[00:00:08] Speaker A: I was thinking, what does £30 of lard look like? [00:00:11] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, have you ever seen Volume? They used to, like, on one of those daytime shows, there was, like, Richard Simmons, or one of them would go around with, like, this is what, a pound? Yeah, Right. This is what a pound of fat looks like. It's huge. [00:00:23] Speaker C: Yeah, well, not a pound, but maybe 5, 10, 20 pounds is a huge. [00:00:27] Speaker B: So if you lost 30 of them, well, that's like a 30. That's like a. [00:00:32] Speaker C: Take your shirt off. [00:00:34] Speaker B: Yeah, pop that top off. Let's see what you got. Let's see what you got going on under the hood. [00:00:38] Speaker C: Yeah, you're hiding under the hood. [00:00:39] Speaker A: No, no, I'm still a fat. I've still got fatty titty tits. [00:00:44] Speaker C: Well, I don't know why Fatty Titty [00:00:46] Speaker B: Tits is a new podcast. [00:00:48] Speaker C: Yeah, well, because your skin is stretched out. [00:00:51] Speaker B: No, no. Isn't that special with fatty titty tits? [00:00:53] Speaker A: And even when I was fit, like, [00:00:57] Speaker C: you got nipples, Fat nipples? [00:01:00] Speaker A: No, no. [00:01:01] Speaker C: Sagging breasts. [00:01:02] Speaker A: Yeah. What was that? Titty bags. [00:01:05] Speaker C: Did you ever lift weights? [00:01:07] Speaker A: Yeah, I did. [00:01:08] Speaker C: Yeah. Well, that should have fixed it. It didn't bench press. [00:01:12] Speaker A: Even when I was fit, this was first place. [00:01:16] Speaker C: Maybe your idea of fit is not the same as. No, I was fit in the magazines. [00:01:21] Speaker A: It was fit. I mean, I wasn't, you know, I wasn't like a chimp, like, you know, one of them, but I was fit. [00:01:27] Speaker C: Carrying Invisible lu. Oh, my God. Look at that. [00:01:29] Speaker B: I was gonna say in this picture right here. You can see the difference. [00:01:32] Speaker C: It's a bar. [00:01:33] Speaker B: Before and after. [00:01:34] Speaker C: Did you see that? [00:01:36] Speaker B: You see my modifications to the studio? [00:01:38] Speaker C: Seaman, that is amazing. Yes, those are. [00:01:44] Speaker B: One is a picture of you wearing a wig. [00:01:46] Speaker C: That's you with the hairpiece on. [00:01:48] Speaker B: And the other one is you fixing Bill's car while Straggler saunters by and Bill gives me a hood of the Volvo. Bill's flashing a smile with a. With a pipe in his mouth at the camera. [00:02:00] Speaker A: That picture better not be in wider distribution. [00:02:03] Speaker B: What, the. The wig one? Yeah, it's. [00:02:06] Speaker C: It is now. [00:02:06] Speaker B: It's on our website. [00:02:08] Speaker C: Take a picture of it. [00:02:09] Speaker A: If that gets into Kelsey's hands, I'm holding. [00:02:12] Speaker B: I've sent it to the entire cast. Drill's getting it tattooed. Yeah. [00:02:17] Speaker C: You've never looked happier than you do in that picture. [00:02:19] Speaker B: No, I'm just kidding. [00:02:21] Speaker A: Dj. [00:02:22] Speaker B: Yeah. You look like Rod Stewart. Maybe a little bit. [00:02:29] Speaker A: Wait, what weight was I then? I was still massive. [00:02:32] Speaker B: I think that's before you even started losing anything. Yeah, that was before your Journey. [00:02:36] Speaker C: Well, that was your birthday. So when. When did you. [00:02:39] Speaker A: I'd started then you'd started. I swear to God, this puffy paint is leeching into the glass and then into the. [00:02:48] Speaker B: It's gonna make you feel sassy. Smart, spectacular, super sexy. Snazzy. [00:02:53] Speaker C: He was talking about roofing you. Yeah, I don't know if he did. [00:02:56] Speaker B: I did with some puffy paint. [00:02:57] Speaker A: What do you. What were you doing to get the Babylons involved, anyway? [00:03:01] Speaker B: The Babylons? [00:03:02] Speaker C: Brian Babylon. [00:03:03] Speaker A: No, the Babylon. You're the reggae buff. [00:03:08] Speaker C: What. [00:03:08] Speaker A: What do. What do rasters call the police? The Babylons. [00:03:13] Speaker B: Oh, the police report take you away. It's an old. It's an. It's an old. I don't know. Goings on from last May in Buffalo. I was with my sisters at a. At a karaoke bar. And the bouncer didn't. Something about me rubbed him the wrong way. And before I knew it, I was just. I'm talking to my sisters, and I noticed he's, like, standing there. He's got a drink in his hand. He's the guy that, like, checked my ID on the way in. He wanted to scan it. Here's what it was. He wanted to scan it. And I said, nah, I don't really want you to scan it. You know, you can just look at it. You can tell how. Why did they scan it? Exactly. [00:03:52] Speaker C: Why would you not want it? [00:03:53] Speaker B: I don't want them selling my information. I don't know where all that goes. You know, I'm very careful about that sort of thing. So I said, I prefer you don't scan it. He got real upset about it. He's like, I have to scan it. He's fucking lost his mind. [00:04:05] Speaker A: So I said, reuter. [00:04:07] Speaker B: He seemed. He was. There was something. There was something going on with this guy. So I said, fine, scan it. You know what? It's not worth it. So I'm talking to my sisters later. We're just kind of standing in a circle. I noticed, like, all of a sudden, he's kind of, like, sidled up, like, right behind one of them. He's leaning against the pole, drinking an alcoholic beverage on the clock. You know, as a bouncer, he's got, like. He's got, like, a bulletproof vest on. Like, he takes this job super seriously. [00:04:28] Speaker A: Definitely got Roy. [00:04:30] Speaker B: And he's. And he's staring at me just right in the face, just looking at me in the eyes. And this was. This is at a place called the 26th, which is a 26 Allen in Buffalo, New York. And I'm talking to my sister. I'm looking at him. Finally I said, hey, is everything all right? What's going on here? He said. Then he kind of pushed my sisters aside and got right into my face. He said, you tell me if everything's all right. Like, all right, man. So I kind of stepped back. I started de. Escalating a little bit. I'm like, listen, man. You're just like. You're standing there staring at me. It's weird. He's like, you tell me if everything's all right. Why are you telling me? I gotta say to you that everything's all right. He's just freaking out. He starts flipping out, and I'm looking at him. Before you know it, then he grabs me. He starts pulling me towards the door. He's shoving me. And as he is, I'm just, like, kind of going along with it. Like, I'm not fighting back against this guy, you know, my hands are in the air. I'm just kind of looking around, looking at the bartenders. She's kind of watching what's going on. Turns out she was one of the owners. And so he shoves me out the door. Then my sister's ex boyfriend, who was with us, we're all still friends. He's like, hey, what the heck, man? He grabs him by the throat, throws him out the door, shoves my sisters out the door. And he's standing outside screaming, I'm gonna break your effing necks. I'm gonna break your effing necks. [00:05:43] Speaker C: If you don't even look at me [00:05:44] Speaker B: in the face, I'm gonna break it. And we're all like, this all happened within, like, under 30 seconds. So, of course. I mean, I was like, let's just go. Let's. We're leaving. We're going, you know? So we walk down the street and flag down a police officer. I was like, hey, this guy over here at this bar just assaulted me and my sisters. And, you know, this guy, this other guy. [00:06:03] Speaker C: So. [00:06:03] Speaker B: So we had to fill out a police report, all that good stuff. And yeah, so then, since then, there's a. My sister, she was not happy about it. So she's. She's like, what can we do about this? And then finally I get to the point. I'm like, who cares? I'm already going back to Chicago. Whatever things happen, leave it in the past. And she's like, no, I don't think so. And she works in municipality in Buffalo. So she's like, no, I'm not letting this guy get away with this. This is bullshit. You can't. Like, she's like, I'm. Every time. It feels like every time I go to Buffalo, something like this happens, she's like, this is a stain on our city. You know, like, this can't keep. So anyway, so she got a hold of somebody in the liquor commission who she wanted to put me in touch with because, you know, I mean, there's clear laws about drinking on the job and the way that this guy acted, and she wants to come down on him. So actually, earlier when I was putting these pictures up, I was on the phone with her and she's like, did you ever call that lady back? There's somebody assigned to the case now. And so I called her back and I left a voicemail. And that's why I was printing up the police report. [00:07:02] Speaker C: Wow. When did this happen? I don't know. [00:07:04] Speaker B: May 17, 2026. [00:07:07] Speaker C: It didn't come up on the show around that time. [00:07:09] Speaker B: No, I didn't really talk too much about it. [00:07:11] Speaker C: Yeah. It's a dark chapter in your life. [00:07:19] Speaker B: Yeah. I wouldn't call it a whole chapter. [00:07:22] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:07:22] Speaker B: This is more of a paragraph. [00:07:23] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:07:24] Speaker A: I thought of something I might have, something funny the other day. Do you ever call it. Do they ever get called the Buffalo Balls? [00:07:30] Speaker B: No. [00:07:32] Speaker A: Yeah. I was thinking of making a T shirt. [00:07:35] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:07:36] Speaker C: Why? I don't get it. [00:07:38] Speaker A: The Buffalo Bills or whatever they call it. [00:07:42] Speaker C: It's a. [00:07:42] Speaker A: What? It'd just be a funny thing, wouldn't it? [00:07:45] Speaker C: Buffalo Bulls. [00:07:46] Speaker A: Yeah. Instead of the Buffalo Bills. [00:07:51] Speaker C: That's funny. [00:07:51] Speaker B: Are you gonna cut. Are you gonna cut my whole story about the bar? [00:07:54] Speaker A: No, I didn't even cut stories. I said I was gonna. [00:07:58] Speaker B: You cut my gout thing out. I noticed that. [00:08:00] Speaker A: No, I didn't. [00:08:01] Speaker C: I did. [00:08:02] Speaker B: Yeah. It was gout. You didn't. [00:08:05] Speaker A: That went on Gout story. [00:08:06] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. [00:08:07] Speaker A: Ten minutes of that. There's no way I cut that out [00:08:10] Speaker B: because I thought I ended it by saying that's when I stopped bartending. And that's when you said, oh, speaking of which, I have this bartending. This Scottish guy. [00:08:18] Speaker A: Nah, that was like a ten minute bit. [00:08:21] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. I was waiting for it. [00:08:23] Speaker A: Unless you didn't hit record. I. I have never cut more than. [00:08:28] Speaker B: Maybe it's in a different episode. [00:08:30] Speaker A: 40 seconds off. Off of an app at the front. [00:08:34] Speaker C: Can't you just bleep stuff out like that? Like. [00:08:39] Speaker A: No, I mean, I only cut stuff out. That's meaningless. [00:08:42] Speaker C: Oh. Or unless somebody requests an edit, even. [00:08:47] Speaker A: I've said before, I'M gonna cut that bit out and I can't be asked. [00:08:51] Speaker C: You can't be. You can't be bothered with it. [00:08:53] Speaker B: Maybe it was in there. Maybe it's in a different episode. [00:08:55] Speaker A: Well, yeah, if you look in the episode thing, I put gout. Yes. Gout. Right. [00:09:03] Speaker B: Sure. [00:09:04] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:09:05] Speaker B: I don't know. [00:09:06] Speaker A: Text. [00:09:07] Speaker C: Yeah, I don't know. I didn't get to that one. Yeah, Yeah, I did listen this weekend, [00:09:12] Speaker B: which one did you listen to? [00:09:13] Speaker C: I listened to the one where the guy told me that we should change the show and then that I step on everybody's jokes and stuff and that I. And then I was just quiet for that. [00:09:23] Speaker B: Who were very quiet for that. [00:09:25] Speaker A: I thought you threw your toys out of the pram initially. [00:09:27] Speaker C: Did I threw him out of the pram Again, you were upset, but I noticed that and I'm going to test it today. I'm going to listen to this episode. When it comes out, my mic is not. Does not sound as good as your mics. [00:09:41] Speaker B: You know, you can't hear. You got it there. You got it. Because you don't direct. [00:09:44] Speaker A: No. Yeah. Your mic technique is shit. [00:09:47] Speaker C: What am I doing here? [00:09:48] Speaker B: You got to make it higher and make it point directionally towards your mouth. [00:09:52] Speaker C: Like this. [00:09:54] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:09:54] Speaker B: Yeah. But it looks like you're uncomfortable doing it that way. You got a position it so that it's just naturally like. Look at mine. See how it's just like. [00:10:00] Speaker C: You have a big, big arm. [00:10:02] Speaker B: Yeah, but you can do that with that. You can. [00:10:05] Speaker A: Infinite position. [00:10:07] Speaker C: Infinite work on this here. [00:10:08] Speaker B: It's like Buzz Lightyear. [00:10:10] Speaker C: See, this isn't good. This is some kind of bullshit over here. This. [00:10:12] Speaker B: Well, don't do it like that. [00:10:13] Speaker A: That's an amateur. Hang on. [00:10:15] Speaker C: How about if I raise it up? [00:10:17] Speaker B: What if you lower your. [00:10:18] Speaker C: Coming over here. He's doing stuff. I didn't know it could do that. [00:10:24] Speaker B: Look at that. Oh, yeah. [00:10:25] Speaker C: I'm always like. Like leaning down. [00:10:27] Speaker B: And your burps are gonna sound so much better now. [00:10:30] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:10:30] Speaker A: It's just a simple mechanical thing now. [00:10:33] Speaker C: I just. Just be natural. Sit. Sit upright and natural like this. [00:10:37] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:10:38] Speaker C: And talk. Yeah. Maybe it's just me, the way I'm talking into it. Thank you. I feel like I'm. I'm gobbling knob, though. [00:10:45] Speaker A: I was gonna say you look uncomfortable. You look like you're back at some. [00:10:49] Speaker C: Right in my knob. Right in my gob. [00:10:51] Speaker A: Back in the church choir. [00:10:53] Speaker C: I got a knob in my gob. [00:10:54] Speaker B: You are staring right at it. [00:10:57] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:10:57] Speaker A: It's a little disconcerting, is this what Jesus wants, Father. [00:11:02] Speaker C: Hey, speaking of Jesus, is this part [00:11:05] Speaker A: of Sunday Mass, Father? [00:11:07] Speaker B: This is a lot of stops. [00:11:09] Speaker C: Did you guys get out to see Ken Russell's the Devils yet? [00:11:14] Speaker B: What's that? [00:11:15] Speaker C: What? I thought Lawler was getting you to go see it. [00:11:19] Speaker A: And then he. I mean, I haven't heard from Lola in a couple of weeks. Weeks? [00:11:22] Speaker C: Really? [00:11:22] Speaker A: Yeah. I don't know why the Devils is such a thing. It was wanking on about it on the BBC website. It's like it's such a thing. [00:11:32] Speaker C: What, the movie? [00:11:34] Speaker A: Yeah. I remember there was an anecdote from Ollie Reed where he. [00:11:38] Speaker C: He was amazing. [00:11:39] Speaker A: He was always worried about his is dick being perceived as small. So he said they showed it. He said to Ken Russell, before we do the nude wrestling scene, can I nip in the. Nip in? Nip in the trailer and just fluff it up a little bit myself so no one thinks I'm. [00:11:56] Speaker B: They always do that, don't they? I thought that was common. They always give themselves a little fluff. [00:12:04] Speaker C: I made note of it. I made note of it. [00:12:06] Speaker A: There's also in the nude with Alan Bates, right. [00:12:09] Speaker C: He does, he does wrestle in the nude. It was like the scene in Eastern Promises where they're in the Russian bathhouse fighting and guys penises and testicles are flapping around everywhere. That was remarkable. But the. Oliver Reed was incredible. What an incredible actor. I've only seen him in a couple things. Unbelievable actors. [00:12:34] Speaker A: Well, if you want a menacing thing, he's your boy. [00:12:38] Speaker C: What's another good Oliver Reed? [00:12:41] Speaker A: He's in like a bunch of menacing Lola. Actually, have you got Blu ray? Yeah, I'll give you a Ollie Reed film. Lola just gave it to me. But it's Blu ray so I can't do anything with it. [00:12:53] Speaker C: You don't have Blu Ray yet, but now you have to have 4k. 4k? [00:12:57] Speaker B: I've never heard of this. [00:12:58] Speaker C: You have. You don't have hard media like this? [00:13:00] Speaker B: No. [00:13:00] Speaker C: You have record player though? [00:13:01] Speaker B: Yep. [00:13:02] Speaker C: That's as hard as your media gets. My media gets a lot harder than that. [00:13:08] Speaker B: You don't need a fluffer then, do you? [00:13:09] Speaker C: I got CDs, DVDs, cassettes, VHS mini disc, flash drive. Flash drive. Jump drive. [00:13:20] Speaker B: Jump drive? [00:13:21] Speaker C: Yep. [00:13:22] Speaker B: What's that? [00:13:23] Speaker C: Yep, it's like a flash drive, but some people got it a jump drive and I call it a flash drive. That's just. That's just like Sling Blade some people call the guys or Blade, but I call it. I saw another penis in film this weekend. I took in The. The Red Hot documentary. The film everyone's talking about right now. Of course I'm talking about. I can see everything. Directed by Nathan Fiedler and Lance Oppenheim. A documentary about Elizabeth Holmes and her husband Billy Evans. Elizabeth Holmes, of course, being the one who was tried and convicted of fraud for her Theranos company that defrauded many investors. You got to see this. They show her husband in the shower, just taking a shower, alone, fully naked. And the camera holds the shot for 5, 6, 7 seconds where you see this man's penis in. In full view. [00:14:33] Speaker B: Was it fluffed up a little bit? [00:14:36] Speaker C: How do I know? You know, not having seen it in other states, you can tell the fluff. It was bigger than mine. [00:14:43] Speaker B: That means it was fluffed. I guarantee it was fluffed. He said, if you have the option to fluff. Why wouldn't you fluff? [00:14:49] Speaker C: Oh, I would. [00:14:50] Speaker B: 100%. Anybody would. [00:14:52] Speaker C: I would. Here's how I fluff. If I really need to put on a show, right? A limp show, like it really matters. I will take a half hour bath in really warm water. And when I get out, I am hanging to the ground. [00:15:09] Speaker A: Wait, that should make you go the other way. [00:15:11] Speaker C: No, no, warm water, hot water. A hot water bath if you need to. You need to show up. [00:15:18] Speaker B: Half an hour, though, turn up with [00:15:20] Speaker A: half a tea cake. [00:15:21] Speaker C: Well, maybe it doesn't take as long. What's the tea cake? [00:15:23] Speaker A: Half a tea cake means you got a semi on. [00:15:26] Speaker C: Oh, no. It's completely flaccid, but long like a horse. [00:15:30] Speaker A: I love this chat preceding the thing that we're gonna. The special we're gonna talk about. [00:15:37] Speaker C: Oh, my God. [00:15:38] Speaker A: Incredibly appropriate. [00:15:39] Speaker C: Oh, my God. Like I was jumping out of my chair watching this and like, I've never wanted to get in here and talk about something as much as I wanted to talk about this special. Did you feel that way about Nina Dicker's tangerine vagina? [00:15:53] Speaker B: I wouldn't say. I couldn't wait to get here to talk about it. [00:15:57] Speaker A: I got some thoughts. [00:15:58] Speaker C: You got some thoughts? [00:16:00] Speaker A: I got a hidden agenda item. [00:16:02] Speaker C: Okay. Oh, I think I know. Well, we'll see. But I was completely blown away. Completely. Were you blown away? [00:16:11] Speaker B: No. [00:16:12] Speaker A: Are we already into it? [00:16:13] Speaker C: No, we're not into it, but you brought it up. So we're previewing, we're giving. It's called a teaser in the business. We're teasing the audience. [00:16:19] Speaker A: I'm not one to tease. [00:16:21] Speaker C: Oh, okay. [00:16:22] Speaker A: How long are you going to talk about it when we talk about it? [00:16:26] Speaker B: I have some Things I wanted to talk about. And just like always, I can't remember what any of them are now. [00:16:30] Speaker C: I know, but you got to write them down. [00:16:31] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. I thought about that earlier. You got to write them down. I just never did. [00:16:35] Speaker C: Do you carry a notebook in your pocket? [00:16:37] Speaker B: No. I know, but I. I do always have this pen. [00:16:39] Speaker A: Everyone carries a notebook in their pocket. [00:16:42] Speaker C: I don't write anything down on the phone. It doesn't. [00:16:44] Speaker B: I always carry a pilot G2 1 millimeter pen. And I was. My hand. My palm will serve as a notebook if it's really needed. [00:16:53] Speaker C: Would you. If I brought you some, would you put these in your pocket if it. [00:16:56] Speaker B: Well, not for the purposes. I already. I already know that I wouldn't because I have stuff like that at home. And I just. I also hate the feeling of anything in my pocket. So I won't carry something that large. [00:17:08] Speaker A: I know the bloke that designs for field notes. [00:17:11] Speaker C: You do? [00:17:11] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:17:12] Speaker C: What's his name? [00:17:13] Speaker A: Well, one of them. Brian Bedell, because he designed the Lincoln Lodge logo. [00:17:18] Speaker C: Really? [00:17:19] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:17:20] Speaker C: Oh, well, I'd like to know more about that. [00:17:21] Speaker A: And I know the guy who does all of their advertising stuff. It's an interesting thing. [00:17:29] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm a. I'm a huge fan of the company. Long time subscriber and love everything they do over there. You've been to the headquarters here? [00:17:36] Speaker A: Nah, it's cool. I don't use them. What do you use? [00:17:40] Speaker C: Can I give you some? [00:17:41] Speaker A: No, because I have, I. I get. I've carry. I find vintage ones and I use them. [00:17:46] Speaker C: At the thrift? [00:17:48] Speaker A: No, just in the trash and the flea. Yeah. [00:17:50] Speaker B: You know when I do carry them, those little notebooks I found the last couple times I went out of the country, I'll carry one of those little notebooks around and every restaurant, everything, like, I'll jot down, like little things that we've done all day, you know, and then when I get back, I can. Because it's so easy to say, like, yeah, I had a really good time. Well, what'd you do? [00:18:08] Speaker A: Yeah, you know, Heather does that with postcards. [00:18:12] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:18:12] Speaker A: She goes to the city, she buys a couple of postcards of the city, then scribbles on the back. And she's like an incessant, you know, what do you call them? Scrapbooker. [00:18:21] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:18:22] Speaker A: And so she's got stuff from 40 years ago where it's like, yeah, I went to Zurich and it's all written on the back of a Zurich. [00:18:29] Speaker B: And she sends it to herself, like, what she did? [00:18:31] Speaker A: No, no, she takes it home. But now she's got the. The city. [00:18:34] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:18:34] Speaker A: A picture of the city with the notes of it. [00:18:37] Speaker C: Oh, that's smart. I. I'm a big postcarder as well, but I send them to people. [00:18:43] Speaker B: Yeah. I always think about. I do the postcards all the time. [00:18:45] Speaker C: Do. [00:18:46] Speaker B: Yep. [00:18:46] Speaker C: They still. They still. I haven't been able to find them lately. I'm wondering if they didn't. [00:18:51] Speaker B: We had gotten some in San Francisco. Mark, did he get yours in the mail? [00:18:54] Speaker A: Yeah, I can't. [00:18:55] Speaker C: You sent him one. [00:18:56] Speaker B: I didn't. Porky did. [00:18:57] Speaker A: Yeah, I keep forgetting to bring it in and put it on the office board. [00:19:00] Speaker B: Yeah, we bought those in Chinatown. Didn't she? It was the Americana one, right? Yeah, it was a good one. We found all these scantily clad people. You know [00:19:12] Speaker C: that dirty lighter you gave? [00:19:14] Speaker B: Exactly. Yeah. Same Chinatown. Yeah. [00:19:16] Speaker C: That's where you got that. [00:19:17] Speaker B: Yep. [00:19:17] Speaker C: Very nice. [00:19:18] Speaker A: I have a friend, Becky Garcia, I always send. [00:19:21] Speaker C: Oh, sure. [00:19:21] Speaker A: Cards to. [00:19:22] Speaker C: Sure. You saw. You send her postcards? [00:19:25] Speaker A: I send filthy postcards. If you find something filthy where I go. So, like, in India, I found one with a dude with his dick out. Like, if it wasn't, like, lurid. It was a religious thing. But I thought, she's gonna love that. [00:19:39] Speaker C: A religious thing with the guy's dick out? [00:19:41] Speaker A: Yeah, he was like a shaman or something from this town that we were. [00:19:45] Speaker B: Oh, he had no shaman. [00:19:47] Speaker A: It was actually from a place called Varanasi, where it's like a very spiritual. [00:19:53] Speaker C: Very nice. [00:19:54] Speaker A: And then I just put. Yeah, I put. I put. Very nasty. And then sent it to her. [00:19:59] Speaker C: Hey, how does your Mrs. Feel about you sending lurid correspondence to another missus? [00:20:07] Speaker A: Actually, I explained it all. It's all perfectly innocent. So one time, I sent a filthy postcard to Josh Cheney and Kyle Kinane, and it was like a couple in a. In a swing. [00:20:21] Speaker C: Sent them each the separate postcard. [00:20:23] Speaker A: No, no, there's one postcard. It was a couple at it, clearly. Both Billy Bollocks in a swimming pool. [00:20:30] Speaker C: But how'd you send it to them both? They live in different. [00:20:33] Speaker A: Because they lived in the same apartment. [00:20:34] Speaker C: Oh, when they were here? [00:20:35] Speaker A: No, in la. [00:20:36] Speaker C: Oh, they did. [00:20:37] Speaker A: So the postcard, I got it in England. It said, hollywood, here I come. And it's a couple shaggy. [00:20:42] Speaker B: I was calm spelled in a swimming. [00:20:44] Speaker A: Just C O, M. It was an English card. And I just sent it to them because it made me laugh, because they were living in Hollywood. So Becky Garcia says, if you're sending filthy postcards, I want one. [00:20:57] Speaker C: Okay. So there's the genesis of it. [00:20:59] Speaker A: Yeah. So wherever I would go, I would find something racy slash filthy. [00:21:05] Speaker C: Was Becky Garcia with Josh Cheney at the time? I know that there were a couple. Yes. They're. Are they together still? [00:21:10] Speaker A: No. [00:21:11] Speaker C: Okay. You know Adam Croesus? Are you familiar with Adam? [00:21:14] Speaker A: I've never heard of him. [00:21:15] Speaker C: You've heard of him. We got to get him in here for Christian. The name of his fantasy football team is now this season. Becky Garcia gave me no vibe. I guess he was trying to make time with her, and she was not reciprocal. [00:21:34] Speaker A: I don't think Becky's gonna fall for that. [00:21:36] Speaker C: No, she's not going for. For crushes. I noticed I say a lot of. [00:21:44] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, do you? [00:21:45] Speaker C: When I listen to the show. So you don't listen to any of our shows, Mark? No, I listen. Pretty man does. [00:21:50] Speaker B: Yeah, I do. [00:21:51] Speaker A: So awful. [00:21:52] Speaker C: I don't think so. That. That. That episode I listened to was painful because of, you know, all that came up, but because your feelings were hurt. Yeah, my feelings were hurt by the [00:22:04] Speaker B: pouting drunk guy at a party, though. You can't listen to drunk people at parties. They don't know what they're talking about. [00:22:08] Speaker C: You know, the couple. Oh, by the way, I've got hummus seems to be leaking out of the bag. Hummus and pita for us. [00:22:14] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:22:15] Speaker C: So please dive in. You like hummus? It's okay for you. [00:22:18] Speaker B: Would you like some leaky hummus? [00:22:19] Speaker A: Banana. [00:22:20] Speaker C: Yeah. Why did you have to take the banana out of here to eat? [00:22:23] Speaker A: It smells banana. [00:22:24] Speaker B: Yeah, it smells banana. [00:22:25] Speaker C: That's not very pungent. [00:22:26] Speaker B: I've been on a really good work dinner streak here with. With microwaving broccoli and turkey that smells. I was bartending last. What Saturday. I caught. I caught guff from every single person that walked into that AV room. [00:22:43] Speaker A: I must have sprayed Febreze about four times. [00:22:48] Speaker B: Well, the broccoli. [00:22:49] Speaker A: Go away. [00:22:50] Speaker C: Broccoli is pungent. [00:22:51] Speaker B: Yeah. And it was raw broccoli, too. It wasn't cooked. [00:22:54] Speaker C: Get into. When you microwave sultans. Get that. Get that going there. [00:22:57] Speaker B: Oh, you got stuff from sultans. [00:22:58] Speaker C: Yeah, sultans. [00:22:59] Speaker B: That's the best hummus. [00:23:01] Speaker C: How do they say it in England? [00:23:02] Speaker A: Insultings. [00:23:04] Speaker C: How do they say hummus in England? [00:23:06] Speaker A: Hummus. [00:23:07] Speaker C: I thought they say hummus. [00:23:09] Speaker B: That was for the. [00:23:10] Speaker A: They might drop the H and say ommus if you're from the north. Yeah. [00:23:14] Speaker C: That's good stuff there. I'm gonna. I want to watch you eat this. [00:23:16] Speaker A: You got raspberry on there. [00:23:17] Speaker C: No, no, that's. [00:23:18] Speaker B: There's a lot of hummus. [00:23:20] Speaker C: Dip it right in there, then get it over to the sea, man. [00:23:24] Speaker A: Am I gonna what when we sprint into the bog? [00:23:29] Speaker C: Maybe, but not because of that hummus. [00:23:31] Speaker B: Yeah. Could just be your own preference. [00:23:33] Speaker C: It's good, isn't it? It's good, PETA. That's the problem. [00:23:37] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:23:38] Speaker A: I'm not dipping the bite, I'm dipping the fresh. [00:23:41] Speaker C: Yeah, he's re dipping the fresh end. The bell end, not the well end. [00:23:47] Speaker B: No. Well, it is the well end. [00:23:49] Speaker C: The well end. [00:23:50] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:23:51] Speaker C: You get a new stuff that's some [00:23:54] Speaker B: kind of chopped up peppers. [00:23:55] Speaker C: No, it's like a spice. It's like a beetroot. It's like a paprika probably or something. Get in there, C Man. Come on. [00:24:03] Speaker B: Yeah, okay. [00:24:03] Speaker C: Yeah, get up in here. Do you ever wish you could sit over where C man sits? Oh, yeah. [00:24:08] Speaker B: Do you want to switch seats someday? [00:24:09] Speaker C: Yeah, I would like to do that. I don't know why things over there, [00:24:12] Speaker B: but you don't really do anything. I'm always pretending. [00:24:15] Speaker C: Do you like your seat, mark where you sit? I don't think I like my seat. I didn't like it over here, but I don't. [00:24:22] Speaker B: Oh, that's not chopped up peppers. [00:24:25] Speaker C: It's a spice. [00:24:27] Speaker B: It's not chopped up. [00:24:28] Speaker C: I didn't. Who said it was? Nobody. [00:24:29] Speaker B: I did. [00:24:30] Speaker C: There's some tahini here as well. Okay, you eat that and I'll carry on with the program while you guys are stuffing your gobs. [00:24:38] Speaker B: Was this your whole tactic here? Get us eating then. Now you're gonna. [00:24:42] Speaker C: Now I can talk. [00:24:42] Speaker B: You're gonna talk about what? [00:24:43] Speaker C: You. Really? So I can talk? Well, I was down in the Ozarks. [00:24:51] Speaker B: Oh, yeah? [00:24:51] Speaker C: How was weekend? Excellent. That's where my heart is. [00:24:54] Speaker B: What were you doing? [00:24:55] Speaker A: Money. [00:24:57] Speaker B: Like that show the Ozarks. [00:24:59] Speaker C: Yeah, no, this is been. I go down there a lot. A lot. Occasionally. I love the Ozarks. I just. It's something about it. It's, you know. Do you have a place? Do you have. You guys have places where you go where you're just like. [00:25:12] Speaker B: This is Milwaukee. [00:25:13] Speaker C: Is it really? You're being facetious. No, because Milwaukee is a shitpet now. [00:25:17] Speaker B: I love it. [00:25:17] Speaker C: Okay. [00:25:19] Speaker A: Lola loves Milwaukee. [00:25:21] Speaker C: He does. It's like not your spirit animal, but you're like spirit place. [00:25:26] Speaker B: Yep. [00:25:26] Speaker A: I like Hermosa Beach, California. [00:25:29] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:25:29] Speaker B: Yeah. That's a good one too, because that [00:25:31] Speaker A: was when I was living the life. [00:25:34] Speaker C: So. Reminds you of that? [00:25:35] Speaker A: Reminds me of when I was. [00:25:36] Speaker C: Of the walk you were Jack the Lad. [00:25:39] Speaker A: Yeah, it's just. It's been downhill. [00:25:43] Speaker C: It's a little too bougie for me. Hermosa beach, isn't it? You're not a bougie guy. [00:25:49] Speaker A: Talking about what I could tell. Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Bougie is it. It definitely is it. Boogie don't walk boogie. [00:26:00] Speaker C: So I was down there, I went and picked up my son and at college, and I was surprised I picked him up and I. And I went to see him and. [00:26:09] Speaker A: Wait, wait, wait. [00:26:10] Speaker C: Roommates. [00:26:10] Speaker A: Wait, wait. So you like it there because that's where you went to college? [00:26:15] Speaker C: I didn't go to college in the Ozarks, but I went to college of Missouri. Then we went to the Ozarks. [00:26:19] Speaker A: So it's another thing you were of the walk. It was prime time. [00:26:24] Speaker C: Oh, maybe. I don't know. It's kind of down and out. I. When I think back on it, you know, I was never cock of the walk. It's never happened for me. [00:26:34] Speaker A: You know, when you were king of the open mic scene. [00:26:38] Speaker C: Well, there was a time maybe when that was true, but you think, I'll [00:26:42] Speaker B: go on stage tonight after this, you [00:26:45] Speaker C: know, after seeing those. All those blokes lined up last week like a communist lineup for toilet paper or something. That really took a chunk out of me to see those sad sacks wind up at the bar, not to sign up. I can't believe this. I understand this, but I can't believe all those sad sacks were lined up and they had to buy one item before they went into the. Before they signed up. [00:27:11] Speaker A: That's me. Because I told them I'm not dicking or. [00:27:14] Speaker C: I get it. Yeah, I get it. It's just a sad, sad sight. [00:27:18] Speaker B: Yeah, it is kind of weird at first. It's like. It's very. Like a Soup Nazi sort of thing. You know, you order your thing and then step to the left. [00:27:26] Speaker A: It's the youth of today. When we. When we were open miking, you and I. Yes, minimum. Minimum. We bought three. [00:27:34] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Well, that's the thing. We had to do it because when I was bartending, when I used to bartender the open mic nights, there'd be 30 people here and they'd all want a glass of water. [00:27:42] Speaker A: Yeah. F on. F on. [00:27:45] Speaker B: We were open for two hours for no reason. [00:27:47] Speaker A: If you wanna. If you want to be supported by clubs, you fucking support, right? [00:27:53] Speaker B: You gotta give back. [00:27:54] Speaker C: I don't disagree. [00:27:55] Speaker A: The fact that we have to hold a gun to their head, it fills me with rage and hate. [00:28:02] Speaker C: Yeah. But here's the difference? I see it as I see it, no difference. [00:28:06] Speaker A: But give me it anyway. [00:28:07] Speaker B: Sure. [00:28:08] Speaker C: When we were open micrs and I assume there's this model still exists outside of the Lincoln Lodge, we were going to a bar, right. And the bar was benefiting from all of. And granted not guys didn't spend a lot of money. Open micros don't for the most part have a lot of money. But we go to the bar and I on a Tuesday night and the bar would have been dead otherwise and Instead they got 15, 20 comics and maybe a smattering of their friends in there and that's how we were supporting the bar. This model you've got here, the four in the afternoon open mic. There is a bar here but it's not a bar, it's a comedy club. These people are just coming in here to do their couple minutes and leave. Whereas the bar was like. We hung out at the bar, we drank, it was a thing. Right. Do these blokes, do they hang out in this bar? No, it seems like they just go and they sign up and they leave. [00:29:00] Speaker B: They leave? [00:29:01] Speaker A: Yeah, they get, they. It's all, it's all taking in, no giving. It's like, yeah, put my backpack on and piss off to the next open mic. [00:29:08] Speaker C: Yeah, bollocks to that. Yeah. That's maybe why like Zany's didn't have open mics. [00:29:14] Speaker A: No, I know, I always. [00:29:15] Speaker C: Comedy clubs didn't have open mics. Yeah. [00:29:17] Speaker A: I always understood why comedy clubs didn't have open mics. They're just a waste of time and money. Yeah, bars had them but you had to support the bar. You had to support Jim Marr's Monkey bar. [00:29:31] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:29:31] Speaker A: To have an open mic there every week. [00:29:33] Speaker C: Yeah. And Jim Ma would grouse about the, you know, the Croatias of the world, just get a water and sit there and all night. But you know, that's the other thing about this model is like nobody seemed. Well maybe they are but nobody's bringing anybody at four in the afternoon on a Tuesday to watch them perform. It's not a night out in a bar at 9 o' clock when you're getting oiled up and you know you can go and laugh and see some people bomb and shit. [00:29:57] Speaker A: But we, we were lucky to have one open mic a night. Right. These buggers, they're bouncing from open mic to open mic. [00:30:05] Speaker C: Well there's a lot more now. [00:30:06] Speaker A: Oh Jesus Christ. Some of them are doing like three open mics a night. [00:30:10] Speaker C: Good on that, that model. [00:30:13] Speaker A: F that model, it don't work. [00:30:16] Speaker C: I don't begrudge, you know, more stage time. I don't think you would either. That's, that's key. As you just said a couple weeks ago. [00:30:23] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:30:23] Speaker C: Like when we're talking about Hannibal, key is you got to get up and get up, get up so good for them to be able to get up more places. I just think here you need to make. If you're gonna have it, have it at night and have like a drink special and fill this place with people that will come see these bums and give them five minutes and, and have a, have a comedian up there bringing them up and goofing on them. Make it a true open mic. In the spirit of our open mics, [00:30:53] Speaker B: we do that sometimes. There's a 7:30 or 8:00 clock that we'll throw in every once in a while. Yeah. And there's ones that you're saying at four, they're at six o'. Clock. [00:31:03] Speaker C: The other difference too is that the bar is separate from the room. You know, like that makes it hard when you're at the bar and you're drinking and then you're just half paying attention. The comedians up there bombing. That's a better vibe. Right? This is, I don't know, like if the bars out there and then you can't, you don't want to get up and leave. [00:31:20] Speaker A: So. [00:31:20] Speaker C: You know what I mean? [00:31:21] Speaker A: What Bill o', Donnell, king of the Chicago open mike scene is saying is it really is pointless the Lincoln Lodge doing an open mic and we should get rid of it. [00:31:30] Speaker C: That's you saying that. [00:31:31] Speaker A: No, no, you're saying it. I'm embracing it. [00:31:34] Speaker C: I'm saying this version of the open mic where these, these guys line up like that and to buy a drink, which I understand they need to support, is. And then sit in that room with that guy sitting at the board and they just come up one after the other and do three minutes and then leave. That ain't working. That's sad. [00:31:52] Speaker A: So get rid of it. [00:31:54] Speaker C: No, change it. Here's my idea and if you'll have me, I'll do it. [00:32:00] Speaker A: The bar manager is here. [00:32:02] Speaker C: I know, I'm glad he's here. He's already doesn't like it. I can see the look on his face. Look at. [00:32:05] Speaker B: No, I just can't wait to see [00:32:07] Speaker C: what genius idea you have just voided. We, we pull one of your old Geary's old mini stages out into the bar right in that window with people walking by, and you set up the open Mic in the bar, right? So that the comedians are all in there and gathered around and at the bar and the mic is out there and it's. It's on a. Your deadest night, Monday night, like the Three Ring Circus or I don't know what other dead nights there are. And you have it right there in [00:32:41] Speaker B: the bar and so that I'll host it that way. People that want to come to regular shows don't want to come to regular shows anymore. Otherwise they have to listen to open micrs out in the lobby. [00:32:49] Speaker C: No, they can go to a regular show or they can come in. Well, I don't know if that works. Because they still want to go to the bar. No, because. Or they can come into the bar like, it's like a restaurant. You can go sit in the dining room and have a nice dinner or you can come sit at the bar and watch these clowns fall in their face. And you let me host it. [00:33:12] Speaker B: If you want to host it, I'll do it. [00:33:14] Speaker C: I will host it and I will. I will cut these people up. I mean, I'll cut up in between these people and I'll cut them up. I'll do time in between, but quickly. [00:33:25] Speaker A: Why would we put a stage right [00:33:27] Speaker B: there by the window? I thought about doing that for like daytime shows. [00:33:30] Speaker C: And then people walk by and they're like, look at this fucking guy's on stage. We got to go in there and see what this fucking show is about. Right? Like this guy, you know, like he. That's what you want. Just like Jim Miles, Monkey Bar. [00:33:39] Speaker A: Would you put a backdrop so people aren't waving their dicks through the window and stuff? [00:33:44] Speaker C: I don't know. I liked it. Monkey Bar. How like when you're bombing, you just turn around, you just watch somebody walk by on the sidewalk and be like, [00:33:51] Speaker A: no, because it was. It wasn't an open window. [00:33:53] Speaker C: It was too. [00:33:54] Speaker A: There was a window, but it started three feet, four feet up. [00:33:58] Speaker C: You could see people. [00:34:00] Speaker A: You could see. Yeah, the tops of them. Anyway, I'll leave it with the bar manager to sort out with the venue. [00:34:07] Speaker B: Hundred percent. It's a go. [00:34:08] Speaker C: It's a go. [00:34:09] Speaker B: Yeah, we'll do it next week. [00:34:10] Speaker C: Really. And all those guys are just like, yeah, we're gonna be right, we're gonna be in here now. [00:34:14] Speaker B: Yeah, we'll do it Tuesday. [00:34:17] Speaker C: But it can't be at 4 in the afternoon gaff. Can it be at night? Like where people are getting oiled up? [00:34:22] Speaker B: No, it's gotta be four. [00:34:24] Speaker A: It can't be while Real people are in the building. [00:34:26] Speaker B: The golden hour. [00:34:27] Speaker C: Oh, okay. Well, okay. [00:34:31] Speaker A: Cause let's say what do you do on a Tuesday, right? We have the Open mic till 6 o'. [00:34:36] Speaker B: Clock. Open mic until it's like 7, 7:30 ish. [00:34:39] Speaker A: But then when's the first Brew Room show? 7:30 or 7, 7:30. My only concern would be an open mic in the bar and people coming in for a real show thinking, that's what I'm saying. This is what this venue is about. [00:34:57] Speaker B: But if Bill's hosting it, it's gonn that they want to stick around. [00:35:01] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:35:04] Speaker B: That changes everything. Having Bill o' Donnell host the open mic is. [00:35:07] Speaker A: I, I mean, like I say, bar manager is here. Bar manager can sort it out with the venue manager, and I'm out. I, I don't even make. I'm not even involved in those decisions. [00:35:16] Speaker C: What about that lad that sits in there and just sits at the thing and says next Comedian John Burton. [00:35:22] Speaker B: Oh, John Burton's good. [00:35:23] Speaker A: He, he, he only wants to be there. He doesn't, he doesn't want to be there. [00:35:27] Speaker B: Oh, he's here for 25. [00:35:28] Speaker C: You'll be happy to. [00:35:29] Speaker A: He's getting paid 25 to watch Shite every week. [00:35:33] Speaker C: He doesn't seem like he enjoys it. [00:35:35] Speaker A: Would you? [00:35:36] Speaker C: I would, yeah. [00:35:38] Speaker B: He's too focused on his Bob Seeger cover band. [00:35:40] Speaker A: Yeah, you. You ain't even got the ball to go to the open mic, let alone host it. [00:35:45] Speaker C: No, I'll host it. [00:35:47] Speaker A: All right, well, can we draw a line? [00:35:49] Speaker C: Huge. This makes my life. Oh, I almost spilled my. [00:35:52] Speaker A: You two draw the contract up. [00:35:54] Speaker B: All right. [00:35:54] Speaker C: But you got to help with the production of it. [00:35:56] Speaker A: No, I'm not. [00:35:57] Speaker C: Wait a minute. Touch on the room and everything. You got to be consulted on the whole room setup. [00:36:02] Speaker B: Bob Seeger is still going to do his. But you're going to do a competing open mic out in the lobby. [00:36:06] Speaker C: Oh, he is. Well, listen, they can go in that one and then bounce to the next [00:36:10] Speaker B: one and then we'll see who. You could have three rooms contest. [00:36:12] Speaker C: You could have a bunch of rooms going. [00:36:14] Speaker B: Yep. [00:36:15] Speaker C: But you got to get people. [00:36:17] Speaker A: I'll help with the tech. I'll help run a mic line and all that bollock. [00:36:22] Speaker B: And you gotta have a, have that out there already. [00:36:25] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, there is a mic mine run into the front of the. Yeah, we were gonna use it for man on the street, but you could just run it. [00:36:31] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:36:32] Speaker A: And it go into the red room. The, the tricky bit is going to be running it to that. I Would put it through the amplifier we use for a crowd. Announcements. [00:36:42] Speaker B: I was just gonna use a Bluetooth speaker, wireless mic. [00:36:46] Speaker A: We can. I mean, we can piss it, obviously. [00:36:49] Speaker C: And then before I bring each comedian up, they'll have to show me that they. Their ticket, that they. They spent some money in here. Or I'll shame them and tell them to get out here. [00:36:57] Speaker B: I'll stamp their hand when they buy something. [00:36:58] Speaker C: You'll stamp them? [00:36:59] Speaker A: The. [00:37:00] Speaker C: The stage would go right in that corner, right next to the bar where the door is, but right back there where the. You hang the merch. [00:37:07] Speaker B: Mm. [00:37:08] Speaker C: Fucking great. Are you guys serious? We gonna do this? [00:37:10] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:37:11] Speaker C: We'll do it on Tuesdays after the show. [00:37:13] Speaker B: Every Tuesday after the show. [00:37:16] Speaker C: It's gonna be great. But you gotta go up. [00:37:19] Speaker A: You keep dragging, trying to drag me. I've got to do this, I gotta do that. I need no part of it. [00:37:24] Speaker C: Oh, my God, it's gonna be so great. I can't wait. [00:37:26] Speaker A: And good luck finding a bartender. [00:37:29] Speaker C: Oh, you're not gonna bartend? No, you're gonna do it with me. [00:37:31] Speaker B: I thought you were gonna bartend. [00:37:32] Speaker A: You. [00:37:33] Speaker C: You. You and I could be like a team. [00:37:35] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:37:36] Speaker C: Could you do stuff behind the bar? Like a Paul Schaefer kind of thing? [00:37:39] Speaker B: Do some flares. [00:37:40] Speaker C: You can make it like cocktail. [00:37:41] Speaker B: I could throw bottles around. [00:37:42] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm gonna play off you all night. [00:37:44] Speaker B: I'm really good at. I'm good at throwing the bottles. I'm not great at catching. [00:37:47] Speaker A: He's Brian Brown. [00:37:48] Speaker C: Yeah. No, I'm Tom Cruise. He's Brian Brown. He's got. [00:37:51] Speaker B: Somebody gets punched. [00:37:52] Speaker C: He's Ginger. He's Brian Brown. I'm Tom Cruise. [00:37:56] Speaker A: Who is the love interest in that? Mimi? [00:37:58] Speaker C: Elizabeth Shoe. Elizabeth Shoe, I believe. Yeah, yeah, I think so. Elizabeth Shoe. Yeah. [00:38:09] Speaker B: I forgot everything I was going to talk about. [00:38:11] Speaker C: I'm really. [00:38:11] Speaker B: I'm bummed about that right now. I had some good stuff too. [00:38:13] Speaker A: Yeah. Now we're stuck with this. [00:38:15] Speaker B: I know this is some made up. [00:38:19] Speaker C: We just changed at least my life back. [00:38:23] Speaker A: The course of Chicago comedy history just changed it. And you heard it here. [00:38:28] Speaker C: And we can bring back all the legends and now it's going to be great. Khalil, Aaron Foster, they're all going to start showing up. [00:38:34] Speaker A: Aaron Foster was booked to do Prime Time, which is one of our house shows. [00:38:39] Speaker C: So what? [00:38:40] Speaker A: And no showed. [00:38:42] Speaker C: He no called. No show. [00:38:44] Speaker B: Really? [00:38:44] Speaker A: Yeah. Maybe it's in his headliner. I was like, wow, what? [00:38:48] Speaker C: And he never showed or called. Jesus. Who booked him? [00:38:54] Speaker A: One of the cast of the Things. [00:38:56] Speaker C: Wow. Wow, that's. That's surprising. Hope he's okay. We had a falling out after the. Why the Fortrays. [00:39:09] Speaker A: Did you buy the four trays yet? [00:39:11] Speaker B: No, somebody else bought on Damon. Yeah, they're closed. [00:39:15] Speaker C: You know they're closed now, but they're reopening. [00:39:17] Speaker B: Yeah, they. They weren't closed for long cuz they were open a couple months ago. I stopped in there. [00:39:22] Speaker C: They closed like a week or two ago. [00:39:23] Speaker B: Yeah, right. I just. I went by the other day. Yeah, I used to stop there every once in a while cuz I lived in uptown. I worked here and it was like kind of halfway. [00:39:29] Speaker A: Did you go to the Bellow? [00:39:30] Speaker C: Do you ever go to do your act? [00:39:32] Speaker B: I didn't even know they had an open mic. There's never anybody in there except for me. [00:39:35] Speaker A: Bill o' Donnell's do your act show. [00:39:37] Speaker C: Can we call the do your act from. [00:39:40] Speaker B: Yeah, for sure. [00:39:41] Speaker C: I already got the stuff printed up. [00:39:42] Speaker B: I'll make T shirts. [00:39:43] Speaker C: Do your act. It's going to be so good. Oh man, this is awesome. [00:39:48] Speaker A: I went to Madison on Saturday. [00:39:50] Speaker C: You did? [00:39:51] Speaker A: For a college football game. [00:39:53] Speaker B: You really game? [00:39:54] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:39:54] Speaker C: With Heather? [00:39:55] Speaker A: Yeah, because she. She's alumni. Full of school pride. [00:39:58] Speaker B: Did you take the Amtrak out there? [00:40:00] Speaker C: No, you can go right into Madison. I didn't know that. [00:40:03] Speaker A: Her mate. Her mate is married to a guy who has season tickets. So once a year I get dragged to the Madison. [00:40:10] Speaker B: How is it who think about going out there? [00:40:12] Speaker A: It was a boring ass game. They creamed Southern California University. [00:40:20] Speaker C: They played usc. [00:40:22] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:40:23] Speaker C: They're a big school. Yeah, they whooped up on them. [00:40:26] Speaker A: Yep. [00:40:26] Speaker C: Wow. Did you stay. You stayed the night up there? [00:40:28] Speaker A: Nah, came back. [00:40:29] Speaker C: That's a drive. [00:40:30] Speaker A: That's why I missed the final bloody flea of the season. [00:40:34] Speaker C: That was the last one. [00:40:35] Speaker A: Didn't get home till like half one. [00:40:39] Speaker C: I wasn't here anyway to go, but I missed all the flea. [00:40:42] Speaker A: Yep. [00:40:43] Speaker C: That blows. [00:40:44] Speaker A: Gutted. [00:40:45] Speaker B: You ever been to Skokie theater? [00:40:48] Speaker C: No. [00:40:49] Speaker A: They're making a big play for comedy now. [00:40:52] Speaker B: Are they really Borky and I played there on Saturday. Really? Yeah. [00:40:55] Speaker C: It was a nice theater. [00:40:56] Speaker B: Wonderful theater. [00:40:57] Speaker C: Is it like. [00:41:00] Speaker B: Yeah, it looks like. I mean it looked pretty good. [00:41:02] Speaker A: I've seen the theater and it's snazzy. [00:41:04] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:41:05] Speaker C: You did the pianos? [00:41:05] Speaker B: Did the pianos, yeah. Yep. Seats about 150 people. [00:41:09] Speaker C: Good crowd? [00:41:09] Speaker B: Yeah, great crowd. Awesome. Yeah, packed it out. [00:41:13] Speaker C: Is that a new gig for you? [00:41:14] Speaker B: Yeah. That was the first time we did it there. I'd never even been to Skokie before. [00:41:17] Speaker C: Come on [00:41:20] Speaker A: I lived in Skokie when [00:41:22] Speaker C: you first landed here, right? Yeah, Lived in somebody's. [00:41:24] Speaker B: You ever go to the. The Village Inn restaurant when you were there? [00:41:28] Speaker A: No. You know what? I used to eat a dinner every night at the food court of Old Orchard Mall because it was cornucopia. I could have a different meal every night. [00:41:39] Speaker B: Sure. [00:41:40] Speaker C: Is it cornucopia? I've never heard it pronounced like that. Cornucopia. [00:41:44] Speaker B: Cornucopia is the college. [00:41:46] Speaker C: Huh? [00:41:47] Speaker B: Yep. [00:41:48] Speaker A: Yep. [00:41:48] Speaker B: I had the meatloaf over at Village Inn. I highly recommend it. Yeah, yeah. $14. [00:41:54] Speaker C: That's not a bad price. [00:41:54] Speaker B: Two pieces of meatloaf. [00:41:56] Speaker A: Wait, where's Village Inn? [00:41:57] Speaker C: Skokie. [00:41:58] Speaker B: Yes, it's on Lincoln, about a block from the Skokie Theater. [00:42:07] Speaker A: Yeah, I know what you mean. [00:42:08] Speaker B: Mashed potatoes. [00:42:09] Speaker C: Good for you. [00:42:10] Speaker B: Garlic bread that corny that. [00:42:12] Speaker C: After the. [00:42:12] Speaker B: Before. Before the show. Yeah, I ate a huge dinner and then went and played the show. Yeah, it was bananas. If I see meatloaf on a menu, I'm getting it, though. It's. It's just happening. Yeah, I don't care. It was only 14. And you get 20 off if you are. If you have tickets to the Skokie, which of course we didn't because we were performing. So we had to kind of tell them, like, well, we don't have tickets because of. [00:42:34] Speaker C: We're more than that. Give me 40. [00:42:35] Speaker B: Yeah, it was only $11.20 for this huge meatloaf dinner. [00:42:39] Speaker A: Skokie theater would have a high end buffet for the artist. [00:42:42] Speaker B: No, they don't really. They. They just reopened, so they don't really have. They don't really have it all together yet. They don't even. They didn't have a bar or a bartender, but like they were selling cans of beer. [00:42:54] Speaker C: They did a rental in there. [00:42:55] Speaker A: Thinking of. [00:42:56] Speaker C: Then you're thinking of the Bijou Theater where you used to go. [00:42:59] Speaker A: There's a big fancy newish theater in Skokie. [00:43:03] Speaker B: It's probably not that. [00:43:04] Speaker C: Then Skokie Performing Arts center is what [00:43:06] Speaker A: you're probably might be a Hannibal Boris play. [00:43:08] Speaker C: Yeah, that's like a big. Yeah, like Cosby would play there or something. [00:43:11] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:43:12] Speaker C: You know, like for whiteheads. White hairs. [00:43:15] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:43:16] Speaker B: It had a huge marquee outside. [00:43:19] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:43:19] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:43:20] Speaker C: Maybe that is the same place. [00:43:21] Speaker B: Yeah. With our names on it. It was nice. [00:43:23] Speaker C: That's. That's awesome. You should have said to them, listen, hey, we don't have tickets. We're the act tonight. You. You comp this meal. I'm gonna go up there during the show and tell everybody you gotta go over the Skokie or the Village Inn afterwards for dinner and get 20% off. I'm not. [00:43:42] Speaker B: I'm not that shrewd of a businessman. I just. I ate my meatloaf and I talked about it during the show anyway. [00:43:47] Speaker C: You did? Yeah, yeah. [00:43:48] Speaker B: Oh, I thought. I'm still thinking about it. [00:43:50] Speaker C: You liked it? [00:43:51] Speaker B: I loved it. You'll be back up there 100. Yeah, we're going back up. We're playing another show. And I'm getting the meatloaf again. [00:43:56] Speaker C: Are we keeping you up over here? [00:43:58] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:43:58] Speaker C: Jesus, you're young. [00:43:59] Speaker A: Presents. [00:44:00] Speaker C: Yeah, let's do presents. [00:44:01] Speaker B: We're about 45 in anyway. Yeah, let's do presents to get to it. [00:44:05] Speaker C: Or should we put them all on the table like poker? Show them I didn't bring anything good today. Okay. [00:44:11] Speaker A: Oh, by the way, a new segment I'm gonna start. I'm gonna value everything that I give you from now on and make sure there's parity in this gift giving. [00:44:19] Speaker C: So you're getting equal value back. Yeah. Oh, you've already classed. [00:44:23] Speaker B: It's not gonna happen today. [00:44:24] Speaker C: Alliances. Okay. Oh, I left something in the car for you. [00:44:30] Speaker A: No need to swear. [00:44:31] Speaker B: Well, watch this. Ready? Ready. I'm gonna toss it to you. [00:44:34] Speaker C: Okay. [00:44:37] Speaker B: It's a button. I got the same one, but I [00:44:39] Speaker C: was going Janitor and the Bum. [00:44:42] Speaker B: Oh, that was almost. I almost won a giant teddy bear. [00:44:45] Speaker C: I love buttons. [00:44:46] Speaker B: Yeah, that's a button from my synth pop band that I had back in the day. I do want to resurrect it someday. I was going through. Oh, I was trying to find these. Oh, that's also your gifts. [00:44:56] Speaker C: That's amazing. [00:44:57] Speaker B: I was trying. I was getting those frames out, and I've got this big arm wire, and I've got all this merch from my old band in there. So there's a couple buttons from my old band. [00:45:05] Speaker A: Who were you? The janitor? [00:45:07] Speaker B: I'm the janitor. Yeah. Because the janitor, the key. The piano has a lot of keys. Like a janitor. No, the bum was Kevin Kaufman, who now lives in Buffalo. Again. He played the guitar, I played the synth. [00:45:17] Speaker A: Was he a bum? Buffalo band bum, as in what Americans would call a tramp or a bum, as in what English people would call an asshole. [00:45:24] Speaker B: He was a bum because when we both moved here to Chicago, he'd be over at my apartment all the time, just bumming around, which I invited. And there used to be a cleaning product called the Janitor in a drum [00:45:34] Speaker C: way back Janitor in a Drum. [00:45:36] Speaker B: In a drum. And so I had a band in Buffalo that I played the Keys. It was just me and a drummer. And so I called that band the Janitor and the Drum. And then when I moved here and I started the Janitor and the Bum. The Bum is good friends with the drummer from Buffalo, So it became the Janitor and the Bum. [00:45:56] Speaker C: You should have called it Piece of Rock History. [00:45:58] Speaker A: Janitor and the Chum of the Drum bomb. [00:46:04] Speaker B: I know. What a missed opportunity there. [00:46:07] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:46:08] Speaker C: It's a mouthful, though, you know. [00:46:10] Speaker B: No, it would fit very easily on a poster. [00:46:12] Speaker C: Okay. [00:46:12] Speaker A: All right. [00:46:13] Speaker C: Here he goes. He's in the bag. He's in his knapsack. [00:46:16] Speaker A: Oh, man. [00:46:17] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [00:46:18] Speaker A: We've both got our fancy things and. [00:46:21] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, I don't have a fancy. [00:46:22] Speaker C: Oh, that's a great idea. [00:46:23] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:46:24] Speaker A: So I got this 30 years ago from Treasure Island Casino. And I was like, I wonder if it's. Yeah, in Vegas. I wonder if it's collectible now. 90 bucks for. On ebay. [00:46:37] Speaker C: And you can't verify these values and [00:46:39] Speaker B: you're parting ways with it? [00:46:41] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm just right in the locker now. [00:46:44] Speaker B: Well, when you see me walk in here with $90, next time, you're gonna know. [00:46:47] Speaker A: No, you better walk in here with this. Goddamn thing. Fell to the brim. [00:46:53] Speaker C: That's got some heft. [00:46:54] Speaker B: Yeah, it does some weight. I almost. For a second, I was wondering if it was plastic, but it is not. [00:46:59] Speaker A: Tell you what, you hit someone without bastard, they're not getting up in a hurry. [00:47:02] Speaker B: No. It's even got a sharp chin on. [00:47:05] Speaker A: Does. [00:47:05] Speaker B: You could finish them off. [00:47:06] Speaker C: Yeah, you could brain somebody with that. [00:47:08] Speaker B: Brain. I'm a giant. Next time, I'm making a giant. Something to drink with this. [00:47:13] Speaker C: Yeah. Grog. [00:47:14] Speaker B: Rum. [00:47:16] Speaker C: Yeah, Rum for Halloween. Get after it. [00:47:20] Speaker A: Talking to Halloween, we're keeping the theme going with dawn of the Dead VHS for your youth to catch up on. Those are going for 45. [00:47:30] Speaker B: All right. [00:47:30] Speaker C: Come on. With the prices on this? On ebay, you're inflating these prices? [00:47:34] Speaker A: No, it's. [00:47:35] Speaker C: It's $40 for. If it was 40, you would have sold it. [00:47:38] Speaker A: It's 120 if it's sealed, which that isn't. [00:47:41] Speaker B: You know, this is perfect because we used to sell those buttons for $135 a pop. So you've gotten your return on investment already. [00:47:48] Speaker C: There's dawn of the Dead. That. Is that the original? [00:47:51] Speaker A: Yeah, that's the one in the shopping mall. [00:47:53] Speaker C: Okay. And then Day of the Dead is The next one. [00:47:56] Speaker A: Well, there's Night of the Living Dead was the first. [00:47:58] Speaker C: That's Georgia black and white. [00:48:00] Speaker A: Right. [00:48:01] Speaker C: This is the second one. Yeah, I think second data returning to life. [00:48:05] Speaker A: Yeah. Because Night of the Living Dead's black and white. Right. And that's like 60sish. [00:48:12] Speaker C: Yes. [00:48:12] Speaker A: This is the seven from the 70s. [00:48:15] Speaker C: Wow. Well, this. I don't know if I can get the VCR out there, but this may make it. [00:48:19] Speaker A: I gave you a vcr. [00:48:21] Speaker C: No, I have a vcr. But what I'm about to say is that come in, you're both invited is kind of the last second thing. Well, I already told you, I'm having my disturbing film festival on Halloween night from dusk till dawn. [00:48:34] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:48:34] Speaker C: Mark, I'm late. [00:48:35] Speaker B: I'm making. I'm picking you up at 2am how [00:48:38] Speaker A: are you gonna be out on the pavement playing films with the whole neighborhood asleep? [00:48:46] Speaker C: Well, we've done it before. Well, we did. We. We cut the films earlier before. But we were out there till 3, 4 in the morning just gonna show the films. It'd probably be just me out there watching films on the sidewalk, to be honest. But I'm gonna do it all night. [00:49:00] Speaker A: Then all the, like local hobos glom on and just make. [00:49:03] Speaker C: There are some. [00:49:04] Speaker A: There was one that made a nuisance of himself, Richard, with. With McGannon last year. [00:49:10] Speaker C: Was it the hobo? [00:49:12] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, I know he wasn't a hobo, but he was someone who sort of wandered into the frame. And I thought. He seemed to know. [00:49:18] Speaker C: He's getting real interactive with the show. [00:49:20] Speaker A: No, he's getting interactive with like McGannon and his misses and you could see the agitation. McGannon was already extremely Latin fellow. [00:49:29] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, he was drunk, that guy. He was a neighbor. [00:49:32] Speaker A: I mean, he was. McGannon was already extremely agitated because you dragged him onto stage. [00:49:37] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. He came up on stage. [00:49:38] Speaker A: The look he gave me when you called his name. Yeah, I'm surprised he didn't chin you. [00:49:44] Speaker C: Yeah, he didn't like it. [00:49:46] Speaker B: Then he went up with a treasure there. [00:49:48] Speaker C: You called up on stage to do [00:49:50] Speaker A: your act and then. [00:49:51] Speaker C: Well, I need someone else to do the. [00:49:52] Speaker B: Right. [00:49:52] Speaker A: And then he comes off stage and this drunken guy is just critiquing his act. Pain in the ass. [00:49:59] Speaker C: Yeah, real pain. [00:50:00] Speaker A: That's when I left. [00:50:01] Speaker B: That's the best. When some stranger that has no crash the party. [00:50:05] Speaker C: Well, when you have it out on the sidewalk. [00:50:07] Speaker B: Yeah. Can't really control. Just wants to give you an earful of their opinions on what you just did. [00:50:12] Speaker A: That's exactly when I. [00:50:13] Speaker C: He was. Were you there when he was heckling me the whole night? I couldn't deal. [00:50:16] Speaker A: I know. He's real gobby. [00:50:18] Speaker C: Yeah, he threw me and ruined my act. [00:50:20] Speaker B: That's great. [00:50:21] Speaker C: Like, couldn't handle that kind of crowd work. Okay, well, I was in the Ozarks, and I was at Ozark Land. Have you been to Ozark Land? No, It's a big, like. Kind of like Wall Drug. I've never been to Wall Drug, but you know the place in South Dakota. It's like a big, like, Ozark gift shop. It's a huge, like, country manor. Looks like a plantation. It's called Ozark Land. [00:50:41] Speaker A: Is it like the gift shop in three Billboards outside of Ebbing, Missouri? [00:50:46] Speaker B: Maybe. [00:50:46] Speaker C: I don't remember the gift shop there, [00:50:48] Speaker A: but do you remember the guy goes in and he. And he breaks something to try and intimidate her? [00:50:53] Speaker C: Oh, no, I don't. I didn't remember that, but. So I look for things for you guys that were very inexpensive. And here's what I came up with. I see. Man, I wanted. I was. I had in my hand, and I brought it back from the register, a license plate that said, like, the Ozarks, Christian. But it was $5.99. [00:51:14] Speaker B: Yeah, it's too much. [00:51:14] Speaker C: I was like, I mean, come on, $6 for a license plate? So instead, I got you a Hacky sack. See if you can 399. [00:51:23] Speaker B: Get it into the mug. [00:51:23] Speaker C: All right, here we go. You seem like a guy who would Hacky Sack. [00:51:27] Speaker B: I'll give it a shot. [00:51:27] Speaker C: Have you ever Hacky sacked? [00:51:29] Speaker B: Sure. [00:51:29] Speaker C: We could do it in the alley on breaks. Yes, Seaman. All right, so there's that for you and now Mark for you. We've talked about this on the show. Those. The names like Willie and Jethro that you. You iron on the shirts dug through thing. They have the big barrel of names, right? They didn't have Seaman in there. I would have got a new one, too. [00:51:51] Speaker B: Can you imagine? [00:51:51] Speaker C: They don't have those names they have, like. Yeah, Albert. [00:51:55] Speaker B: I can't believe that Seaman is such a common name, too. [00:51:57] Speaker C: Well, no, they have Christian. But I did find Mark. But it has a C. Just add. [00:52:05] Speaker A: As long as it's $45 value, I'll take it. [00:52:08] Speaker C: I don't think it was. I never looked at the price, but I think it was a buck. That was a buck, Mark. [00:52:14] Speaker A: You put on one of your shirts, maybe I'll just. Maybe I'll biro in a Y on the end and just be Marcy. [00:52:20] Speaker C: Marcy. Yeah. There you go. All right. [00:52:23] Speaker B: Marcy's playground. [00:52:24] Speaker C: That is gifts. That we call that segment Alex Cuomo's gift Exchange. I want to apologize. Sponsored by Alex Kormos, who is. We probably would have just stopped doing it, but because of the whole thing now we've doubled down. [00:52:37] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:52:38] Speaker C: I want to apologize to him for the past few weeks, telling him to fuck himself and all this. Fuck him, right? [00:52:44] Speaker B: Does he actually listen to the show? [00:52:46] Speaker C: Yes, he does. Was he very upset? [00:52:48] Speaker B: Was he actually the person? [00:52:49] Speaker C: He is? Yes, he's the man. He's the guy. All right, Well, I don't know. [00:52:56] Speaker B: Does he. [00:52:57] Speaker C: What are you doing over there? You're going to hacky over here. [00:53:01] Speaker B: Eventually. [00:53:02] Speaker C: You're going to hack. They call it. They say hack. [00:53:04] Speaker B: How do you think they get the little plastic thing on there if you can't get the other end? How do they get it in there? That's crazy. [00:53:11] Speaker A: Oh, you've never seen the gun that does it? [00:53:14] Speaker B: A gun [00:53:17] Speaker A: swift at you. Yeah. So it. It feeds the. The bit down like a. Like a needle, and then when it emerges at the other end, it pings out. [00:53:27] Speaker B: So the other end is gonna be in here forever? [00:53:29] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:53:30] Speaker C: Oh, it's fell in there. [00:53:31] Speaker B: Yeah. It's gonna throw the balance off. [00:53:33] Speaker C: Eventually, that thing's gonna split open. The beads are gonna. Yeah, the little. [00:53:37] Speaker A: If you ever get a cat or a dog, it'll be long gone. You'll just find it spilled out. [00:53:42] Speaker C: Yeah. All right, after the show, let's go hacking the. [00:53:46] Speaker B: Yeah. I finally determined I'm not gonna get more fish in my fish tank. It's just gonna be a underwater plant garden, basically. [00:53:55] Speaker C: I thought there are none in there, right? [00:53:56] Speaker B: There aren't, but. Yeah. [00:53:58] Speaker C: You're not gonna go get more. [00:53:59] Speaker B: No, no. [00:54:00] Speaker C: We're gonna get you something to put in there. I am. [00:54:02] Speaker B: There are a bunch of snails in there right now. I don't know how they got there, but they. [00:54:06] Speaker C: They're living. [00:54:07] Speaker B: One got in, and they multiplied. Yeah. They eat the algae. Yeah. There's multiple little tiny ones. Oh, my God. One day there was one, the next day there was 60. Oh, it was crazy. [00:54:16] Speaker C: Well, they'd have shells to go in. [00:54:18] Speaker A: Maybe it was. [00:54:19] Speaker B: They grow them, I guess. I don't know. [00:54:20] Speaker C: No. [00:54:21] Speaker A: Prega's female came in. [00:54:23] Speaker C: The snails grow their own show. [00:54:25] Speaker B: Where do you think they got them? [00:54:28] Speaker C: Like, hermit shells are us. [00:54:29] Speaker A: They. [00:54:29] Speaker C: They find their way into them, and they grow in them. [00:54:31] Speaker B: I don't think it's like hermit crabs. [00:54:34] Speaker C: How about sea Monkeys. We could get you sea monkeys. [00:54:36] Speaker A: I just said that. [00:54:37] Speaker C: Oh, you did. [00:54:37] Speaker A: Totally ignored it. [00:54:38] Speaker C: I didn't hear. I apologize. [00:54:41] Speaker B: What are sea monkeys? [00:54:41] Speaker C: Actually, they're like brine shrimp. [00:54:44] Speaker B: Yeah, right. [00:54:44] Speaker C: Right. Yeah. [00:54:46] Speaker A: Some sort of. [00:54:47] Speaker C: They make them anymore, though. All right, well, let's. We've. We've exhausted. [00:54:55] Speaker B: Speaking of. Brian. Shrimp. [00:54:57] Speaker C: Yeah. Nina Dicker. Nina Dicker. What? Why? You look pensive. [00:55:05] Speaker A: What's that gonna do with shrimp? [00:55:06] Speaker C: I don't know. He's. It was a clunky segue. He was being silly, right? [00:55:12] Speaker B: Yeah, I was being facility. [00:55:13] Speaker C: Facility. He was being facility. I did want to say this, and I never finished the story. So I went to pick up my kid, and I walk into his apartment and his roommates are there. And I was like, come on, we're going to this movie. Went to see the movie with the guy with the penis. And I was like, you guys want to come? And they're like, well, yeah, I guess. And they're like, hold on. And they. As I'm waiting there, the one roommate just grabs a bong and just ripped a couple bong bong rips right in front of you. Right in front of me? [00:55:39] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:55:39] Speaker C: You believe that? No respect, ripping a bong right in front of roommate's dad. [00:55:44] Speaker B: Right. Do they live in a dorm? [00:55:47] Speaker C: No, they live in an apartment. [00:55:48] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:55:48] Speaker B: They can't do that in a dorm. Right. I never lived in a dorm. [00:55:52] Speaker C: Believe that. The kids would do that. [00:55:53] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:55:53] Speaker C: I've ever ripped a bong. [00:55:55] Speaker B: Not in front of my. No, my friend, but any adult that's around. You're not ripping bongs in front of them. [00:55:59] Speaker C: That's ripped one right in front of me. [00:56:01] Speaker B: What did you say? [00:56:01] Speaker C: Then we got in the car, went to the movies. I was like, hurry up and rip that toke. We gotta go. [00:56:06] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:56:08] Speaker A: Why don't you give him one of your CBD fags on the Waynes? I don't have them on you save time. [00:56:15] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:56:16] Speaker B: Does your kid rip bongs? [00:56:18] Speaker C: I think he. He does smoke, but not like these guys. [00:56:22] Speaker B: He's not, like, ripping bongs in front of his. [00:56:24] Speaker C: Yeah, he will, but he's not a bad smoker. Yeah. No, he's less than that. Yeah, I was very surprised by that. [00:56:30] Speaker B: Well, I guess they are roommates, not friends, you know? [00:56:32] Speaker C: No, they're friends. Oh, they're friends and roommates. [00:56:35] Speaker B: How long have you known the bong Ripper? [00:56:38] Speaker C: All through high school. [00:56:39] Speaker B: Okay, so you have. You've known each other for a while. Yeah. And he feels comfortable enough in front of you to Rip a bong? [00:56:44] Speaker C: Yes. I should be flattered. [00:56:46] Speaker B: Was that always something like that? Do you think he was kind of testing the waters, too? Like, maybe. Look at me, I'm an adult now. I'm gonna rip a bong in front of him. [00:56:52] Speaker C: Would it have been appropriate for me to rip the bong with them? [00:56:56] Speaker A: No. [00:56:56] Speaker B: No. Not if you're about to drive to the movie theater if you're gonna watch a movie there with them. Yeah, I still don't think it's appropriate. Was. It's not. It's not wildly inappropriate, but it's not. [00:57:05] Speaker C: But I. [00:57:06] Speaker A: It doesn't look good on pipe. [00:57:07] Speaker B: No, it doesn't look good. [00:57:08] Speaker C: The optics on. [00:57:09] Speaker B: Think about it. Would you want somebody, you know, walking in while you're ripping a bong with them? You know, and if the answer is no, then that means it's not. Right? [00:57:15] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:57:15] Speaker A: Plus they'll be filming you while you're doing it. [00:57:17] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. [00:57:18] Speaker A: Right, Haywire? [00:57:20] Speaker C: Yeah, I didn't want to necessarily. I just wondered if, like, because marijuana is legal now, it's. Is it any different than drinking a beer with these young men? [00:57:30] Speaker A: Well, they're backing it off in Wisconsin, aren't they? [00:57:35] Speaker B: Illinois. I don't think they're backing off like legal marijuana. They're doing that with the THC drinks. Of course. [00:57:41] Speaker C: We know that here, I think, take them out. [00:57:43] Speaker B: Right. [00:57:43] Speaker C: You can't have them anymore. [00:57:44] Speaker B: Well, after December 12th, you can't buy them. [00:57:47] Speaker A: You can't buy them, you can't sell them. But I think Wisconsin's backing off totally. [00:57:53] Speaker C: Really? They're repealing the law, I think. So they're going to be able to buy marijuana up there. Can you now? [00:57:59] Speaker A: Because that's what the guy said. He goes, everyone's just going to go to Illinois and Iowa. What's the point? [00:58:03] Speaker B: Or Michigan. Right. The Michigan is super cheap, I guess. But to answer your question, no, it's not appropriate to rip a bong. Like, you could. Let's say you wanted. It's not like having a beer. [00:58:13] Speaker C: Okay, but I could have a beer with these. [00:58:15] Speaker B: Right. So. But, but, but you wouldn't funnel a beer, you know, you wouldn't put it into. You wouldn't, like, shotgun a beer with these guys, you know? Exactly. You might have a beer with them, but you're an adult. You're not shotgunning beer. It's just like, you might maybe like, take a drag off of a joint or something. [00:58:31] Speaker C: If they passed me the joint, I had a little puff on it. That would be okay. [00:58:33] Speaker B: That's fine. [00:58:34] Speaker C: That's okay. [00:58:35] Speaker B: But ripping a bong, that's crazy. [00:58:37] Speaker C: I don't want to drink or smoke with any of these kids. [00:58:39] Speaker B: Well, you shouldn't. You shouldn't. But it's not the same. A bong is aggressive. [00:58:43] Speaker C: That's aggressive. [00:58:44] Speaker B: Yeah, I. I would say, like, with your son, maybe you could probably, like. [00:58:47] Speaker C: No, I would especially. [00:58:48] Speaker B: I. I would. I still. I still wouldn't do it with, like, anybody's friends, you know, I guess. I guess, like, a father and son is different than your son's friends. [00:58:57] Speaker C: I wouldn't. Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:58:59] Speaker B: And listen to me. I know what I'm talking about. I don't have kids. [00:59:01] Speaker C: Yes. Yeah. Okay. Thank you for that advice. [00:59:05] Speaker B: Yeah, absolutely. [00:59:06] Speaker C: It meant something to me. I made the right decision. [00:59:08] Speaker B: Call 1-800-THE SEAMAN for more advice if you need it. [00:59:12] Speaker C: 1-800-SEAMAN the SEAMAN. [00:59:15] Speaker B: You're going to fulfill those seven letters. [00:59:17] Speaker A: There was an England and Arsenal goalkeeper called David Seaman. [00:59:21] Speaker B: I should get his jersey. Is it spelled C, M, A, N, [00:59:25] Speaker A: S, E, A, M, N. Damn it. [00:59:27] Speaker C: I play golf with a guy named Joe Seaman. [00:59:29] Speaker B: S, E, E, M, A, N. So close every time. [00:59:32] Speaker C: Seaman. [00:59:33] Speaker B: I'm the only C man out there. [00:59:34] Speaker C: No, you're the only C man. There any semen? They used to call Kramer the Seaman, didn't they? Or K man. [00:59:42] Speaker B: Yeah, the K man. [00:59:43] Speaker C: The Cayman. [00:59:44] Speaker B: I'm glad it's catching on. A lot of people calling me the C man. [00:59:47] Speaker C: It's starting to be years. [00:59:47] Speaker B: It took me years of saying that before people started saying it. [00:59:50] Speaker C: Well, I only had to hear it once, and then I was sold on it. [00:59:52] Speaker B: Right. It's a good nickname. Yeah. [00:59:57] Speaker C: Speaking of nicknames, I don't have another one, but. Nina Dicker. [01:00:03] Speaker B: Nina Dicker. [01:00:06] Speaker C: I watch. I watched this. Sort of. Watch this. [01:00:08] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:00:09] Speaker C: In the car. [01:00:10] Speaker B: What made you pick it? [01:00:13] Speaker C: I was watching whatever we watched the last time. [01:00:16] Speaker B: Hannibal Burris. [01:00:17] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:00:18] Speaker C: Was that. Oh, no. I was on YouTube watching something. [01:00:23] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:00:24] Speaker C: I think something for the show. Oh, maybe Dice. I don't know. I was on YouTube and it was in the algorithm on the. Right. You know, of all the other comedians like, to look for. And I just was looking down at all the different comedians and then she popped up and it said, nina Dicker, Tangerine Vagina. And showed her on stage and the mic. I was like, that sounds pretty good. [01:00:47] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:00:49] Speaker A: I'm gonna doubt that story. [01:00:51] Speaker C: Why? [01:00:52] Speaker B: What do you think happened? [01:00:54] Speaker A: Because there's no way this particular material is showing up in a feed. [01:01:00] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. [01:01:01] Speaker A: Suggested by Dice Clay. [01:01:04] Speaker C: I. Maybe it wasn't dice. I don't remember why or what it was. [01:01:07] Speaker A: Here's what I Watching happened. [01:01:10] Speaker C: You're right. It wouldn't be in a DICE algorithm. [01:01:12] Speaker A: What I think happened is twice in the last few episodes you've tried to fish me and the seaman into saying something about a comedian that you have picked that is clearly offensive. And you hang back and you wait for us to give him one star or sort of something, and then you get cute and say, no, he's totally offensive. He's a swat and makes you guys look like. And then me and. Right. So here's what's going on. And here's what's happening with Nina Dicker. [01:01:55] Speaker C: Okay? [01:01:56] Speaker A: This is your attempted coup d', etat where you put this on the table. We are then forced to maybe say negative things about it. [01:02:10] Speaker C: Why would you. [01:02:11] Speaker A: You pile on and say, no, this is the most important voice in comedy right now, and anything you've said that is detrimental to it is misogynistic and cruel. Given the nature of the material, that is what went through your brain. What I'm interested to know is who suggested this person to you to execute that ploy? That is your Mrs. Yeah. [01:02:40] Speaker C: My Mrs. She doesn't know about. No. From comedy. [01:02:44] Speaker A: If you're out there. If you're out there on the boards, we want to know the message boards. [01:02:51] Speaker C: Yes. [01:02:52] Speaker A: Who told Bill to pick this to execute his ploy? [01:02:57] Speaker C: I will say that that was. That was admirable. Armchair psychology. Not that far off. Particularly at the beginning when you talked about how I set you up on the Diceman and whoever. The other one. Tim Allen. [01:03:12] Speaker A: Right. [01:03:12] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, that was a good one. [01:03:14] Speaker C: That was good. That was good. You weren't wrong there. But the hand of God. When I say I was scrolling through the thing on the. Right. On YouTube, I don't know what it was. Maybe it was Tim Allen. [01:03:28] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:03:28] Speaker C: Tim Allen was YouTube. [01:03:29] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:03:30] Speaker C: So then there was Tim Allen. [01:03:31] Speaker A: I get it. This was very similar material to Tim Allen. So YouTube would have put it up. [01:03:36] Speaker C: Well in the algorithm. [01:03:37] Speaker B: It. [01:03:38] Speaker C: It. Because it's my YouTube channel. I'm watching it on. It had all the other. It had a lot of Kyle Kanane in there. I don't know why. It had a lot of Norm MacDonald, which always pops up in my algorithm, because I watch clips of him. [01:03:52] Speaker A: Right. [01:03:54] Speaker C: If I know why she popped in there, there was lots of different comedians in there. Right. I think. I think you're. You just can't believe that someone like her would pop up in my algorithm because she's. What do you call LGBTQ or whatever. And a woman. And you like to say that. I don't like any women. [01:04:13] Speaker A: She's a female comedian, therefore she would not. But even your outlet. [01:04:17] Speaker B: This is why I thought you picked it is to have this very conversation right now to say, look at me. I am more progressive than you've given me credit for, Mark. I'm not saying, hey, I'm bipartisan. I'm Sweden over here. [01:04:30] Speaker C: Listen. I'd be lying. [01:04:32] Speaker B: Switzerland. [01:04:33] Speaker C: I'd be lying. [01:04:33] Speaker B: Switzerland. I'm Switzerland. [01:04:34] Speaker A: Both of them. [01:04:35] Speaker B: Oh, both of them. I'm both of them. [01:04:37] Speaker C: Both Sweden. And Switzerland. [01:04:38] Speaker B: And Switzerland. [01:04:39] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:04:39] Speaker C: I'd be lying if I. If I said. If I didn't say. Didn't say that. I don't like the abuse I get in here about being a misogynist. Right. I don't like it. [01:04:50] Speaker B: Which doesn't come from Switzerland or Sweden, by the way. [01:04:53] Speaker C: Right? [01:04:54] Speaker B: You're right. [01:04:54] Speaker C: It doesn't come from you See, man, It comes from you, Mark. And I think it's unfair. The nihilists. You don't like women. Like, you're really tarnishing my image when you do that. And I take it, and I try to fight back, but I don't. I don't appreciate it, and I don't think it's accurate. It's somewhat accurate, I'll say, right? I do lean towards more male comedians. Whatever, okay? But to say that I don't like female comedians, just untrue. And so I was conscious of having not picked a female in a long time. And when this gal caught my eye in the feed, the true feed, I. I picked her. Now, even you can acknowledge that because of the comedians you guys pick. [01:05:40] Speaker B: Right? [01:05:41] Speaker C: I watch female comedians on YouTube, so they are going to pop up in the algorithm, especially one with a filthy title, which is in my wheelhouse. [01:05:53] Speaker B: There's nothing filthy about a vagina. [01:05:55] Speaker C: So. Tangerine vagina, Nina Dicker. I said, I don't know what this is. I didn't know what he told me anything about it. I said, I'm picking that. That was it. And that is, hand of God, the truth. [01:06:06] Speaker B: Did you watch any of it before recommending it? [01:06:08] Speaker C: Not a. Not even a second. [01:06:10] Speaker B: Yeah, I thought so. And that doesn't mean anything one way or the other. I just had a feeling, and I [01:06:15] Speaker C: will say that it's true. Most of the comedians that you guys have. Well, Seaman doesn't ever choose a woman. [01:06:20] Speaker A: Right. [01:06:20] Speaker C: And he gets no shit about it. Right? [01:06:23] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:06:24] Speaker C: But chosen a woman comedian. [01:06:25] Speaker B: I've got. I'VE got. [01:06:26] Speaker C: Right. [01:06:26] Speaker B: I've got immunity because I pick old comedians and women didn't do comedy back then. [01:06:32] Speaker A: I mean, there's a. There's true. There's a circuit running. Right. [01:06:35] Speaker C: Yeah. He's chosen less than me. [01:06:37] Speaker A: You pick white male comedians. I pick female comedians because they're not getting a look in. [01:06:43] Speaker B: And I picked him out. [01:06:44] Speaker A: And. And Christian picks any. Any. Anything recorded before 1990, right? [01:06:52] Speaker C: Yes. Except for women that recorded before 1990. [01:06:57] Speaker A: So there's a. Yeah, and that's fine. [01:06:59] Speaker C: Right, okay. That's fine. But. But I'm the one that gets a. About the females, I brought in Leanne Morgan. Right. I. I rated best selling, the best comedian of all time. Right. But yet, still, I came here. [01:07:13] Speaker B: Dragging me into this. [01:07:14] Speaker C: I came here to see Nora Dunn, who I thoroughly enjoyed. [01:07:18] Speaker B: I love. I had Nikki Glaser. I got my notes right here. [01:07:22] Speaker C: I chose Taylor Tomlinson. I don't want to hear it anymore. That's enough. [01:07:27] Speaker A: You've mentioned the two you picked. [01:07:29] Speaker C: No, there's others. Leanne Morgan's. [01:07:32] Speaker B: I. Gallagher. [01:07:34] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:07:34] Speaker B: He's kind of got long hair. [01:07:37] Speaker C: Yeah. You won't find any females on their C. Man. [01:07:39] Speaker B: I just. I just named two of them. Before Gallagher, I had Sarah Silverman. There's three. And this is just season one. [01:07:47] Speaker C: Oh, we got to do best of. [01:07:49] Speaker B: Oh, that's right. [01:07:50] Speaker A: Oh, God. Yeah. [01:07:51] Speaker C: Yeah, we're gonna do that soon. [01:07:53] Speaker B: So anyway, Zarna Garg. [01:07:55] Speaker C: You chose the Garg. Yeah, I chose Gar. [01:07:56] Speaker B: No, I was the Garger. No, because I saw Garg on the. [01:07:59] Speaker A: On the. [01:07:59] Speaker B: On the airplane. [01:08:00] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. [01:08:01] Speaker B: She's Gargan next to me. [01:08:02] Speaker C: That's right. All right. Anyway, so I chose a sight unseen. I like the title. She looked offbeat, and I chose it. That's it. [01:08:10] Speaker B: She is offbeat. [01:08:11] Speaker A: Oh. [01:08:12] Speaker B: What do you think about that intro? [01:08:13] Speaker C: I liked it. [01:08:14] Speaker B: She came in hot. [01:08:15] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:08:16] Speaker B: She was dancing. [01:08:17] Speaker C: Yeah. To Soldier Boy. [01:08:18] Speaker B: Yep. [01:08:19] Speaker C: A little foreshadowing. [01:08:20] Speaker B: Hey. Right. I didn't. Yeah. [01:08:22] Speaker A: Foreshadowing. [01:08:23] Speaker C: Yeah. Like what? [01:08:25] Speaker A: You're not really a comedian. You're a performance. [01:08:28] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:08:28] Speaker C: Storyteller. [01:08:29] Speaker A: I was. [01:08:30] Speaker B: Wish they had that whole opening thing with the shark. I wish she had ended that. There was one perfect time that she could have ended. It was when the reveal of her, like, talking to herself with that shark. If it. I was on board, I thought I was like, this is great. I like this. If it ended there, it's like, oh, [01:08:44] Speaker C: you should have ended it already at the intro. [01:08:46] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:08:46] Speaker C: Oh, geez. [01:08:47] Speaker B: It could have been shorter. It would have Been so much better in my opinion. [01:08:50] Speaker C: What did you guys have you ever heard of her? [01:08:52] Speaker B: No, no. [01:08:53] Speaker A: I did a bit of research. She's like one of these trying to sort of crack la, which means she's not really a stand up comedian. She is a whatever performance artist, storyteller, blah, blah, blah. But they have to do standup comedy to get ahead. [01:09:12] Speaker B: Who did she remind you of as far as the performance artist storytelling thing? Somebody. [01:09:16] Speaker A: Every single Mike Barb. [01:09:18] Speaker B: Yes, exactly. That's what I was thinking too. It was like watching. And I'm not trying to make him [01:09:22] Speaker C: a stand up then it was like [01:09:23] Speaker B: watching like his early stuff before. He was really good at talking in like that giant circle that keeps coming back to like earlier points. [01:09:30] Speaker A: Yeah, I knew, I knew what I was in for. [01:09:35] Speaker B: The, the. [01:09:35] Speaker C: She wore like a. I, I see. Because I was in the car driving. I had it like here. Yeah, I was driving. [01:09:40] Speaker A: You know, you're pulling a Gary, you would. [01:09:43] Speaker C: Well, I was coming back from Missouri. I was in there for seven hours. [01:09:46] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:09:46] Speaker C: But so I was just kind of looking and so I didn't get to like zone in. It was on the phone, so I couldn't tell really. You know, you know, her mugging or facial expressions or whatever. I just heard it more than anything and I wasn't able to take notes like I normally do. So I don't have a lot to go on there. I just wrote some down, some stuff after the fact. [01:10:01] Speaker B: But I only watched the actual video, like the first five minutes of it last night and then the rest of it today. I did, I listened to it while I was like making breakfast and that. [01:10:09] Speaker C: So let's fucking not fuck around here. What did you think of this? Because I could not. [01:10:13] Speaker B: I thought I was gonna hate it, but I ended up not hating it. [01:10:16] Speaker C: So you thought you were gonna hate it and then you. [01:10:20] Speaker B: That's why I only watched five minutes of it last night. I watched five minutes. Like, I can't do that. [01:10:24] Speaker C: Really? [01:10:24] Speaker B: How? An hour 11 too. I was like, I'm going to be. I'm not staying up for this. [01:10:28] Speaker A: I cut it in two. [01:10:29] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:10:31] Speaker C: Oh, you cut it in half. [01:10:32] Speaker B: I said I'm going to have to finish it. So yeah, I did. I put it on this morning and I then yeah. And she got going. I was like, it's not terrible. It was all right. [01:10:42] Speaker C: If we had had this show, you know, yesterday afternoon when I got done on Mile Mark or whatever on the way home, I. I was popping out of my seat. I. I could not believe this. And it's that condition. Condition compensatory response. Maybe watching stand up or listening to stand up in a car by myself on a road trip made this hit differently than it would if I was at home with my kids around. [01:11:05] Speaker B: Good notepad. [01:11:06] Speaker C: I think so. Like, I wasn't taking notes, I was just listening. And I thoroughly enjoyed this, like, in a way that I don't normally. [01:11:15] Speaker B: I think if I was watching her because I didn't like the way she looked. I didn't like all like the different, like, actions. I think if I was watching it, the video, I think I would have had a different opinion. [01:11:24] Speaker C: I mean, if you were just listening, [01:11:26] Speaker B: only listening to it made me enjoy it more. [01:11:28] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:11:28] Speaker B: I think. I think if I was actually watching her make the job in the guys. [01:11:32] Speaker C: Oh, her face was off putting. [01:11:34] Speaker B: Yeah. Just like the way that she was moving around and like the different, like little actions she was doing. I'm not a fan of that sort of thing, you know. So not seeing any of that made the material more palpable for myself. [01:11:48] Speaker C: Okay, that's interesting, right? Like if how much some comedian or a performer or any kind of artist visually takes away from the performance. Right. Because you don't like them or could add or you don't like the way they look. Or add. [01:12:02] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:12:02] Speaker C: But I think in more cases it's probably. It takes away maybe add. [01:12:05] Speaker B: I wonder, like. [01:12:07] Speaker C: And I didn't watch her. I didn't really see. I just saw her out of the corner of my eye a couple times. Really. And it made me really enjoy it. I. Maybe I would have not liked it if I had seen her. [01:12:16] Speaker B: Because Mark watched it. Right. And I can already tell by the look on his face. Yeah. [01:12:21] Speaker C: Jesus, you look like a funeral. [01:12:23] Speaker B: He's gonna cry. [01:12:26] Speaker A: It's annoyed me in so many ways. [01:12:30] Speaker B: Visually. [01:12:32] Speaker C: Go. Yeah. It tells. [01:12:34] Speaker B: What, other than the dungarees. [01:12:36] Speaker A: If I was playing one person show bingo, I would have shouted house by the end of it. [01:12:43] Speaker C: What does that mean? [01:12:44] Speaker B: What does house mean? [01:12:45] Speaker A: Content. This was a one person show in the classic one person show. [01:12:52] Speaker C: Like a Bob Wright one man show. [01:12:54] Speaker A: Yeah. So we've got parental abuse, awkward family. What else do we have? We had awkward first boyfriend we had. And this is going to sound really bad. Like Mark. These aren't pedestrian issues. You're talking about sexual assault and. But it was like ever since Hannah Gatsby. [01:13:22] Speaker C: I haven't seen her. I've heard. No, I may have looked at, but [01:13:25] Speaker A: I didn't really know Hannah Gatsby did this landmark comedy. [01:13:29] Speaker C: I Remember hearing about this? [01:13:30] Speaker A: It was. And she really defined. Here's what you're gonna do. It's gonna be laugh, laugh, laugh, laugh, laugh. Something brutal. Ah, that jars you. And ever since then, that is just such a mechanism that everyone's using. And you know, I don't want to like belittle. Obviously there's a lot of sadness in a story of the dad who is a cheapskate. And I bet you want to bring that up to me and stuff like that. But I was the whole time I'm thinking, oh my God, this is like someone sat down and said, all right, what is a one person show? Like, I need to do this, I need to chat. [01:14:09] Speaker B: GPT. [01:14:11] Speaker A: Yeah, right? [01:14:12] Speaker B: Me show me. Yeah. It's like asking AI make a one person show. What does it look like? [01:14:18] Speaker A: Yeah. And this came out, which is like a horrible thing to say when you go, well, what about all the personal stuff? She's sharing my dark and stuff, but my analytical brain is just going, Jesus Christ. [01:14:31] Speaker C: She lays her soul bare here. [01:14:33] Speaker B: Yeah, those parts I didn't really care for. [01:14:36] Speaker C: You think it's not appropriate for it? [01:14:38] Speaker B: Not appropriate or whatever. It's just like if you're. If you're. If the intention here is to make somebody laugh and you know, there's 20 straight minutes of just. This is depressing. [01:14:45] Speaker A: 10 minutes in I wrote. I'm not buying this. [01:14:48] Speaker C: What does that mean? Not buying what? That's true. The things she's saying. [01:14:53] Speaker A: No, I'm not buying the whole thing. [01:14:56] Speaker C: Think it's just Fabricator. [01:14:58] Speaker A: No, not. Not that it's untrue. I'm not buying it. I don't like how it's execute the cons. You two wouldn't have seen this. The goddamn audience was in shot more than she was. Like, it just kept cutting to the audience. [01:15:14] Speaker B: I did notice relentlessly. You know when you go to like one of your friends improv shows, like early on, like when you all first start doing like comedy or whatever, and there's always that person in the audience that's just over the top laughing so hard at stuff that you know is not funny and they know is not funny, but they want to act like they got this joke that nobody else does. Even just listening to this. There were like six of those right next to the microphone, next to the audience. Mike, he just tell like, okay, dude, like settle down. [01:15:40] Speaker A: They cut to the audience so goddamn frequently. Well, it's almost like annoyed me. [01:15:46] Speaker C: The camera was set up to. [01:15:47] Speaker A: To. [01:15:47] Speaker C: You could see them both at the same time. You could see the whole audience react. They really captured the reactions. Well, hot damn. [01:15:56] Speaker A: I don't know what to say here. [01:15:58] Speaker C: Yeah, well, you. I think you just did say it. I couldn't have experienced it any differently. And again, I think maybe just the way I consumed it in the car, I was, like, thoroughly entertained. And maybe when you're in the car, like, usually anything will entertain you if you put on an audiobook or anything, [01:16:17] Speaker B: like Squirrel Running down the street. [01:16:19] Speaker C: Yeah. Like, you're just, you know, alone with your thoughts, and then this comes and offers a nice reprieve. But I thought it, like, her. Her writing was really good. Right. We can. We can quibble about, you know, whether it's appropriate to go dark like this and make people, like, sit uncomfortably with your confessionals. And I. I don't know that. That this is the right place for. But, like, when I. When I was doing comedy, my. My goal was not to sim. I don't. I didn't think of myself as a performance. Someone trying to do performance art. Yeah. But, like, okay, then I was. I wanted people to feel something. Anger at me, sad for me. Well, many times I went up there and I just wanted everyone in that audience to feel horribly sad for me. Right. And would put on some kind of act that made. Attempted to make them feel that way. This, to me, is kind of like that, right? Like, I'm gonna make these people so uncomfortable. I'm gonna make them feel sad. I'm gonna hopefully make them laugh, too. I'm gonna, like, awe them in some way, like, make them see something they've never seen. And I think she checks all those boxes with this. Right. Like, and that, to me, is really [01:17:39] Speaker A: impressive, but it's by rote. That's my whole qualm with it wrote. [01:17:44] Speaker C: I. I think I know what you mean, but I don't think it's. I think it's. What's the word? It's. [01:17:50] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm just like, this is someone that's seen Gatsby and said, maybe I [01:17:55] Speaker C: need to see that. Yeah. Because it's very derivative of that, is what you're telling me. Yeah. [01:17:59] Speaker A: Well, no, it's not directly what Hannah Gadsby did because it is an exceptionally good comedy. [01:18:08] Speaker C: So why is that one good and this one's not if they're so very similar? Because it's. [01:18:11] Speaker A: Because I bought what she was doing. [01:18:16] Speaker B: What is that? [01:18:17] Speaker A: Someone playing a guitar in here. [01:18:19] Speaker C: Maybe my phone buzzing, wherever that is. [01:18:22] Speaker A: Anyway, yeah, you should see Hannah Gadsby because it really. It. It really is Like a powerful, important thing. This felt like someone who'd, you know, like when a band comes out and they're really, like, amazing and everyone's blown away and then all the other. Oh, we'll do that. [01:18:45] Speaker B: Right? [01:18:45] Speaker A: And some of them are good knockoffs, but you always know this is the movement that this band started. Yeah, that's how I felt watching this, guys. [01:18:59] Speaker C: All right. [01:19:02] Speaker B: I don't know. What else do we got to say? [01:19:03] Speaker A: Yeah, I totally ruined that then, didn't I? [01:19:05] Speaker B: No, you didn't ruin it. [01:19:06] Speaker C: No, you both did. [01:19:07] Speaker B: What the hell did I say? [01:19:08] Speaker C: We didn't. I, I, I was so excited about this. Like, I was so impressed by this. [01:19:14] Speaker B: I said it was better than I thought it was going to be. [01:19:16] Speaker A: Maybe you're less jaded than me. [01:19:18] Speaker C: Maybe I'm in a. Yeah, I should [01:19:19] Speaker B: start listening to comedy albums and cars instead of. [01:19:23] Speaker C: Yeah, getting coffee. [01:19:25] Speaker B: I had to stop listening while I was making breakfast because eventually I finished making it and I wanted to eat and I didn't want to listen about her butthole. [01:19:30] Speaker C: But I think that could account for almost all. Yeah, maybe that would affect you, right? Like, if you're preparing a meal. I think that what you guys are saying could account for all the things we watch. The moment we watch it makes all the difference. The moment we're watching it in, it makes all the difference. The mood we're in, where we are, the time of day, you know, like, what other shit you got going on that you're just trying to cram this in? I had nothing right. I was just alone in my world, and I was able to receive this in a really nice way. Although a lot of what she said isn't nice. But, like, and I, and I, I was super impressed. I thought she was terrific. I thought so Funny, hilarious, and dirty in the kind of way I like. [01:20:19] Speaker B: I'm good. You want to do the voting? Yeah, let's do it. [01:20:25] Speaker C: Okay, the voting scale is going to be how many bed desks do you give it? [01:20:30] Speaker B: How many times did she say that? [01:20:32] Speaker C: During that story? I was at my desk slash bed. [01:20:35] Speaker B: Eight to ten death slash bed. [01:20:38] Speaker C: I mean, the only thing I might take umbrage it is, I don't know if, like, this is too much like the abortion, the rape. Like, it's like you've got a captive audience. Then you lay this on them. They're there for a comedy show, and you lay them with the heavy rape stuff. [01:21:00] Speaker B: So that, that in mind, what would you rate it? How many out of five bed desks? [01:21:05] Speaker A: Well, it's the. It's the fashion. [01:21:08] Speaker C: Yeah. Is it? That's what they're doing out here in these rooms. They're talking about getting a raid. Everything here is everything. Let me lay it all out there. [01:21:17] Speaker A: Yep. [01:21:18] Speaker C: Really? [01:21:19] Speaker A: You're gonna know this when you're running an open mic. [01:21:22] Speaker B: Yeah. Start next Tuesday. [01:21:25] Speaker C: I give it four out of five. Bed. [01:21:27] Speaker B: Wow. It's very high rating. [01:21:30] Speaker C: Yeah. I think she's terrific. I think, as you said earlier, she's the future of comedy. Nina Decker. And can we get her at the lodge? She seems like she'd be ripe for this place. Ripe? They'll come out for her. She's. This is right in her wheelhouse. Am I wrong or am I right in Stein? [01:21:46] Speaker A: How she pulls bridal. [01:21:49] Speaker C: No. [01:21:49] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:21:50] Speaker C: Send her this way. [01:21:51] Speaker A: Two out of five. [01:21:52] Speaker C: Two out of five. [01:21:53] Speaker A: She's committed to what she's doing. She's lazy all together. But it's like, you know what? I'm not buying it. [01:22:00] Speaker C: I still don't know what you mean by not buying. You don't like it? Buying it. I don't know. [01:22:06] Speaker B: I. I like. See, man, I liked half of it. So I'll give it two. Two bed desks in one bed. [01:22:12] Speaker C: One bed. [01:22:13] Speaker B: Two bed desks. Yep. [01:22:14] Speaker A: And one Bath and Beyond. [01:22:16] Speaker B: Maybe a Bath and Beyond. There we go. I was wondering where. [01:22:20] Speaker C: Like a little one. [01:22:21] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:22:22] Speaker C: All right. Well, [01:22:25] Speaker B: you're waiting till the end for the new penalty structure and. Because you know, I can't mute you now because we're about to stop anyway. [01:22:31] Speaker A: Yeah, right. [01:22:33] Speaker C: I can't. I thought I was. I thought we were going to come in here and be like, we've. We found the greatest special of all. [01:22:39] Speaker B: Really? [01:22:40] Speaker C: Yeah. And your dourness way off. Took one vote away from me. I would have given a five out of five, but you. You guys are so dour about it. Made me second guess. [01:22:49] Speaker B: Be your own man. [01:22:50] Speaker A: Yeah. Maybe you should stick to your guns and be. Be true to yourself. Be true to your school. [01:22:58] Speaker B: Grow a pair of clementines. [01:22:59] Speaker A: Yeah. Stick it up your arms. [01:23:04] Speaker C: Well, just please make. Put in the notes over there that I chose this comedian. She checks all the boxes. All right, Mark, who are we gonna watch next week? [01:23:14] Speaker A: Next week we're going back to jolly old England. Governor. [01:23:17] Speaker C: No, you can't go to England every other week. [01:23:20] Speaker A: We're going back to England and we're going to the. The. The. I can't think of the word. Anyway, we're going back. We're going to do Kerry Godliman. Let me write this another female comedian. So it's ruined your week already. Bill Kerry Godliman, who listeners may recognize from many of the Ricky Gervais projects. For instance, in his one about Afterlife, she played his now deceased wife talking to him through video clips. KERRY Godliman, Bandwidth. Three weeks ago, it was released. So finally, we're doing something of this century. [01:24:07] Speaker C: Okay, you're gonna have to send me that. Carrie Godlerman. I don't know how to spell anything. [01:24:10] Speaker A: It's YouTube. [01:24:11] Speaker C: Seaman's taking us out. Seaman Groneth. He got some somewhere to be. The open mic. They're all lined up out here at the Lincoln Lodge to do their two minutes. Come on down Tuesday afternoon for the new do your act next week for the Seaman. [01:24:28] Speaker A: And Mark, I'm predicting he'll bottle it. [01:24:38] Speaker C: Are you late.
