn't that special?
[00:06:53] Speaker C: You're not gonna say J.
From the Just for Laughs festival. Fresh mugs.
[00:06:58] Speaker B: Yeah. From the.
From just for laughs 2000.
[00:07:03] Speaker A: Bill O'.
[00:07:04] Speaker B: Donnell.
Anyway, I'm exhausted, so I'm wearing. I'm wearing the glasses. That's what you do when you're exhausted. You hide yourself. Put on a hat.
[00:07:12] Speaker A: Yeah, I just put. I put clear eyes in. That's what I. That's my trick. Yeah.
[00:07:17] Speaker B: What is that gonna do for me?
[00:07:18] Speaker A: It just clears my eyes up.
[00:07:20] Speaker B: It's not my eyes bags under my eyes.
[00:07:22] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:07:24] Speaker C: Anyway, dish the tea, girlfriend. Yeah.
As we say.
[00:07:27] Speaker B: What happened? I got second pick in the fantasy draft.
I won big. Gambling.
[00:07:34] Speaker A: Did he do the draft already or was it.
[00:07:36] Speaker B: The draft was Saturday night till about 2, 3 in the morning.
[00:07:39] Speaker A: Who was your first pick?
[00:07:40] Speaker B: Bijan Robinson with the second overall pick of the draft.
[00:07:43] Speaker A: Who got Josh Allen.
[00:07:47] Speaker B: Cole. Sean Cole.
[00:07:48] Speaker A: He's going to win.
[00:07:49] Speaker B: Yeah, he got Josh Allen. And Crow also canceled at the last second claiming to be sick and did not make it.
[00:07:57] Speaker C: He. So I'm guessing CRO just googled is Vegas still cheap? And found the answer is very much no.
[00:08:05] Speaker B: No, it's not cheap.
[00:08:06] Speaker A: Do they still get to participate in the draft? Then if they don't arrive.
[00:08:09] Speaker B: Yeah. They just have to do it remotely.
It's a no brainer T. I can't. There's no. No crazy stories, Chili Palmer or anything like that running around the casino. CJ Sullivan is quite the celebrity out there, though.
[00:08:24] Speaker A: Oh, really?
[00:08:25] Speaker B: His.
So Circa Casino is the big sports betting casino. And CJ is something of a celebrity there. He has a gambling show, a gambling podcast show. And while we were hanging out in the casino, he was on the Jumbotron on his show and. Yeah. You know, making the rounds like, you know, like a local celebrity.
[00:08:46] Speaker A: Yeah. Good for him.
[00:08:47] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, it's good for him.
[00:08:50] Speaker C: Did you sat there?
[00:08:51] Speaker B: Well, Mark Vano just sat and talked with us. Yeah.
[00:08:54] Speaker A: Did you say you won big gambling?
[00:08:56] Speaker B: I did.
[00:08:56] Speaker A: What did you play? What's your game? When you gamble, what do you do?
[00:09:00] Speaker B: I sports bet.
[00:09:01] Speaker A: Oh, that's it?
[00:09:02] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:09:03] Speaker A: Just sports bet.
[00:09:03] Speaker B: I made one wager.
[00:09:05] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:09:05] Speaker B: A $20 wager.
[00:09:07] Speaker A: On what?
[00:09:08] Speaker B: On the New England Patriots to beat the Philadelphia Eagles in a pre.
[00:09:12] Speaker A: In a preseason game.
[00:09:13] Speaker B: Yep. And I got all the guys to get on board with this bet. I said the Patriots are gonna absolutely win this game. Been reading about practice all week and
[00:09:20] Speaker A: kind of a rematch.
Super Bowl?
[00:09:22] Speaker B: Yeah, kind of like a Super bowl rematch.
[00:09:24] Speaker A: Were they playing their starters?
[00:09:26] Speaker B: I don't think so. No, not really.
[00:09:28] Speaker A: So there's no Drake May. Is that still the quarterback?
[00:09:30] Speaker B: Yeah, he didn't.
[00:09:31] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:09:31] Speaker B: None of them play. And in the last second, touchdown. The Patriots came in and won $19.
I have the ticket right here. I couldn't make my way back to the casino, though, so I'm going to mail in this.
[00:09:44] Speaker A: You know, I used to work at Blue Line Lounge and Grill down the street. Oh, yeah, every Sunday. And there was a. There was a guy that worked at the Southern that was bar down the street from Blue Line. He would come in every Sunday to watch the Patriots games. He's a huge Patriots fan.
[00:09:59] Speaker B: And Blue Line used to show all the games.
[00:10:01] Speaker A: Yeah, we'd have the game on and so he knew I was a big Bills fan. So. Especially when he came in, this is when the Bills were terrible and the Patriots were just running the table against everybody.
So he would come in and we'd both watch the Bills lose in the last second together. You know, every single time they'd have the lead the whole game and they'd kick that field goal at the end and the Patriots would win. And so one of the. He was always very good about it, though. He was a sportsman, like, kind of guy.
No, he never did. You know, he never crossed that line, which I appreciated about him until one time where he did, he said, hey, listen, I've got plenty of cash in my pocket to pay my tab before I leave right now. After the bills just embarrass themselves once more, he said, but I'd rather use this instead. And he plinked down this Patriots credit card, right? I said, oh, my God, this is the first time he's crossed. Like, he never done this before. So I walked around the corner to the cash register and I went to swipe the card. I looked at the back and he hadn't signed it. So I took a Sharpie and I wrote go bills in the signature area.
Went back, thank you very much. Handed him his check. About a week later, I got a text from him.
[00:11:00] Speaker B: He said, finally, you son of a.
That's nice. That's well done.
I thought that was going to be. The card was going to be declined. Did you something. It was going to be a fake card or something.
Yeah. So I don't. They don't. Don't try to pump me for information. Don't try to say I did things in Vegas that I didn't do. Because, you know, my wife listens to this. You already started with the Sheena Easton bullshit and. And trying to get me in trouble. That's some bullshit.
[00:11:25] Speaker A: I feel like people always say things like, oh, you went to Vegas. That meant you must have, like, had, like, some crazy sexy time. Out of all the times I've gone to Las Vegas, not once did anybody ever.
That was, I don't know, one person that's ever done that.
[00:11:39] Speaker B: Yeah, you.
[00:11:41] Speaker A: You go and you do other things. There's shows to see. There's.
[00:11:43] Speaker B: There's shows.
[00:11:45] Speaker A: Take, like, winning money in old Vegas, bringing it back to the strip that you're staying on and then losing all the money. You know, just being a mule that brings money from one part of town to the other.
[00:11:53] Speaker B: What are you saying, that it's easier to win money in old Vegas? Cause we stayed in old Vegas.
[00:11:56] Speaker A: Well, yeah, I feel like that's what. I would always go to old Vegas and then.
[00:12:00] Speaker B: You mean downtown Vegas?
[00:12:01] Speaker A: No, like. Like, you stay on the Strip, right? I don't. That's. That's where we would stay when I would go with friends all the time. Every year we did this for one. Who cares? But you stay on the Strip and then you go to old Vegas where everything's like a dollar, you know, where
[00:12:15] Speaker B: the hell is that? I never found that really?
[00:12:18] Speaker A: Oh, my God.
[00:12:18] Speaker C: Next. It's covered now it's covered.
[00:12:20] Speaker A: Yeah, they've got the. Yeah, there's a. Like a covered strip.
[00:12:23] Speaker B: That's what we say.
[00:12:24] Speaker A: And you can do you tie yourself up to like a zip. Yeah, yeah. That's where. Right. So anyways, it's not cheap. You go there. It used to be. And you could also like, you could just like open container, walk around. So we would just go there. Cause it was much less expensive. And somebody taught me how to play craps. So one of the trips, I kept winning a bunch of money playing craps in old Vegas. Going back to the hotel, I'd have like 3, $400 in my pocket I didn't have when I left. And you know, one more game at the hotel and I'd lose it all, every single time. So I was just a storage unit for money to take from. I was Amazon packaging money from old Vegas to New Vegas.
[00:13:02] Speaker B: I see what you're saying.
[00:13:03] Speaker C: I used to go around all the thrift stores.
[00:13:05] Speaker B: There are thrift stores? Where are they?
[00:13:08] Speaker C: Kind of buried in the back.
[00:13:09] Speaker A: An old, old Vegas.
[00:13:10] Speaker C: And there's some desk. Obviously, you know, people go to Vegas and they lose their ass and all. But thrift stores were always a bit disappointing there. I always thought they were going to
[00:13:20] Speaker B: be, yeah, get some good stuff in there.
[00:13:22] Speaker A: But now who brings stuff with them on vacation that they can really sell at a thrift store?
[00:13:25] Speaker C: No, there's. There's a hole town of Vegas now.
[00:13:29] Speaker B: People actually live there, you know? Yeah, they do live.
[00:13:31] Speaker A: I don't believe it.
[00:13:32] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:13:32] Speaker C: Yeah, it's massive. And then I used to go to the record stores, obviously, a lot of go karting.
[00:13:41] Speaker B: I would have liked to have done something like that.
[00:13:43] Speaker C: Yeah, there's a couple of massive indoor tracks.
[00:13:45] Speaker A: You know, there's. There's a place right outside of downtown Las Vegas that you can, for a fee, you can drive around construction vehicles.
[00:13:52] Speaker B: Really?
[00:13:52] Speaker A: Yeah. Like the. Like you drive a bulldozer. Yeah. And they've got a whole bunch of stuff that you can smash. Yeah.
[00:13:57] Speaker B: That's fun, right? Yeah.
Hey, speaking of the thrift store, you know, you get your. I got your text over the weekend while I was there saying, hey, I'm going to the fleet. You went. You knew I was in Vegas. And that's the only reason why you invited me to the Flea. No, I forgot you went to the Flea, obviously.
[00:14:13] Speaker C: I forgot to give Christian his present. So.
[00:14:15] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:14:16] Speaker B: You get so excited about Sheena Easton.
[00:14:17] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:14:18] Speaker B: Now I know you spot on it.
[00:14:20] Speaker C: I think I know you've always wanted a Sheen or Easton album, so that was a slam dunk.
And there's something Christian has always wanted, and that's his own can of three in one oil.
[00:14:29] Speaker A: Oh, my God. You got to be joking me. I really do want this.
[00:14:31] Speaker B: What's that?
Well, it's three in one.
[00:14:34] Speaker C: It's. It's kind of.
There's a whole thing going on. Right. People think WD40 is oil.
For all the listeners out there, Osaka, wherever you may be, WD40 stands for water dispersant.
[00:14:52] Speaker B: It's a water dispersant.
[00:14:53] Speaker C: Right.
Three in one oil is what you want.
[00:14:58] Speaker B: That's actual oil.
[00:14:59] Speaker C: You put it on your bike chain. You can do hinges with it.
[00:15:03] Speaker A: Let me ask you this. Did you get this because you saw me on the cameras putting this on my bike chain last week?
The can that's downstairs?
[00:15:10] Speaker C: No, I got it from one of this. Oh, I didn't know you had.
[00:15:14] Speaker A: Yeah, I had.
[00:15:16] Speaker C: See, I put on, like, an. I put motorcycle chain oil on my bike last week.
Big mistake. Because it's like glue, because it has to stay on a chain that's moving 100 miles an hour.
[00:15:28] Speaker A: Right.
[00:15:29] Speaker C: It.
[00:15:30] Speaker B: It's very congeal easily.
[00:15:31] Speaker C: Yeah. Very, very sticky. And then I got it on the goddamn rim of the thing, and now it's just squealing all the time.
[00:15:39] Speaker B: Oh, my God.
[00:15:40] Speaker C: I was just too lazy to get here and get the three in one.
[00:15:43] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:15:43] Speaker B: So it's actually done the reverse. It slowed down your chain?
[00:15:46] Speaker C: No, it just keeps. Every time I break, it's because this fucking oil keeps getting on to the.
[00:15:52] Speaker A: Yeah. Done that to my electric bike numerous times.
[00:15:55] Speaker B: Well, Christian gave us some very nice gifts. This is really awesome. The food and you've given gifts, and I feel forced to now bring a gift every week. And I'm really struggling because I think it was your.
[00:16:08] Speaker A: It was your idea.
One time you said, we're doing this every week.
[00:16:12] Speaker B: Right. It's. It feels forced. But I did get a gift for you guys.
[00:16:16] Speaker C: You better have if you're in Vegas.
[00:16:18] Speaker B: I didn't get anything from Vegas, nor did I bring my family anything back. What would I brought back from Vegas?
[00:16:24] Speaker C: The world's largest gift shop? Is it Tropicana and the Strip.
[00:16:30] Speaker B: The Tropicana is gone. Now it's gonna be the Oakland A's baseball stadium.
[00:16:35] Speaker C: No, not Tropicana. What was the old. The Sahara.
[00:16:38] Speaker B: Sahara is the world's greatest gift shop.
[00:16:40] Speaker C: The world's biggest gift.
[00:16:42] Speaker B: I wasn't near any of that. I was at the other side. I was an old Vegas.
[00:16:45] Speaker C: You were fucking everywhere, by the sounds of it. Well, that is closer to Vegas, because that stratosphere is about the last.
[00:16:52] Speaker B: The Strat.
[00:16:53] Speaker C: Strat is the middle tourist sort of thing. Before you get it into old.
[00:16:58] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. No. Well, I didn't get anything from Vegas. Nothing.
[00:17:02] Speaker C: God damn it.
[00:17:03] Speaker B: But I did get you what appears to be 20 to 30 floppy disks.
[00:17:10] Speaker C: You know what's funny is I look new.
[00:17:12] Speaker B: Haven't been.
[00:17:13] Speaker C: I looked at the packet of a hundred of these that I already have in a drawer and went, I am never gonna use those.
Literally did that yesterday.
[00:17:23] Speaker B: What can we do with those?
[00:17:24] Speaker C: Fuck off. You can't find anything with a burner anymore?
[00:17:27] Speaker B: No.
[00:17:28] Speaker C: No.
[00:17:28] Speaker B: You don't have an old computer that can burn shit?
[00:17:30] Speaker C: No.
[00:17:32] Speaker B: No, nothing.
[00:17:33] Speaker C: They don't put burners on computers anymore.
[00:17:36] Speaker B: But you must have something old that works.
[00:17:39] Speaker C: No.
[00:17:40] Speaker B: There's nothing you can do with those?
[00:17:41] Speaker C: No.
[00:17:42] Speaker A: Maybe I can use two of them to try to pry the CD that's stuck in my CD player in the car.
[00:17:46] Speaker B: It's still stuck in there. Yeah.
[00:17:48] Speaker A: It's never going, is it the one I gave you? Yeah. ACD or not. Acdc.
[00:17:52] Speaker B: Tommy.
[00:17:53] Speaker A: Ace of Bass.
[00:17:55] Speaker B: Yeah, Those are nice.
[00:17:56] Speaker C: These are CDs, even. Jesus H. You think? I thought they were DVDs.
[00:18:01] Speaker B: No, they're CDs.
They not DVDs.
[00:18:08] Speaker C: Well, you know, you got them now.
[00:18:10] Speaker B: They're yours.
[00:18:10] Speaker C: Yeah, well, I'm just going to give them back to you next week. So you can either take them now or.
[00:18:16] Speaker B: Christian, because you've given me so many condiments and food over the years. I have been holding this for a while and I wasn't sure whether I wanted to part with it, but this is the barbecue sauce that's used on the New England roast beef sandwich.
[00:18:33] Speaker A: All right. I didn't know there was a New England roast beef sandwich.
[00:18:35] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. And I had to have this still sent to me from a friend there, and he was generous to send me a couple extra bottles.
[00:18:43] Speaker A: You're willing to part with it?
[00:18:45] Speaker B: It is James river style barbecue sauce. You will not find this anywhere else. And how I recommend you using it is you make it. Get some nice, high quality boar's head roast beef, okay? Get that shaved.
Then you get a sesame roll, okay.
And you grill the inside of it or griddle the inside of that. Then you put the roast beef, maybe warm it up a little bit at room temperature. And then you pour this over the top of it. Maybe a slice of American cheese.
And Then you've got a New England roast beef sandwich. It's going to blow your. Blow your mind.
[00:19:18] Speaker A: Yeah. All right, well, I'm gonna. Look, don't. Don't toss it because it'll.
[00:19:20] Speaker B: It's heavy. I could break the whole system over there.
[00:19:23] Speaker A: I'll look it up online, how to follow the instructions you just gave.
[00:19:26] Speaker B: I'll come to you in writing.
[00:19:27] Speaker A: Oh, I guess that's gonna write it down.
[00:19:29] Speaker B: Gary doesn't want to let go of that because.
[00:19:32] Speaker C: Because it's bottled in Illinois.
[00:19:34] Speaker B: Yeah, it is.
[00:19:35] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:19:35] Speaker B: Are you shitting?
What?
You can't get it around here.
Bottled in Illinois.
[00:19:44] Speaker C: Who's James river anyway?
[00:19:45] Speaker B: But it says Smithfield, Virginia. This is. Must be the Smithfield Pork Company.
[00:19:52] Speaker C: Who's James River?
[00:19:53] Speaker B: I don't know.
[00:19:54] Speaker A: He's not a famous New Englander.
[00:19:56] Speaker B: Very distinct barbecue sauce. It's like. I can't even explain it.
It's like sweet and tangy and. God, is it good.
[00:20:06] Speaker A: Well, I can't wait to try it. I'm very excited.
Boar's Head.
[00:20:12] Speaker B: Yeah, I would get Boar's Head premium shaved.
[00:20:14] Speaker A: Get the best shaved. Yeah.
[00:20:16] Speaker B: Shaved roast beef.
[00:20:17] Speaker A: When's the last time you had meat?
[00:20:20] Speaker B: All weekend.
[00:20:21] Speaker A: Oh, really? So you've been.
[00:20:22] Speaker B: I mean, I basically eat at every meal now.
[00:20:23] Speaker A: Really? Oh, you're back. Yeah, you're back. You're a carnivore again.
[00:20:27] Speaker B: Falling hard?
[00:20:28] Speaker A: No.
[00:20:28] Speaker B: Wow.
[00:20:28] Speaker A: What's the last. What is. What's your favorite piece of meat? You've had roast beef reintroduction. Yeah, you can't beat roast beef.
[00:20:35] Speaker C: What about if you had a system where you had a cheat month?
[00:20:41] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:20:42] Speaker C: And then. Then you have 11 months of anticipation building up.
[00:20:47] Speaker B: Yes, yes.
[00:20:48] Speaker C: So you kind of. You have a cheap month. You know, you go hog wild, pardon the pun, and then you're back on.
[00:20:56] Speaker B: Back on the wagon.
[00:20:57] Speaker A: There's no discipline. Then you know, you're really cheating yourself for 11 months out of the year.
You have to know how to be able to hold the line.
[00:21:05] Speaker B: Yeah, I held the line for many years. But it reminds me of the film. What you just described reminds me of the film One Night Only starring Monica Barbara, which I saw recently. And the premise of this film is it's in theaters now. They. These new government makes. So unless you're married, you can't have sex or there's no sex. It's like a. More like puritan Christian government, right wing. Except for one night a year, and one night a year they lift the ban and all the people that aren't married go out and they shag like crazy.
[00:21:39] Speaker C: This is just the Purge with shagging.
[00:21:42] Speaker B: Yeah, it's like. It's like shagging instead of murder. You're right. I didn't think about that. Yeah, it's like the Purge. The sexual purge.
[00:21:49] Speaker C: They should do a whole series where each film is like, you can only do this thing once. Yeah. Could be like, play Scrabble and everyone goes scrabble Crazy.
[00:21:59] Speaker B: Be boring. Nobody would want to watch that movie.
[00:22:01] Speaker A: I watched Bruce Almighty the other day for the first time.
[00:22:04] Speaker B: What is that about?
[00:22:05] Speaker A: It's the one where Jim Carrey becomes God. He can type real fast and he hears everybody's prayers and he's dating Jennifer Aniston.
[00:22:11] Speaker B: He hears everybody's prayer.
[00:22:13] Speaker A: They're thinking, yeah, it's driving him nuts. I mean, he's a real. He's real hot shit for a little while there where he can part his bowl of soup with his hands. But, yeah, that movie is stupid. It's so. But it's so weird that.
I remember when it came out, it was. It was a huge hit. You know, everything he touched was a hit. And we all went to the theaters to see it. I remember everybody being like, yeah, right, because everyone believes in God. Right. And it's funny watching it now, 20 years later, where the whole social mindset has changed and thinking like, they made this big budget movie about belief in God where it wouldn't fly.
[00:22:48] Speaker B: Now, very apropos for our comedian today, Taylor.
[00:22:53] Speaker C: Tell me about it.
[00:22:55] Speaker B: Baklava. What is baklava?
[00:22:57] Speaker A: Excellent. It's a pastry. Yeah, yeah.
[00:23:00] Speaker B: So is there cabbage in there or something?
[00:23:02] Speaker A: No. Right. Isn't it? It's sweet, isn't it?
[00:23:04] Speaker B: It's sweet.
[00:23:05] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:23:05] Speaker B: Flaky.
[00:23:06] Speaker A: There's no.
[00:23:06] Speaker B: It's a pastry.
What is in there?
Some kind of meat.
[00:23:11] Speaker A: Oh, there is.
[00:23:12] Speaker B: It's not a meat.
[00:23:13] Speaker A: No, it's not me. It's. It's like. Actually, I have no clue.
[00:23:16] Speaker B: Is it pistachio?
[00:23:18] Speaker A: Yeah, I think it's something like that. It's a nut.
[00:23:22] Speaker B: Good.
[00:23:22] Speaker A: Pretty good, right?
[00:23:24] Speaker C: Very good.
[00:23:26] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:23:27] Speaker B: Now he's.
[00:23:27] Speaker C: He.
[00:23:29] Speaker B: He's bit. What, bearing his teeth over here. Yeah, give me a snarl.
[00:23:34] Speaker C: Look, I think it's got syrup on
[00:23:38] Speaker B: does.
What is the meat?
[00:23:40] Speaker C: I forgot to bring my wig.
[00:23:41] Speaker A: It's not meat. I think you're right. I think it's crushed up pistachios or some other. Some other sort of nut like that. What's a Mediterranean nut?
[00:23:49] Speaker B: Tree nut.
[00:23:50] Speaker A: It's a lob up for pine.
A pine nut.
[00:23:54] Speaker B: Macadamia nut.
[00:23:55] Speaker A: Okay. Maybe it's one of those all crushed
[00:23:57] Speaker B: up like in best in shows, like pine nut, peanut, macadamia nut, cashew nut. I was gonna get names all the nuts. Remember that?
[00:24:09] Speaker A: I was gonna get Jim shoe sandwiches like promised, but I found out that you can't. There's not one. There's not a place to get them in Logan Square. They're more of a south side, west side sort of thing. And it just wasn't on my way here, but I did look it up. All right, what kind of.
[00:24:24] Speaker B: Wait.
[00:24:25] Speaker A: What's in baklava?
[00:24:26] Speaker B: It says on the. It says on the wrapper.
[00:24:28] Speaker A: Okay, great.
[00:24:29] Speaker B: Ghee, which I like.
Ghee is a vegetarian kind of butter,
[00:24:34] Speaker A: pasta ghee, walnut, pistachios or almonds.
[00:24:39] Speaker B: Sugar ghee.
[00:24:40] Speaker A: Yeah, plenty of ghee.
[00:24:42] Speaker C: Ghee is in all Indian dishes. More.
[00:24:44] Speaker B: Contains nuts, flour, butter, ghee.
We can't read the walnut pistachio nut.
[00:24:52] Speaker A: There we go.
[00:24:54] Speaker B: Pine nut, peanut macadamia.
[00:24:58] Speaker A: Are you doing a Forrest Gump?
[00:25:00] Speaker C: No.
[00:25:00] Speaker B: Christopher Guest and best in show.
[00:25:03] Speaker C: Oh, talking of Mediterranean nuts, I started watching Sopranos.
[00:25:08] Speaker B: Oh, you did? You're watching that from the beginning?
[00:25:10] Speaker A: Your first time.
[00:25:11] Speaker B: Oh, that's awesome.
[00:25:12] Speaker A: It's your first time. Oh, my God. You're gonna love it. Where are you?
[00:25:15] Speaker B: How many have you seen?
3.
[00:25:18] Speaker A: 3 episodes or 3 seasons?
[00:25:21] Speaker C: EPS.
[00:25:21] Speaker A: 3 episodes.
[00:25:22] Speaker B: And what do you think so far?
[00:25:25] Speaker C: Good. I didn't think we would last because my missus does not like anything gritty.
And I was like. She. She was. She was like, yeah, should we start it? And I was like, I don't think you're gonna like it. It's probably gonna be gritty.
[00:25:38] Speaker B: Didn't you like Fargo? She get all upset at Fargo. Didn't you?
[00:25:42] Speaker C: No, she. Yeah, she used to, like, flick the V's at people on the screen and stuff.
John Hammond, the last one.
[00:25:48] Speaker B: That's gritty, isn't it? Fargo.
So she. She can tolerate gritty?
[00:25:52] Speaker C: No, she gave up on Fargo. She says too much.
[00:25:57] Speaker B: Well, this is exciting for me watching Surprise, because I've only had, like, three episodes left of the final season.
[00:26:03] Speaker A: Is it your first time, too?
[00:26:04] Speaker B: No, I've seen it before, but my kid and I were watching it together. Little bond.
[00:26:08] Speaker A: Yeah. And that's the thing. It is. It is gritty at points, but it's also one of the funniest shows I've ever seen.
[00:26:13] Speaker B: It's hilarious. Are you getting the jokes? The American humor? Yeah, because it can go over your head.
[00:26:18] Speaker C: I like the pace of it. It doesn't hang around.
[00:26:20] Speaker A: It's it's so well written. There's more to it than just the grip.
[00:26:23] Speaker C: So much bullshit hangs around now. Oh, let's spin it out for 10 hours. No, let's just get to.
[00:26:29] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[00:26:31] Speaker C: Swiftly Tarantino esque. Immediacy.
[00:26:35] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. It's ultimately a show about relationships more than.
[00:26:39] Speaker A: Yeah, it is.
[00:26:41] Speaker B: Well, that's exciting to hear.
[00:26:43] Speaker C: I always thought it'd be cool if you could probably do this because you've got the youth in the house.
Wouldn't it be amazing if you'd never seen a Tarantino movie before and you had the whole of them ahead of you? I sort of feel like we have that with Sopranos because the entire West. Rest of the world watched it.
[00:27:03] Speaker B: It's kind of nice, Right?
[00:27:04] Speaker A: Let me ask you this. Do you know how it ended already?
[00:27:06] Speaker B: Sopranos.
[00:27:07] Speaker C: I know everyone dies or some, but. Yeah.
[00:27:10] Speaker A: So you don't.
Okay, good. Keep it that way. Let it be a surprise.
[00:27:14] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:27:14] Speaker B: That was a somewhat controversial ending.
[00:27:17] Speaker A: I liked it. I did, too.
[00:27:18] Speaker B: Yeah, I do, too.
[00:27:19] Speaker C: It's one of them ones. I think I paid attention to what people were saying, but because I wasn't vested in it. Washed over.
[00:27:25] Speaker A: Same. I lived in a house back then on Minnesota Boulevard in buffalo with like 12 other guys. It was a college house in a really bad neighborhood.
[00:27:34] Speaker B: And when it came out.
[00:27:35] Speaker A: Yeah. And. Well, when it ended and they. They were all obsessed with it. So I saw the ending, but I didn't really care because I had no investment in the characters. You know, it wasn't until years later I started watching. I think I started in, like, season three and then was quickly invested. Like, this is the. I've never seen anything like this. This is great. No wonder everybody was talking about it. You know what I mean? That sort of thing. Watched it all the way to the end, then rewatched the entire thing again.
Then got my sister into it and she watched the whole thing.
[00:28:01] Speaker B: Well, when this came out for Aguirre, he was. It was. You were too busy running the nascent Lincoln Lodge. You weren't. Had no time for.
[00:28:11] Speaker C: I think I was running the Red lion because I remember we did a Chicago comedy festival and there was some parody called the Baritones.
[00:28:22] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, I remember that. That was in the. It was in one of the festivals.
[00:28:25] Speaker C: Yeah.
I remember thinking, what, Jeff is this about? It must have been pretty early on.
[00:28:31] Speaker B: Okay. When it started.
[00:28:32] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:28:34] Speaker B: Kind of like Tony Tita's Wedding. Remember that? That was big.
[00:28:38] Speaker C: I used to. When I. When I would do a show at the Donny Skybox, I Would hang out outside there, trying to gather my thoughts. And you would see that because Tony and Tina is often spilled into the thing.
[00:28:53] Speaker B: Yep, yep. See him in the bathroom and stuff.
[00:28:55] Speaker A: Who is the character? The guy with the teeth, you know, kind of fast talking in the Sopranos. Yeah, with the teeth. With red hair.
[00:29:03] Speaker B: With the red.
[00:29:03] Speaker A: Like kind of reddish, you know. Hey. Oh, Ralph Cifaretta.
[00:29:09] Speaker B: Joe Pantoliano, the actor?
[00:29:11] Speaker A: Yeah, he was that guy. That guy's great.
[00:29:14] Speaker B: He's not even introduced yet to Gary.
[00:29:16] Speaker A: No, no, no. That's not till it's like season three or four.
[00:29:19] Speaker B: Hey, listen, before you came in when you were late, like 15 minutes late, we were sitting in here and I was talking to my wife and she's got this friend, right, who's a. Who sold out this weekend. Past weekend. The. The Lincoln launch. I don't know. Her name's Andrea. Andrea whatever. Kinnear. Is that? Right?
She's in. She's in some big show here and she sold out. She's been calling the Lincoln Lodge, calling your number, wanting to book a show, wanting to book her own show. Can't get any response.
[00:29:51] Speaker A: She played here last weekend.
[00:29:52] Speaker B: This past week.
[00:29:53] Speaker A: This past weekend, like the last.
[00:29:54] Speaker B: Sold out.
She's got many Instagramers. She does like mom comedy of some kind.
I'm not vouching for my. She's a friend of my wife. She's trying to get ahold of somebody over here because of, you know, my.
My ends over here. She thinks maybe I can get someone to help call her back.
[00:30:14] Speaker C: Well, I've not. I answered the phone and I have not taken a phone call from this woman. If she's emailing or going through the website, then it's going to the venue manager, which isn't me.
[00:30:24] Speaker B: Is that Christian Bork?
[00:30:26] Speaker C: Yeah, it's the B.
[00:30:32] Speaker A: You're looking for a sound effect or something?
[00:30:34] Speaker B: Something, yeah.
[00:30:34] Speaker A: Okay, great.
[00:30:35] Speaker C: No, she says for anything to get this episode, she says, off its ass and moving.
[00:30:41] Speaker A: Yeah, maybe.
[00:30:42] Speaker B: She says she leaves a message.
[00:30:44] Speaker C: Is this the strut?
No, strut down. Put it out. Put it up into it. I like that.
[00:30:51] Speaker A: On.
[00:30:51] Speaker B: That's Sheena Eason.
[00:30:52] Speaker C: Yeah. No, Sheila Easton.
[00:30:54] Speaker B: Sheila E.
No, she says she's been leaving a message on an Englishman's machine.
[00:31:03] Speaker C: I'm gonna have to gain. Say that and say no gainsay.
[00:31:07] Speaker B: I've called that.
That number many times and left messages with no response either.
[00:31:12] Speaker A: So I text that number, get no response.
[00:31:15] Speaker B: Yeah. So I don't know.
[00:31:17] Speaker A: I text my deepest thoughts, my ideas, my visions, and no don't call on
[00:31:22] Speaker C: a Tuesday and Wednesday. That's open mic night. And I never answer the phone.
[00:31:25] Speaker B: Ah, there it is.
But would you check the messages? Yeah, you do. Could be some big name. Could be Ari Shafir or Aziz Ansari wanting to book a show.
[00:31:37] Speaker C: I'd hate to miss out on Steph
[00:31:39] Speaker A: Tolev or Taylor Tomlinson.
[00:31:41] Speaker B: You wouldn't want Sep Tolev here. Or Taylor.
[00:31:43] Speaker A: She's the filth queen.
[00:31:45] Speaker B: You take that show.
All right. I also have something very, very exciting news that I brought this in. Just came. I've been waiting.
[00:31:53] Speaker A: Yeah. What's in the folder there?
[00:31:56] Speaker B: Weeks?
No, it's to be expedited. It did not get expedited. But the next time you see me driving my 1990 Volvo, you'll see these plates go by Tom Kite.
These are going on the car today.
[00:32:17] Speaker A: I don't get it.
[00:32:18] Speaker B: Tom Kite.
[00:32:19] Speaker A: What does that mean?
[00:32:20] Speaker B: The golfer, Tom Kite.
[00:32:22] Speaker C: What?
[00:32:23] Speaker B: Leading money winner on the PGA Tour, Tom Kite in the 80s. You remember the golfer Tom Kite?
[00:32:28] Speaker C: No, don't.
[00:32:30] Speaker B: Why did you get those? I don't know.
[00:32:33] Speaker A: Are you hoping that everybody thinks you're Tom Kite?
[00:32:37] Speaker B: So people, when they. When I go by, they go, fucking Tom Kite just went by on the
[00:32:41] Speaker A: off chance that somebody knows who that is. Holy fucking shit.
There's Tom Kite over there.
[00:32:47] Speaker C: Do you think. You know, they won't give out swearing number plates.
[00:32:50] Speaker B: They won't.
[00:32:51] Speaker C: What if I did? Shite. Shite would an American.
[00:32:55] Speaker B: They'd know that.
[00:32:56] Speaker C: Would American go, no, I can't do that. Because someone. People sent pictures into Viz where they lived in America, and they got Wanker.
And they slip that one by.
[00:33:06] Speaker B: They got Wanker.
[00:33:07] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:33:09] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:33:10] Speaker C: So, like, a whole slew of them were like, yeah, I've got the one for California. I've got the one for New York. Like a whole bunch of Viz readers. Like, yeah, I slipped it by Wanker. But I was like, can you slip shite by, man? I guess shit's in there in it. So they're gonna be.
[00:33:24] Speaker A: I think it's two. Yeah, it's a red flag. It'd be flagged down like bollocks.
[00:33:28] Speaker C: What if I did five hit E?
[00:33:32] Speaker B: Five hit E. Yeah. Maybe it's worth a try.
[00:33:36] Speaker A: What about five hit three?
[00:33:37] Speaker C: Because I was thinking I could get Tom Shyt.
[00:33:40] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:33:40] Speaker C: We could drive around in a little convoy.
[00:33:42] Speaker B: Well, the process is like a website, right? Like, seeing if a website is available. And so you put it in and they say it's available, and they say it's okay. But then I Think Tom Kite took a long time to go through the review board. Right. Because it didn't come when it was supposed to come way later.
[00:33:56] Speaker A: How's your website doing?
[00:33:57] Speaker B: A full life.
[00:33:58] Speaker A: Yeah. Do you have anything up yet?
No, I'm still under. Neither do I. And now I. I forgot about it. And then PayPal Auto charged me for another month and I was like, how this bit's going on too long now. It's costing me money.
[00:34:09] Speaker B: What's yours called?
[00:34:10] Speaker A: I have a Fun Life.
[00:34:11] Speaker B: Fun life.
[00:34:12] Speaker A: Yeah. But I gotta wait that 60 days so I can transfer it to Wix and then I can put some photos of me having a fun life up there, which I have plenty of.
[00:34:19] Speaker C: I was gonna get a life of disappointment one night.
[00:34:22] Speaker B: Something like that. A sad life. I have a sad life.
[00:34:25] Speaker C: Yeah. Shite life.
[00:34:26] Speaker B: I have a shite life. Yeah, you should. We'll see who gets more hits. Full life, fun life or shite life.
All right.
Your agenda. Did you get to. Do we get to your agenda?
[00:34:41] Speaker C: A lot of notes over there talked about Sheena Easton. Did I mention Sheena Easton?
[00:34:45] Speaker B: You did. You did.
[00:34:47] Speaker A: Yeah.
Well, you gave him the tape. I don't know if you had something else to say. You did send that video earlier that. I started watching it about four minutes in. I started thinking, how long is this?
[00:34:55] Speaker B: And Sheena Eason.
[00:34:56] Speaker A: It was like. It was an hour long. I couldn't watch it on my phone.
[00:34:58] Speaker C: Sheena Easton's currently in residence. Guess where?
[00:35:01] Speaker B: Vegas.
[00:35:02] Speaker C: Vegas.
[00:35:03] Speaker B: She was there when I was there.
[00:35:04] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:35:05] Speaker B: Was she?
[00:35:05] Speaker C: Yeah. The.
The pieces begin to fall into place.
[00:35:10] Speaker A: Man, you could have seen her.
[00:35:11] Speaker C: And then she's at Three Oaks, Michigan.
[00:35:14] Speaker B: That's not far.
[00:35:15] Speaker C: October 1st.
[00:35:18] Speaker A: Oh, when is the. That puppet.
[00:35:22] Speaker B: Oh, Randy. Yeah, Randy Felt Face. Yeah, it's at the vic.
[00:35:27] Speaker A: Right.
[00:35:27] Speaker B: I sent it. I don't remember what the date. October, maybe.
[00:35:30] Speaker A: Yeah. Are we going to that?
[00:35:31] Speaker B: I want to. Can we get. Can lodge get us comp tickets?
[00:35:35] Speaker C: Yeah, right.
[00:35:36] Speaker B: We put Randy in here for a warm up.
[00:35:37] Speaker C: Heavy batting practice. We are. Yeah.
[00:35:40] Speaker B: Well, it's worth a try. So, hey, come. Come do a warm up over here at the lodge. It's right up his alley. It's perfect for the.
[00:35:45] Speaker A: Right.
[00:35:45] Speaker C: When are you going to listen to the words as they fall from my mouth.
The lodge has no pole. No one gives a shot.
[00:35:56] Speaker B: Well, I was with some comedians this weekend that would say otherwise.
Talking about Bill Cruz and Brady Novak.
Okay, well, you know what else is. I got a notice about today. Let's go down to Phoenix. October 16th for the fastball Comedy Festival held at Cubs spring training Stadium. First night, Bill Burr and Tom Segura. And the second night, Dave Chappelle.
[00:36:28] Speaker C: Wow.
[00:36:29] Speaker B: We've reviewed all them comedians on the program, huh?
[00:36:32] Speaker C: Did you end. Did you get accepted?
[00:36:34] Speaker B: No, I didn't. I didn't send in a tape.
[00:36:36] Speaker C: Submit.
[00:36:37] Speaker B: No, I didn't get it. I didn't send a tape in.
And then last pitch for a show tomorrow night. I'd love it if you'd like to want to come. I think I'm going to make my way out to Northerly island to have one last look at the legend himself.
[00:36:50] Speaker A: Who?
[00:36:51] Speaker B: Willie Nelson.
[00:36:52] Speaker A: Oh, really?
[00:36:53] Speaker B: Never seen Willie in person. And I want to see him and I want to get right up close there. Yeah, yeah.
[00:36:59] Speaker C: You want to stroke his tails?
[00:37:01] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. He's not long for this.
[00:37:03] Speaker C: That's a pretty penny.
[00:37:04] Speaker B: It doesn't look that bad. Doesn't look that bad. So let me know if you want to go.
All right. Last chance to see the man. Kind of like Paul Simon.
[00:37:13] Speaker A: Right, right, right. You got to take it.
[00:37:15] Speaker B: Paul Simon. Is that his name?
[00:37:17] Speaker A: Yeah. Paul Simon is a guy's name. Yeah.
[00:37:20] Speaker C: Two. Two guys.
[00:37:21] Speaker A: There's two guys. I'll bet it's been more. It's probably more than two guys.
[00:37:25] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Paul and Simon. Not. Not the politician.
And don't confuse this comedian. We're reviewing today, Taylor Tomlinson with Paul Simon with NFL running back Ladan Elaine Tomlinson.
They're no relation whatsoever. It's not the same guy.
[00:37:43] Speaker C: Or Taylor Swift.
[00:37:45] Speaker B: Or Taylor Swift. Tomlinson. Taylor Tomlinson and the Special Prodigal Daughter, now playing on Netflix, recently released.
Maybe some are calling her the biggest name in stand up comedy right now.
[00:38:01] Speaker A: No. Shane Gills just sold out that Phillies stadium with like 70,000 people.
[00:38:06] Speaker C: Gillis did.
[00:38:07] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:38:08] Speaker B: John Mulaney, just on that Wrigley Field.
She's big, though. Let's. She's undeniably big.
[00:38:14] Speaker A: She's big.
[00:38:14] Speaker B: All right.
So today we'll be reviewing her latest work as chosen by me because I am, as everyone knows, friend of the female comedian.
[00:38:25] Speaker A: Yeah, it's like your favorite thing.
[00:38:27] Speaker B: Yeah. Love to trumpet.
[00:38:29] Speaker C: Yep. I mean, this is what, the third one in just under two years almost. So I've chosen quite a clip.
[00:38:36] Speaker B: Leanne Morgan.
Zarnagarg.
That you? Zarnagar?
[00:38:41] Speaker A: I thought I chose on it. No, because. Yeah, because I was on a flight with. Somebody's watching it.
[00:38:45] Speaker C: Do you want to bring up the spreadsheet?
[00:38:48] Speaker B: No, don't bring it up.
I know I chose Leanne Morgan, though.
[00:38:52] Speaker C: The Clear, definitive evidence.
[00:38:55] Speaker B: Oh, Beth Stelling. Did I choose her?
[00:38:57] Speaker C: No.
[00:39:00] Speaker A: I'm almost all the way down this list so far. And.
Oh, Liam Morgan.
[00:39:05] Speaker C: That's out of date, right?
[00:39:07] Speaker B: He only had outside shoots.
[00:39:08] Speaker C: Two. You had two? Leon Morgan. Steph Tola.
[00:39:11] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, Steph Tola. That's it.
[00:39:13] Speaker C: That's it.
[00:39:15] Speaker B: Well, here we go. Put. Put me down for three.
[00:39:17] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:39:17] Speaker B: Taylor Tomlinson. Taylor Tomlinson.
Now, if you go back to the early days of the show, I told the Taylor Tomlinson story many years ago and how I was introduced to Taylor Tomlinson. My son had just had his hands smashed into a door at a high school party. He was trying to get into the bathroom and he pushed open the door and I think some. Some young men were in there doing.
Doing things they weren't supposed to be doing.
[00:39:43] Speaker A: Drugs?
[00:39:44] Speaker B: Yeah, I think so. I think so. And he pushed open the door and they. One of the dudes kicked the door.
[00:39:49] Speaker A: Oh, come on.
[00:39:50] Speaker B: Like, to close, like, get out of here.
His hand was in the door and his finger was smashed horribly. His thumb, forefinger. No, his forefinger was index finger. So we had to go to the emergency room. I was at the movies at the time, seeing some horror movie. Anyway, so while in there all night in the emergency room. They have the TV on in the emergency room. You've seen this, right? They have just a TV going. Sure. No, no. Who's in charge of that tv, Right?
[00:40:17] Speaker A: Whoever's got the remote. Yeah, yeah, Whoever, the latest person.
[00:40:20] Speaker B: It's not cable or anything. I think it's just, you know, antenna tv.
[00:40:24] Speaker A: Whoever got there first that day.
[00:40:26] Speaker B: And it was well after midnight, we were there all night and a show was on channel 26, the U, called After Midnight. And it was appropriate. Yeah, After Midnight. After Midnight, hosted by one Taylor Tomlinson. And it had. It was like a game show with a couple comedians that were on it. And they would ask the comedians questions, kind of like, funny you should ask with Byron Allen.
And that was my first introduction to her. And I said, you know what? This, this girl's got some kind of.
Some kind of moxie, some kind of comedy gravitas to be hosting the show. I don't know who this woman is. And she always stayed in my mind. I always wanted to see her work.
[00:41:07] Speaker C: And here we are, Lawrence Taylor. There's another one.
[00:41:11] Speaker B: Oh, you've been thinking about that the whole time.
[00:41:14] Speaker C: Say what you said. Frozen.
[00:41:15] Speaker B: Your face has been looking frozen for
[00:41:16] Speaker C: like 20 minutes now. Say all the stuff you just said again.
[00:41:19] Speaker B: Okay. Lawrence Taylor, LA Daniel and Tomlinson Taylor Swift.
[00:41:26] Speaker A: All related.
My aunt recommended that we review a Taylor Tomlinson special about a year and a half ago.
[00:41:35] Speaker B: So it wasn't this one, but it was another one.
[00:41:37] Speaker A: It was another one, yeah, because I guess she had. She was given tickets to go see her and she said, you know who's great?
[00:41:41] Speaker B: This person, Taylor Thompson. Now let me ask you fellas, did you know anything about Taylor Thompson before watching the special?
[00:41:48] Speaker A: Not outside of that text from my aunt, no.
[00:41:51] Speaker C: I felt like someone, a comedian I knew used to use her as the example of everything that was bad in comedy and. But when I looked up, her age just doesn't jive. So I don't think I know anything about her.
I mean, obviously you've heard the name a million times, blah, blah, blah. But I think I'd avoided her because this comedian was like, you know, but it can't be right.
[00:42:19] Speaker B: Why can't it be right?
[00:42:21] Speaker C: Because she's only 32 and this is 15 years ago.
[00:42:24] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah.
[00:42:25] Speaker C: So
[00:42:28] Speaker B: she's done, it looks like about four specials. Right. She's a 32 year old, born in 1993 and she comes from California.
California. Temecula Valley.
And as I said, she's also hosts a show up all Night. I don't think she still hosts. I think that's.
[00:42:51] Speaker C: That show's dead.
[00:42:52] Speaker A: It's gotta be long gone.
[00:42:54] Speaker B: It's gone.
[00:42:55] Speaker A: This was.
Was that a real church or is that a set?
[00:42:59] Speaker B: So as they, as they open and they show the, the establishing shot of the church, I'm like, that looks like St. Andrews, my church. Yeah, it's a very similar architecture with the circular window.
I didn't know where this was until about midway through when she says, right.
[00:43:16] Speaker A: Grand Rapids.
[00:43:17] Speaker B: Grand Rapids.
[00:43:18] Speaker C: And at the end she said, not all churches are cool like this one.
[00:43:21] Speaker A: Yeah, right.
[00:43:23] Speaker C: So I think that hints at. Yes, it is.
[00:43:25] Speaker B: Oh, no, I think it's definitely a
[00:43:26] Speaker C: church, but wouldn't have to be deconsecrated. If she's talking about bits and bobs.
[00:43:32] Speaker B: It definitely appears to be a Catholic church to me. Just the size and the architecture of it and the stained glass windows and the altar.
I thought the same thing. How can she be doing this? Like shooting a porn in a church.
Right? Like. Yeah, she's right. This seems like sacrilege to me.
[00:43:52] Speaker A: Right.
So maybe they had the outside shot of a real church and then they built a set to look like a church that everybody said and so they get away with the blasphemous speak.
[00:44:03] Speaker C: Yeah, Yeah, I do think that might be Some artifice or whatever you call it, where they had done that. But.
[00:44:11] Speaker B: But you.
[00:44:11] Speaker C: Why. Why nail it.
Why nail the.
[00:44:15] Speaker A: I get it. Nail it.
[00:44:18] Speaker C: Right.
[00:44:18] Speaker B: No, I think it is in a church, and I. I don't think anything is sacred anymore. And what kind of church would sell.
[00:44:24] Speaker A: They're.
[00:44:25] Speaker B: They can't do that. Right. Like you said that. What. What did you say? It's. It would have to be deconstant. Consecrated.
[00:44:30] Speaker A: Deconsecrated.
[00:44:31] Speaker B: I don't know if that's a word. Decons.
[00:44:33] Speaker A: Unconsecrated.
[00:44:34] Speaker C: Deconsecrate is a word. It's what they do to a church.
Not a church anymore.
Like, we once rented an old church down on the south side to film a sitcom pilot.
[00:44:47] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:44:48] Speaker C: The guy who rented it. The guy who rented it to me was doing punk shows there.
The band was on the altar and they pulled a few of the pews
[00:44:57] Speaker B: out, and they were to do that, they'd have to deconsecrate.
[00:45:00] Speaker A: They had to get an anti. Consecrated.
[00:45:02] Speaker B: I wonder what that consists of. Anti. Consecration or deconsecration.
[00:45:06] Speaker C: You buy this, like. It's sort of like a lawn mower. It's called a deconsecrator. Drive it up and down the aisles and like driving out the consecration.
[00:45:16] Speaker A: Yeah, but you know, it has what that lawnmower has.
Come on.
[00:45:23] Speaker B: Holy water.
[00:45:23] Speaker A: Come on, just hit it. Just hit that softball.
Some people call it a.
[00:45:27] Speaker B: Some people call it a Kaiser blade, but I call it.
[00:45:31] Speaker A: There you go.
[00:45:32] Speaker B: Thank you, Jesus.
Some people got a gather blade, but I got a ling blade.
[00:45:39] Speaker C: Well, anyway.
[00:45:39] Speaker B: Anyway, I. This is my first reaction to the special. And as you know, I'm. I'm a Catholic. I do not like this. I do not like comedy being performed in a church.
It seems wrong to me, and I'm not. I can't believe these people would sit in a church and listen to this woman defrock the whole church. Is that right to say that? Defrock.
[00:46:02] Speaker C: Did you look up what the church is?
[00:46:05] Speaker B: What?
[00:46:07] Speaker C: Well, you. In your rage, did you Google where was Graham?
[00:46:12] Speaker B: No.
[00:46:12] Speaker C: Did you? No, because I don't give a.
She could walk out and lay it. Lay some fresh pipe on the stage for all I care.
[00:46:22] Speaker A: What does that mean?
[00:46:23] Speaker C: You're the one who's mad about it, so you should be looking it up.
[00:46:26] Speaker B: What's the point of looking it up? It appears to be in a church. It isn't a church. She wants me to believe it's a church where there was.
[00:46:31] Speaker A: I do want to point out it is the responsibility of the person that picked the comedian to look up and do the research.
[00:46:36] Speaker C: Maybe it's one of these hippie churches.
[00:46:39] Speaker B: No, it's. It's a Catholic church.
[00:46:42] Speaker A: What does lay pipe mean?
[00:46:44] Speaker B: It means it can mean a couple things.
[00:46:45] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:46:46] Speaker B: The way he said it meant to. To lay.
[00:46:51] Speaker A: Really?
[00:46:53] Speaker C: Some cable.
[00:46:53] Speaker A: I gotta go. Yeah, but it was too much for me.
[00:46:56] Speaker C: See, you didn't even look it up.
That's. That's.
[00:46:59] Speaker B: I was exhausted.
I'm exhausted. I can't.
[00:47:03] Speaker A: From laughing so hard.
[00:47:05] Speaker C: I mean, if this.
[00:47:05] Speaker B: Can we just assume that it was a church? I don't. Do I have to look it up?
[00:47:08] Speaker C: Yeah, but you need to know which one context.
[00:47:11] Speaker A: I can see you looking it up through your.
[00:47:13] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:47:14] Speaker A: Reflection in your sunglasses.
[00:47:15] Speaker C: I think.
Well, I think this, this episode is way too pacey and we need to slow it down by having you sit there and do that for two minutes.
[00:47:25] Speaker A: It's like a Tarantino movie.
[00:47:27] Speaker B: I looked it up.
[00:47:29] Speaker A: Where is it? What kind of church is it? It's a Catholic church. Right. They did have very progressive flaggage outside of the church. Did you notice that in the beginning?
[00:47:39] Speaker B: Oh, what?
[00:47:39] Speaker A: They had rainbow colored flags outside. Oh, they did? Yes.
[00:47:43] Speaker B: I didn't notice that.
[00:47:44] Speaker A: Which is probably why she said it's a cool church.
[00:47:47] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:47:48] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:47:49] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:47:49] Speaker B: Okay, so this. I was wrong. The location is in Grand Rapids. It's 103-year-old Neo Romanesque structure. It's the Fountain Street Church, Grand Rapids. And it's a non creedal, no creed, radically liberal congregation known for supporting LGBTQ rights, free speech and social justice. It has hosted public comedy events and speakers for years.
You could not have done this in a Catholic church.
[00:48:15] Speaker A: So does that mean it's not a church?
[00:48:17] Speaker B: It is, but it's like the church of the free spirit.
[00:48:20] Speaker A: Sure.
[00:48:21] Speaker C: Yeah. Just tax dodge. We used to go on the piss to Derby in what used to be a church.
Sitting there. Yeah. You'd be sitting there having a pint and there's stained glass windows and.
[00:48:33] Speaker A: That sounds pretty.
[00:48:33] Speaker B: Darby's a town.
[00:48:34] Speaker A: Yeah, that'd be great if there was a bar and a church. An old church. What a great spot that would be.
[00:48:40] Speaker C: Yeah. I always thought Excalibur was a church.
[00:48:44] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, you thought it was a church.
[00:48:45] Speaker B: Yeah, might have been.
Look, Castlesque.
You know who else lived in a church?
R. Kelly.
He, you know they convert some of these churches into apartment buildings. He lived in an old church.
Doing many unchurch like things in there, I imagine.
[00:49:04] Speaker C: Well, it sounded like he was doing church like things actually.
Hey. Well, you get to the review.
[00:49:11] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, you must have loved this kind of anti religion comedy. It's right up your alley.
[00:49:16] Speaker C: Well, here you go.
This to me, was a special of two halves. The first half, I could give a shit about it. I was seriously thinking, if she's just gonna keep this up, we can all sit and point out the ridiculousness and idiocy of religion all day.
And I feel like a lot.
[00:49:38] Speaker B: Yeah, we've heard it enough.
[00:49:39] Speaker C: A lot of comedians are doing it. I don't want to not hear it because I don't agree with it. I want to not hear it because I'm bored of it.
I'm so bored of it.
Catholic priest jokes. Isn't religion ridiculous? They just.
And God knows she beat that to death. But I will say this. When she dropped that.
[00:50:04] Speaker B: When did she drop that?
[00:50:05] Speaker C: 25 minutes in it, this thing turned to gold.
[00:50:10] Speaker B: What?
It turned to gold. It never, it never got off the religious material.
[00:50:15] Speaker C: Did.
[00:50:17] Speaker B: Did.
[00:50:17] Speaker A: That's funny.
[00:50:18] Speaker B: When she started talking about her, her sexuality and whatnot, I did the complete pipe opinion.
[00:50:25] Speaker A: I really liked the first half hour, 45 minutes. Yeah, I agree with you that the church thing, the religious thing, it's overdone. But she had good jokes. She. The pacing was good. She. She was just moving like. She, yeah, she, she was very clearly. She, she had written this and really thought. I mean, it was just. I thought it was really solid comedy. And, and I didn't, I didn't like the second half after it switched all of a sudden to almost like a sermon. I felt like I was actually at church.
[00:50:51] Speaker C: Yeah, I mean, there was a bit of virtue signal in there, but hey, this is comedy in 2026. You're gonna get.
[00:50:56] Speaker A: I don't think it was comedy, but the second half I didn't laugh. The first half I was laughing. Second half I was not laughing.
[00:51:03] Speaker C: Huh, that's weird. It was a game of two halves. Whichever way came at started getting good when she was talking about the grief support group.
But let's be honest, she doesn't know. She does not have a bad joke. She just has jokes that you are not interested in hearing because they're all good.
[00:51:22] Speaker B: Why? What makes them good?
[00:51:24] Speaker C: Crafting. She's a crafts craftsman.
[00:51:27] Speaker B: Wordsmith.
[00:51:28] Speaker C: She's a wordsmith. She's fast. She's Pacey. She's.
[00:51:31] Speaker A: Yeah, she.
[00:51:32] Speaker B: You like that? Kind of community? Pro. She's a pro.
[00:51:34] Speaker A: Yeah, right. Yeah.
[00:51:36] Speaker B: Well polished. Pro.
[00:51:39] Speaker C: So to me, the turning point, like, I've got a church stuff, couple stuff, God stuff, Christian stuff, ducks in a barrel. That's what I've written. And then it starts.
[00:51:50] Speaker B: Ducks in a barrel means shooting ducks in a barrel.
[00:51:52] Speaker C: Is it fish in a barrel?
[00:51:53] Speaker B: It's fish in a barrel. But what is that?
[00:51:55] Speaker A: Yeah, it's fish in a barrel.
[00:51:56] Speaker C: Is it ducks on a pond?
[00:51:57] Speaker B: Ducks on a pond?
[00:51:58] Speaker A: No, ducks in a row.
[00:51:58] Speaker B: Ducks in a row.
[00:51:59] Speaker A: You get all your ducks in a row.
[00:52:01] Speaker C: So she has a fish in a barrel in the docks, but they say
[00:52:05] Speaker B: ducks on the pond from. In a baseball euphemism. There are ducks on the pond.
[00:52:09] Speaker A: What does that mean? People on base.
[00:52:10] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:52:11] Speaker C: Oh, fish in a barrel. Up until then. Then I've got grief support group. Good inheritance, slash wills. Good. Death and cremation. Good bush PA story.
[00:52:27] Speaker B: Really good bush Pace George, her assistant
[00:52:30] Speaker A: that removed the bush and.
[00:52:31] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, that was good.
[00:52:33] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:52:33] Speaker C: Yeah.
Bibles something good.
Surrogate parent bit. Very good.
Child's. Child's childhood childbirth.
[00:52:49] Speaker B: I can't believe we're sitting here while you go through all these.
[00:52:51] Speaker A: How long is this gonna take?
[00:52:52] Speaker C: Good, good, good. I mean, you know, I think I've made my point.
[00:52:56] Speaker B: Yeah, I think you did.
[00:52:58] Speaker C: All right, I'm not going to talk anymore in this episode because I'm getting depressed now.
[00:53:02] Speaker B: You feel like you've talked a lot?
[00:53:04] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:53:05] Speaker B: How many pounds? How many pounds are you down now?
[00:53:08] Speaker C: Two more pounds. Whoa.
Go.
[00:53:11] Speaker A: So are you up to 20?
[00:53:11] Speaker B: You're at 22.
[00:53:12] Speaker A: Are you up to 22 now?
[00:53:13] Speaker B: You're down 22.
[00:53:15] Speaker A: Not after that meat pie. After that meat pie and baklava.
[00:53:17] Speaker C: Actually, no. A load of people bought me chocky and stuff for my birthday, going, go on, cheat a bit. And my weight went up three pounds and I was gutted. But then all of a sudden, it went again. Anyway, I'm done.
Stop goading me into conversation.
[00:53:34] Speaker B: You goad me into this Sheen Easton bullshit every week.
[00:53:36] Speaker C: Finish out this episode. I'll try and bring me occasionally, bring
[00:53:40] Speaker B: me a private Heaven cassette.
Don't do that.
You're affecting my marriage.
[00:53:48] Speaker C: You're affecting my entire being.
[00:53:52] Speaker B: What else did you get at the Thrift or the.
[00:53:53] Speaker C: Not interested.
Not interested.
Finish it out.
[00:53:59] Speaker A: Are those. Are those sunglasses prescription?
[00:54:01] Speaker B: No, I think they're women's, though.
[00:54:03] Speaker A: Are they?
[00:54:04] Speaker B: I think so.
[00:54:04] Speaker A: Huh.
Hey, it's not a funny story. Kind of is, but I went to that crosstown classic.
[00:54:12] Speaker B: Who did You. Which?
[00:54:14] Speaker A: The. The third one. The one that. The socks.
[00:54:15] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:54:17] Speaker A: A buddy of mine, an old band mate. He was in town and had a couple extra tickets, so I ended up there with. With Borky and another. A couple that I hadn't met yet. Right. So anyway, we're there. So now a couple weeks ago, there's this bar called Four Moon Tavern.
[00:54:30] Speaker B: Oh, I mean, I live right there.
[00:54:32] Speaker A: You know what I'm talking about. It's my favorite place. I love that spot.
[00:54:35] Speaker B: It's an actors bar, but.
[00:54:36] Speaker A: Oh, is it?
Actually, I know about it because there was a comedian that came here that told me. She is one of the owners. Anyway, so I stopped in there once a couple years ago. I've been going back ever since. So when I. Where A couple weeks ago, Borky's over there with a couple friends. And for whatever reason, they're reading the Google reviews for Four Moons Tavern. I think they're gonna leave one for the Tavern. And one of the reviews says, I like this place, but the food is appalling.
And now this was the only review out of all of them that the owner actually replied to and said, appalling. You know, which I agree with. Like appalling. That's a strong word, first of all, for anything, you know. But I've had a lot of the food. It's not. It's certainly not.
[00:55:14] Speaker B: I like the food.
[00:55:15] Speaker A: Yeah, it's not appalling.
[00:55:15] Speaker B: It's been good by any.
[00:55:17] Speaker A: You're right, stretch. So anyway, so we're laughing about it. Move on. Then we're at the game and we're talking. Now the game's in like the seventh inning. We're talking about where we're going after this, you know. So I recommended maybe we go to Four Moon and this woman that we've been hanging out with all day, really nice person, she says, I like that bar a lot, but I don't really like the food. As a matter of fact, I just left a review recently about the food. And I looked at her, I said, you're appalling. Did you use the word appalling? And she said, yeah, how'd you know that? And I said, oh my God, you gotta be joking me. Borky, get over here. This is the appalling lady. And now that's become a joke. I've told all the bartenders there since then about it.
[00:55:54] Speaker B: Did she find humor in it or why did she say the food was appalling?
[00:55:57] Speaker A: She said it was. I don't know. She said it was appalling. I said, I've had everything. She said, have you had the onion rings? I said, that's what I get every time I go there.
[00:56:03] Speaker B: She thought those were appalling.
[00:56:04] Speaker A: She thought they were appalling.
[00:56:05] Speaker B: What does she Mean by appalling. Exactly.
[00:56:08] Speaker A: Exactly. Like, how do you use a word like appalling to describe.
[00:56:11] Speaker B: Yeah, that's harsh.
[00:56:12] Speaker A: Pretty good bar language. Yeah, right.
[00:56:15] Speaker B: That's. That's.
[00:56:15] Speaker A: So I met the appalling lady.
[00:56:17] Speaker B: What do you think about that story, Mark?
[00:56:19] Speaker C: That's all right.
[00:56:20] Speaker B: Sorry. Quiet.
[00:56:21] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:56:22] Speaker A: Can you review it? Can you. Did he take notes over here?
[00:56:25] Speaker B: Thinking about Chalky?
[00:56:28] Speaker C: I call that story good.
[00:56:30] Speaker B: You'd call it good.
[00:56:32] Speaker A: All right.
[00:56:34] Speaker B: Okay. Well, I'd never seen Taylor Tomlinson's act before this. I was rather looking forward to it.
I like the. The quote, the Oscar Wilde quote that it begins with. You'll always be fond of someone who says something.
I don't know, whatever it was. And then she gets into AI and. And I'm like, okay, I thought that joke about being jealous of her robot boyfriend because hanging out by the dishwasher.
[00:57:01] Speaker A: Right. That was great.
[00:57:02] Speaker B: Dishwasher.
[00:57:03] Speaker A: Right. It was gold. All of it.
[00:57:05] Speaker B: Had a big rack and was wetter than her. I was like this. All right.
And then right into the religious stuff. And I never. I don't.
I guess she did change course a little bit at the end. To me, it was just identity comedy again. Here we go.
[00:57:23] Speaker A: It was. It very much. Right. I think it appeals. I. I liked it because I grew up in a house like that, you know, so to me, I was like, oh, this is perfect. Like, yeah, right. Right up my alley.
[00:57:32] Speaker B: Yeah. And she was being validated all over the place on Reddit for her.
[00:57:35] Speaker A: Sure, sure.
[00:57:36] Speaker B: Dismantling of.
[00:57:38] Speaker A: I can see why it's. Yeah.
[00:57:39] Speaker B: A religious upbringing, but I can see why it's.
[00:57:42] Speaker A: If. If you don't have that outlook, you might look at it like, okay, more of the same.
[00:57:46] Speaker B: Yeah. And then the end where she.
She does the video thing. That was brilliant. Yeah, that was really well done. That was one of the best endings I've ever seen. Like, she said, you know, I'm gonna come back and, you know, have changed my tune and all this. Oh, let me just show. And she. That was. That was amazingly done.
[00:58:05] Speaker A: Yeah. Any. Any sort of like extra touch like that.
[00:58:07] Speaker B: Yeah. But I'd say the other. The 95%. In between that and the beginning, I hated. I stone faced this TV really for an. A good hour.
[00:58:20] Speaker A: Halfway through, I was watching, I'm like, I'm giving this five out of five. Really? I was ready to give it a perfect score.
[00:58:25] Speaker C: Is that just because she's female comedian, though?
[00:58:29] Speaker B: No, not just.
[00:58:34] Speaker A: Yeah. He said he's not talking anymore. And then he uses one opportunity to trust me.
[00:58:39] Speaker C: When I talk, you're going to know about it.
[00:58:41] Speaker B: Oh, jeez.
[00:58:42] Speaker A: Because of the microphone.
[00:58:43] Speaker B: When you talk, people listen.
[00:58:44] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:58:44] Speaker B: Like E.F. hutton.
[00:58:49] Speaker C: That song is When I Talk.
[00:58:53] Speaker B: Another Sheena Easton reference for your eyes.
[00:58:59] Speaker C: Well, there's a racial expletive. There's a. What's the song with the lyrics? When I talk. Expletive, listen.
When I talk. Like E.F. hutton. Expletive, racial expletives, Listen.
[00:59:12] Speaker B: Racial expletive, listen. I don't know.
It's like a rap song, though. It is racial expletive in it.
[00:59:18] Speaker A: Expletive.
[00:59:19] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
[00:59:21] Speaker B: You're talking too much.
[00:59:22] Speaker C: Why? What's EF Hunting got to do with anything?
[00:59:24] Speaker B: EF Hutton was a commercial. Was a financial brokerage firm that would have commercials in the 80s and say when PE. When we talk, people listen.
[00:59:34] Speaker A: All right, what are you digging in your bag for?
[00:59:37] Speaker C: It was kind of a random thing for you.
[00:59:40] Speaker B: Remember that from the rap song?
[00:59:41] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:59:41] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:59:44] Speaker C: Must be a song I really like.
[00:59:45] Speaker B: Why are you getting out your phone and hitting the buttons?
[00:59:47] Speaker C: I'm going to look at it.
[00:59:48] Speaker B: Okay, So I didn't come to, like, care for this program one bit. I didn't. I don't like her look.
I don't like the way she talks.
[00:59:59] Speaker A: Really.
[01:00:00] Speaker B: I don't like. I don't like her facial expressions, her mannerisms.
I don't like her taking down of an institution I hold sacred.
[01:00:09] Speaker A: Do you think that's the root of all?
[01:00:11] Speaker B: Like, she's got to be like Methodist.
[01:00:12] Speaker A: If she wasn't religion bashing, do you think you would have a different opinion about, I don't know, her fate? Right. How would you.
[01:00:20] Speaker B: No, I. I don't like her. She. She reminds me of the.
[01:00:24] Speaker C: The.
[01:00:25] Speaker B: The child actor from like, the Disney Channel or whatever. Amanda Bynes. Remember Amanda?
[01:00:31] Speaker A: Yeah, I think I. Yeah, I think so.
[01:00:33] Speaker B: She was in, like.
[01:00:35] Speaker A: I know that. I remember the name.
[01:00:36] Speaker B: That movie about the guy. And she dressed up as a boy.
[01:00:39] Speaker A: Yeah, I know what you're talking about.
[01:00:41] Speaker B: Amanda Bynes. Mark, do you know Amanda Bynes?
The. The child?
[01:00:45] Speaker C: She's just one of them generic Disney.
[01:00:48] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:00:49] Speaker C: Children.
[01:00:49] Speaker B: And that's who she seemed to me like. Taylor Tomlinson was a Disney actor turned comedian. And I don't care for it. I don't care for the material. I don't care for her polished joke writing.
Yeah. I don't care for any of this.
[01:01:08] Speaker C: The song is Little Kim. Will they die for you?
[01:01:11] Speaker B: Okay, and what's the lyric? And E.F. hutton talks. Racial expletive.
[01:01:17] Speaker C: I'm like. I'm like E.F.
i'm like E.F. hutton when I talk. Expletives listen.
[01:01:24] Speaker B: Expletives listen.
Okay, great.
[01:01:29] Speaker C: Will I die for you? It's on the south park album.
[01:01:34] Speaker B: Oh, okay.
The movie. South Park. The movie or the show? Okay.
So, yeah, I don't like. I. I don't care for this person, their comedy, any of it.
[01:01:47] Speaker A: Did you draw. Did you make a drawing?
I drew.
[01:01:50] Speaker B: Yeah. I only did a couple drawings of the.
[01:01:53] Speaker A: Her.
[01:01:54] Speaker B: Her chain. Like up here.
[01:01:56] Speaker A: Why are you putting your hand over it?
[01:01:57] Speaker B: I'm sorry, I can't see what. I'm. Her chain.
[01:02:00] Speaker A: Oh, and she had an upside down cross on her.
[01:02:03] Speaker B: Was that an upside down cross? Like the devil?
[01:02:05] Speaker A: Yeah. Come on. In a church?
[01:02:07] Speaker B: No, I. It didn't look like an inverse cross.
[01:02:10] Speaker A: Yes, it was.
[01:02:11] Speaker B: Get the.
[01:02:12] Speaker A: It was an upside down cross. 100%.
[01:02:15] Speaker B: Did you see it?
[01:02:15] Speaker C: No.
[01:02:17] Speaker B: Were you not watching or were you just futzing around the house?
[01:02:20] Speaker C: No, I was watching.
[01:02:21] Speaker B: Yeah, I don't know about that.
[01:02:24] Speaker A: It was.
[01:02:25] Speaker B: That means devil.
[01:02:26] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:02:27] Speaker B: I think it was just like a.
[01:02:28] Speaker C: That was quite a sassy outfit she had on. Yeah, I'll say that.
[01:02:31] Speaker B: What do you mean by sassy?
[01:02:33] Speaker C: It's very come hither. Very, very comely. Yeah.
[01:02:37] Speaker B: Come hither.
Yeah, saucy. You mean saucy.
[01:02:41] Speaker A: Yeah, saucy. What did he say?
[01:02:43] Speaker B: He said sassy.
[01:02:45] Speaker C: Saucy.
[01:02:45] Speaker A: Sassy. Interchangeable.
[01:02:46] Speaker C: Yeah, same thing.
[01:02:49] Speaker B: I don't think that was a. We got to look that up. I don't think that was an inverted cross.
[01:02:52] Speaker A: Yes, it was. I'll look it up right now.
[01:02:54] Speaker B: But it did not appear to be a standard crucifix, that's for sure. It almost looked like a T. Like a red.
[01:02:59] Speaker A: Like an American Red Cross.
[01:03:01] Speaker B: Yeah, like an American Red Cross. T. Not the right crucifix.
[01:03:05] Speaker A: It wasn't a crucifix. It was a cross, which also looks like a T. So.
[01:03:08] Speaker B: Yeah, well, you figure that out.
So I wrote down that this special
[01:03:16] Speaker A: basically, look, the first thing when I start searching it. The Taylor Thomason wearing upside down cross. Oh, no, she didn't. I told you it looked like it.
[01:03:25] Speaker B: What was it?
[01:03:26] Speaker A: I don't know. It doesn't say. I'm trying to find out. Social media users debated a necklace she wore during her promotional content.
Oh, but this doesn't have anything. Oh, wait a second.
[01:03:36] Speaker B: It's like a neutral cross,
[01:03:40] Speaker A: but she wears standard or sim.
I don't know. I still think it was across. I think this is a. This is just.
[01:03:46] Speaker C: AI do you think people are paid to what to wear on the special now?
[01:03:51] Speaker B: Payola like golfers have. Yeah, like golfers get paid to wear the clothes of the.
[01:03:57] Speaker A: Or you know how like, because they
[01:03:58] Speaker C: don't even have to say promotional considerate. Because people have got a phone app and if a woman goes or a man goes, oh, I like the look of that. They just snap it and it tells you.
[01:04:07] Speaker A: Or what it does. What about, you know how they're putting like logos on NFL and NHL jerseys now?
[01:04:14] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:04:14] Speaker A: You know, advertisement. Maybe they start doing that with stand up comics.
[01:04:18] Speaker C: Yeah, I didn't think they could do that.
[01:04:20] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. And Milk out of all of them was like one of the first ones.
[01:04:24] Speaker C: That was always the weirdest thing to me that like British football had shirt logos before American sport, which is just all about money.
[01:04:35] Speaker B: Yeah. That does that. You wouldn't think, right?
[01:04:37] Speaker C: Yeah, you would think if, if anywhere is going to be plastered with sponsors getting there. It's American sport.
[01:04:44] Speaker A: But I guess that wasn't the case. And that's how the cookie crumbles.
What's that from?
That's Bruce Nolan from Bruce Almighty.
[01:04:52] Speaker B: Nice callback.
[01:04:54] Speaker A: Thank you.
[01:04:54] Speaker B: That was a great callback.
And then I would say, speaking of callbacks for ending callback with.
What was the callback?
[01:05:05] Speaker C: Well, the callback was the whole Prodigal Daughter.
[01:05:07] Speaker B: Yeah, the prodigal daughter.
[01:05:08] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:05:09] Speaker B: Was a good one.
[01:05:10] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:05:11] Speaker B: So I wrote this special is basically like, for me, like drawing a picture of Muhammad for a mus. For a Muslim.
[01:05:19] Speaker C: Right.
[01:05:19] Speaker B: Like it's that offensive to me.
You're going to go into church and say all these bad things about my, my God and my religion and Jesus and poke fun at Jesus. It's like drawing a picture of Muhammad for me.
[01:05:34] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:05:35] Speaker A: I, I could see it. I respect that.
[01:05:38] Speaker C: I don't really respect him, but.
[01:05:39] Speaker A: I know you don't.
[01:05:40] Speaker B: I know. Yeah.
And so that's all I have to say about that. And I'll start off our. Well, review of five inverted crosses. I will give her.
[01:05:51] Speaker C: No, hang on. How, How? Calvary. That's where the crosses were, right?
[01:05:58] Speaker B: He was crucified.
[01:05:59] Speaker C: Yeah. Is she full Calvary or full Calvary?
[01:06:03] Speaker B: Well, whatever you call. Whatever you want.
[01:06:04] Speaker C: Call the calvary.
[01:06:07] Speaker B: I'm giving it a zero.
[01:06:09] Speaker A: You're giving it zero?
[01:06:10] Speaker B: I'm giving it zero. Wow.
[01:06:12] Speaker A: All right. Tom Kite coming out with a zero.
[01:06:15] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:06:16] Speaker B: It's. It's blasphemy.
[01:06:17] Speaker A: All right. It just.
[01:06:18] Speaker B: I can't even evaluate it on any other level other than blast.
[01:06:21] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:06:21] Speaker C: All right.
[01:06:22] Speaker B: It's Blasphemous.
[01:06:23] Speaker C: We sort of making me like it more now. You've corrupting my view.
[01:06:29] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, the first half of it, like I said, I was ready to give it five out of five.
The second half is more of a two to me, so I think that evens out at around 3.3.5. 3.25.
[01:06:41] Speaker B: Because you wanted more religious humor.
[01:06:43] Speaker A: No, I just feel like the joke stopped, you know, all of a sudden. I felt like I was getting preached to and like.
[01:06:48] Speaker C: I don't know how you can say the joke stopped.
[01:06:50] Speaker B: Maybe you watched it backwards and it was the version.
[01:06:53] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:06:53] Speaker B: Reverse.
[01:06:54] Speaker A: Yeah.
Yeah. I just. I. I didn't. I didn't find the second half entertaining.
[01:06:59] Speaker C: I wonder if you did play it backwards, there would be messages from Satan.
[01:07:03] Speaker A: Maybe there would be.
[01:07:03] Speaker C: Yeah. Like a Floyd album.
[01:07:05] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:07:07] Speaker C: Huh.
[01:07:08] Speaker B: Yeah. What about. We didn't talk about her sexuality and her coming out as bisexual because I'm bisexual, so that I did come to like her for that.
[01:07:18] Speaker A: And it's still a zero. Huh?
[01:07:20] Speaker B: Still a zero, even though she's like me in that regard.
[01:07:25] Speaker A: Not much of an ally, are you?
[01:07:27] Speaker B: No.
[01:07:28] Speaker C: No.
[01:07:30] Speaker A: Mark, what's your rating?
[01:07:32] Speaker C: 3 out of 5. Whatever bullshit thing we're doing.
[01:07:35] Speaker A: All right, great.
[01:07:36] Speaker B: 3 out of 5. Calvary.
[01:07:38] Speaker C: Yep.
[01:07:39] Speaker B: And why not? It seemed like you were gonna go higher with this route.
[01:07:44] Speaker C: Well, I said first 25 minutes. I was just yawning like, enough with this.
If you just. If you'd have edited it. Cut that out. I'd have given a five out of five.
[01:07:57] Speaker A: What they should do is chop it in half. Show the first half to me, show the second half to Mark, and we both would have been here giving it 5 out of 5.
[01:08:03] Speaker B: Yep. It had been plenty long enough.
[01:08:05] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:08:06] Speaker B: Half hour clip.
All right, well, you heard it here. 3.5. 3 out of 5 and 0 for the blasphemic content is against my religion.
[01:08:18] Speaker A: Who do we got next?
[01:08:19] Speaker C: That's me in the corner, losing my religion.
[01:08:24] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:08:27] Speaker A: Speaking of not sleeping your rems. You are.
[01:08:31] Speaker C: Who's next?
[01:08:32] Speaker A: You are. Yeah.
[01:08:34] Speaker C: Do I have to pretend that I didn't say it last week?
[01:08:37] Speaker A: Yeah. Otherwise the lawyers are going to come after us and we're going to get shut down. We're going to get sued to an.
[01:08:41] Speaker B: I shut it down by everybody.
[01:08:43] Speaker A: Yeah.
I can't believe you just said that. We have to erase this whole episode now,
[01:08:49] Speaker B: Tom Kite.
[01:08:54] Speaker C: All right, well, I didn't say this yet last week, so I'm saying it for the first time ever now.
Tignataro oh, you did?
[01:09:05] Speaker B: No, no, I thought you weren't gonna do that.
[01:09:08] Speaker A: Hey, by the way.
By the way, speaking of which, I have gotten so much enjoyment all week out of remembering how pissed off you were at Fred Armisen's Stand up for Drummers. The look on your face has crossed my mind. While you were yelling about how much you hated it.
I think I enjoyed that more than the special itself.
[01:09:30] Speaker B: Well, I'm glad to have given you that.
[01:09:33] Speaker A: It's the gift that keeps giving for you.
[01:09:34] Speaker B: I guess.
[01:09:35] Speaker A: So.
[01:09:35] Speaker C: Anyway, we're going with my old mate, Tig.
[01:09:39] Speaker A: What's the name of. What's the name of the special?
[01:09:41] Speaker C: Well, I don't want to. I don't want to blow all my great anecdotes on this episode. Okay.
[01:09:46] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Save them for next week. Great anecdotes about Tig Notaro. Oh, God.
[01:09:52] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:09:53] Speaker B: We gotta. We gotta. Christian. Once he's done with this Tig Nataro, you gotta bring it back to something good and classic. Like you are.
[01:09:59] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, yeah.
[01:10:00] Speaker B: Want to do you know?
[01:10:02] Speaker A: Yeah. We've been in this other world for long enough.
[01:10:05] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:10:05] Speaker A: What's the name of the Technotaro special that we're doing?
[01:10:08] Speaker B: Yeah, the people want to watch it.
[01:10:09] Speaker C: Happy to be here.
